Guest guest
Hi and Welcome, Your T levels are very low and your LH is low if your Estradiol is high this can be why your low. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 I would not go on the Androgel 5 grams until you can get your Estradiol tested if it is low and you get it down with Arimidex or Indolplex/DIM your levels can go up in my units some 200 to 300 points. http://www.medibolics.com/ArimidexBoostsTestosterone.htm Now if you go on the Androgel it will shut you down and no you will not go back up to your old levels you can end up lower. This is why I feel your Dr. is not up on this we need to figure out why we are low before going on TRT. Once you go on TRT it is dam hard to figure out why your low. Here in the USA Endo's are the worst Dr.'s for low Testosterone any good DO Dr. will be better one that sees a lot of men for this problem. You can try posting at Dr. 's he knows some Dr.'s in Canada that are up on this they would not be in your system. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2 Your ED problems are not the low Testosterone but your high Estradiol levels if they test high here the best level is 20 pg/ml. If your Estradiol levels are good then you need to have your Pituitary looked at to rule out a tumor don't be upset about hearing this it is rare to be cancer. If you can't find a Dr. to test your Estradiol levels and you don't get night time and morning wood try some Indolplex/DIM it is sold OTC take one table at dinner time when your night time and morning wood comes back your at your best levels. Then get your Testosterone levels checked again if the did not come up a lot have your Pituitary Checked. Read the following cut and paste. And here is a good link to read about this. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html ================================================== ALL ABOUT DIM. Sure here is a few links that are all about it. But there are a lot of Co.'s out there selling DIM that don't work well. Indolplex/DIM is the best it dose not get killed in your stomach when you take it. Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a stable indole found in cruciferous vegetables which promotes a beneficial estrogen metabolism in both women and men. http://www.dimfaq.com/index.htm in this link it's full of links about it. http://qualitycounts.com/fpdim.html http://www.jbc.org/content/278/23/21136.full If you have DIM in caps it's not Indolplex so to take this and to get it to work open the cap pore the DIM into a spoon add some Olive oil and take it this helps to keep it from getting killed in your stomach. The following is some links to where you can buy Indolplex/DIM. http://www.vitaglo.com/e5336.html http://www.vitacost.com/EnzymaticTherapyEstroBalancewithDIM/searchby-PN/searchte\ xt-dim http://www.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Pure-Rip-with-DIM-60-Tablets/12814?at=0 http://www.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Pure-Rip-with-DIM-60-Tablets/12814?at=0 http://www.estrobalance.net/ http://www.easyhealthzone.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=PP0108 & click=71 http://www.nbizz.com/longevityclinic/listings/213.html http://www.drugnatural.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD & Store_Code=DMOS & Product_\ Code=156497 http://www.smartbomb.com/itindo9.html?utm_source=mercent & utm_medium=shopcompare & \ utm_content=itindo9 & utm_campaign=mbsdb & mr:trackingCode=C6AEFBD1-E681-DE11-B7F3-0\ 019B9C043EB & mr:referralID=NA http://www.ritecare.com/cgi-bin/cart.pl?db=product_db.dat & category=natural+medic\ ine & method=any_words & search=iti-75336 http://www.naturamart.com/phytopharmica-pms-formula-with-indoplex-120-caps.html How to take Indolplex/DIM take one tablet 120 mgs at dinner time it can take 2 weeks to 2 months to get your Estradiol levels down it’s all about how high you are in your levels. What you need to do is get this down to about 20 pg/ml. When you get this low your night time and morning wood will come back so strong it will wake you up this means most of the time your at your best levels or what I call the sweet spot. Keep taking the DIM but if your wood stops your going down to low so just stop taking it. The day your wood comes back go back on the DIM but cut the tablet in half. If your Testosterone was tested and low but your not on TRT get it tested again you might find your levels came up some 200 to 300 points. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 Co-Moderator Phil > From: thezeds <no_reply > > Subject: Blood work back..... Guest guest
