Guest guest
A couple of weeks ago I got some simple blood work done. I have had slightly above range RBC, hemocrit, hemoglobin. I have been donating blood and the levels are falling. Some of the other blood work looked suspicious for low iron. I just got that blood work back and sure enough iron, iron saturation, and ferritin were low. TIBC was at 90% of range and UIBC was above range. The way I understand it iron is mainly used to produce red blood cells. Wouldn't typically your RBC be low if your iron was low? My doctor is sending a letter of recommended treatment. I should have it by tomorrow. My WBC were below range too. I am not sure if the doctor knows what is causing that. I believe he thinks maybe it was a fluke and will retest.
