Guest guest
the nurses said i'd be retested on thursday, and just come off the hc the day before hand. the adrenals will still respond to acth/synachten right? or not? http://www.pat.nhs.uk/uploads/20100126_0590-PI(M)ShortSynacthenTest.pdf " If you take hydrocortisone please omit the morning dose until after the test has been completed. If you are taking prednisolone or cortisone, please transfer to dexamethasone two weeks prior to the test, and omit your morning dose prior to the test. " thanks Phil > > once you start on HC you can't test to see how your Adrenal and Cortisol levels are doing. You need to be off HC 2 weeks to do this and I would give it a good 6 months on it before trying to come off it to test again. If your talking about a diff. test you need to talk about this with your GP to night when you talk to him. If you come off HC to retest you need to come off it like it says in the FAQ's I gave you. > Co-Moderator > Phil >
Guest guest
Wow are you sure your seeing a good Dr. no you can't get good labs taking any HC every a cream for a rash will give bad readings for Cortisol. You can't start on this if your doing testing again in that shot of time. Just hold off going on the HC until all your testing is done.