I found these abstracts which indicate that C677T MTHFR mutations may have something to do with ED - appx 30-40% of the population has this mutation http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19694922 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15648556 I took some genetic panels back in 2008 which indicate I have this mutation - NOT ONE DOCTOR (or myself for that matter - until I came across these abstracts) knew about this I'll be seeing Dr O and HANS later next month and hope to be finally able to solve this problem BUT - people here should consider this as a possibility for their ED > > Hello all.... what a great group with a wealth of information... sometimes too much to keep on top of. > > Wanted to share some information and perhaps get some feedback from the knowledgeable people here. > > I am a fairly healthy 44 year old male who has been having issues with ED over the past few years. Guest guest
Thanks for all that insight Phil. I am surprised to read all the info on DIM ? Is it really that effective and a potential fix ? Have many others had good experiences with DIM and able to get rebounded T levels by reducing Estrodiol with DIM ? > > > From: thezeds <no_reply > > > Subject: Blood work back..... Guest guest
It is just something to try before going on full blown TRT. It will work if your Estradiol levels are to high. Your brain sees Estradiol as Testosterone because Estradiol is made from Testosterone so it can't tell the Diff. so when it's to high your brain can think it's Testosterone and slow down your LH levels LH tells your Testis to make Testosterone. Guest guest
Ok thanks, I am setting up an appointment to get my Estradiol levels tested. Is this a typical blood test ? or is there something different about it ? Although my initial work up had several items reported in the blood work Estradiol was not one of them. I am wondering why it may have been ommitted if it is so closely linked to T count. What can I conclude if my Estradiol levels are 'normal' ? And based on my results posted earlier ? Is that then the time to commence Androgel ? I am currently waiting for PSA results to come back prior to starting anyways. > > > > > > > From: thezeds <no_reply > > > > > Subject: Blood work back..... > > Looking at starting TRT ?? > > > > > > > > Date: Monday, June 21, 2010, 2:54 PM > > > > Hello all.... what a great group with > > > > a wealth of information... sometimes too much to > > keep on top > > > > of. > > > > > > > > Wanted to share some information and perhaps get > > some > > > > feedback from the knowledgeable people here. > > > > > > > > I am a fairly healthy 44 year old male who has > > been having > > > > issues with ED over the past few years. I > > finally made > > > > plans to get bloodwork done as I had suspected > > low T levels > > > > based on everything I had read to date. > > > > > > > > My results came back as follows, we are in Canada > > here so > > > > excuse if the units are not the same as most are > > used to. > > > > > > > > Testosterone 14.5 nmol/L (8-38nmol/L) > > > > Free Testosterone 33.9 pmol/L (25-80pmol/L) > > > > SHBG 21 nmol/L (12-71 nmol/L) > > > > Calculated f-T approx 375 > > > > Prolactin 7 (<18ug/L) > > > > LH 3 IU/L ( 1-9 IU/L) > > > > DHEAS 6.7 umol/L (2.41-11.6umol/L) > > > > > > > > My Doctor suggested all the numbers came back > > normal and > > > > did not offer any treatment plan besides Cialis > > and > > > > Levitra. Unfortunately this would not do much > > for the > > > > lack of energy, lack of focus as well as the ED, > > so I > > > > pressed him and suggested that based on the info > > I had > > > > collected my T count seemed low. > > > > > > > > He has agreed to try a 3 month trial of Androgel > > 1% (5 gram > > > > daily)to see if there is any improvement. > > > > > > > > Before I start this, I just wanted to perhaps see > > if there > > > > was something in my results that would suggest > > differently > > > > ? > > > > > > > > I also have questions about starting this TRT. > > > > - will the three month trial likely suppress all > > my natural > > > > testosterone production ? > > > > - will my natural testosterone production come > > back once I > > > > have stopped this trial ? > > > > - we have not yet tested for estrodial (E2), and > > have read > > > > that this could be a problem in low T ? > > > > - is there something i should look at prior to > > commencing > > > > with Androgel ? > > > > > > > > Thanks in advance for any insight. > > > > > > > > Chris > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
If your Estradiol levels are good right now you will have good night time and morning wood if you don't have this now it can well be your Estradiol levels are to high. Some men can handle higher levels of Estradiol and have good wood with no ED problems. But most men can't when I was first tested I had to go to war with my Dr. to test it he kept telling me men don't have problems with high Estradiol. At the time his wife was working there she is also a Dr. I asked him to ask her and she said yes men can have high levels so he tested me. I was do dam high I was over the top of the range. But in my case I was on TRT for about 20 yrs and the last 10 my levels must have been very high from being on TRT. I had ED for 10 yrs and getting my Estradiol levels down my ED was gone my BPH got much better and I stopped having Panic Attacks. Now today my Dr. tests all of his older men for high Estradiol levels. You also need to be checked for Testis or Prostate Cancer before going on TRT. It is possible that your estradiol levels can be high and getting down your levels your T levels will not come up high enough but it's worth a try. Guest guest
I am getting decent wood in the mornings... of course this could always be better !! Not having the same joy in the evenings however. I had mentioned testing for Estrogen with my Doctor the last time I spoke to him, he did not seem too interested. This was before my more recent reading on the subject and specifically Estradiol. I hope to convince him to proceed with this testing next time around. > > > > > > > > > > > From: thezeds <no_reply > > > > > > > Subject: Blood work > > back..... > > > > Looking at starting TRT ?? > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Monday, June 21, 2010, 2:54 PM > > > > > > Hello all.... what a great group with > > > > > > a wealth of information... sometimes > > too much to > > > > keep on top > > > > > > of. > > > > > > > > > > > > Wanted to share some information and > > perhaps get > > > > some > > > > > > feedback from the knowledgeable people > > here. > > > > > > > > > > > > I am a fairly healthy 44 year old male > > who has > > > > been having > > > > > > issues with ED over the past few > > years. I > > > > finally made > > > > > > plans to get bloodwork done as I had > > suspected > > > > low T levels > > > > > > based on everything I had read to > > date. > > > > > > > > > > > > My results came back as follows, we are > > in Canada > > > > here so > > > > > > excuse if the units are not the same as > > most are > > > > used to. > > > > > > > > > > > > Testosterone 14.5 nmol/L (8-38nmol/L) > > > > > > Free Testosterone 33.9 pmol/L > > (25-80pmol/L) > > > > > > SHBG 21 nmol/L (12-71 nmol/L) > > > > > > Calculated f-T approx 375 > > > > > > Prolactin 7 (<18ug/L) > > > > > > LH 3 IU/L ( 1-9 IU/L) > > > > > > DHEAS 6.7 umol/L (2.41-11.6umol/L) > > > > > > > > > > > > My Doctor suggested all the numbers > > came back > > > > normal and > > > > > > did not offer any treatment plan > > besides Cialis > > > > and > > > > > > Levitra. Unfortunately this > > would not do much > > > > for the > > > > > > lack of energy, lack of focus as well > > as the ED, > > > > so I > > > > > > pressed him and suggested that based on > > the info > > > > I had > > > > > > collected my T count seemed low. > > > > > > > > > > > > He has agreed to try a 3 month trial of > > Androgel > > > > 1% (5 gram > > > > > > daily)to see if there is any > > improvement. > > > > > > > > > > > > Before I start this, I just wanted to > > perhaps see > > > > if there > > > > > > was something in my results that would > > suggest > > > > differently > > > > > > ? > > > > > > > > > > > > I also have questions about starting > > this TRT. > > > > > > - will the three month trial likely > > suppress all > > > > my natural > > > > > > testosterone production ? > > > > > > - will my natural testosterone > > production come > > > > back once I > > > > > > have stopped this trial ? > > > > > > - we have not yet tested for estrodial > > (E2), and > > > > have read > > > > > > that this could be a problem in low T > > ? > > > > > > - is there something i should look at > > prior to > > > > commencing > > > > > > with Androgel ? > > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks in advance for any insight. > > > > > > > > > > > > Chris > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
So called the Doctor's office this morning... to get results of PSA tests.... He wanted that baseline before considering starting the Andogel. When I called, I also found out the tested for Estradiol and Cortisol as well. I was pleased to see this as I had not specifically requested the Estradiol yet, but was going to based on what I have learned here. So... in addition to my low / borderline results shared in this originating post.... here are more results: PSA - 0.61 (0-2.5) Estradiol 118 (<161) Corstisol 400 (65-540) They said all are " Normal " ?? I am scheduled to go sit with him after vacation and plan forward.... I think I am still leaning towards the Androgel at this time. Do the Estradiol numbers above suggest any other option ? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: thezeds <no_reply > > > > > > > > > Subject: Blood > > work > > > > back..... > > > > > > Looking at starting TRT ?? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Date: Monday, June 21, 2010, > > 2:54 PM > > > > > > > > Hello all.... what a great > > group with > > > > > > > > a wealth of information... > > sometimes > > > > too much to > > > > > > keep on top > > > > > > > > of. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Wanted to share some > > information and > > > > perhaps get > > > > > > some > > > > > > > > feedback from the > > knowledgeable people > > > > here. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am a fairly healthy 44 year > > old male > > > > who has > > > > > > been having > > > > > > > > issues with ED over the past > > few > > > > years.ÃÆ'‚ I > > > > > > finally made > > > > > > > > plans to get bloodwork done > > as I had > > > > suspected > > > > > > low T levels > > > > > > > > based on everything I had > > read to > > > > date. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My results came back as > > follows, we are > > > > in Canada > > > > > > here so > > > > > > > > excuse if the units are not > > the same as > > > > most are > > > > > > used to. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Testosterone 14.5 nmol/L > > (8-38nmol/L) > > > > > > > > Free Testosterone 33.9 > > pmol/L > > > > (25-80pmol/L) > > > > > > > > SHBG 21 nmol/L (12-71 > > nmol/L) > > > > > > > > Calculated f-T approx 375 > > > > > > > > Prolactin 7 (<18ug/L) > > > > > > > > LH 3 IU/L ( 1-9 IU/L) > > > > > > > > DHEAS 6.7 umol/L > > (2.41-11.6umol/L) > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My Doctor suggested all the > > numbers > > > > came back > > > > > > normal and > > > > > > > > did not offer any treatment > > plan > > > > besides Cialis > > > > > > and > > > > > > > > Levitra.ÃÆ'‚ > > Unfortunately this > > > > would not do much > > > > > > for the > > > > > > > > lack of energy, lack of focus > > as well > > > > as the ED, > > > > > > so I > > > > > > > > pressed him and suggested > > that based on > > > > the info > > > > > > I had > > > > > > > > collected my T count seemed > > low. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > He has agreed to try a 3 > > month trial of > > > > Androgel > > > > > > 1% (5 gram > > > > > > > > daily)to see if there is any > > > > improvement. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Before I start this, I just > > wanted to > > > > perhaps see > > > > > > if there > > > > > > > > was something in my results > > that would > > > > suggest > > > > > > differently > > > > > > > > ? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I also have questions about > > starting > > > > this TRT. > > > > > > > > - will the three month trial > > likely > > > > suppress all > > > > > > my natural > > > > > > > > testosterone production ? > > > > > > > > - will my natural > > testosterone > > > > production come > > > > > > back once I > > > > > > > > have stopped this trial ? > > > > > > > > - we have not yet tested for > > estrodial > > > > (E2), and > > > > > > have read > > > > > > > > that this could be a problem > > in low T > > > > ?ÃÆ'‚ > > > > > > > > - is there something i should > > look at > > > > prior to > > > > > > commencing > > > > > > > > with Androgel ? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks in advance for any > > insight. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Chris > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
OK in most men this level it to high it can cause problmes not big ones but it can be a problem. You can do some things to get this down one is Zinc all men are low on Zinc but adding Zinc lowers Copper. I get Copper and Zinc in my Multi Vit. http://bestvitamins.com/BestVitamins/prime_nutrients.htm And I take ZMA by the NOW brand 3 at bedtime. the links are for info only you can buy this anywhere. http://www.myvitanet.com/zma-180-caps-now-foods.html And I add in 2 mgs of Copper at noon. http://www.myvitanet.com/biocitrate-copper-2-mg-60-count-solaray.html If you SHBG is mid range your best levels are 75pmol/L or 20 pg/ml. If this dose not bring Estradiol down try Indolplex/DIM I don't think you can get Arimidex Dr.'s don't like to give it out. http://www.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Pure-Rip-with-DIM-60-Tablets/12814?at=0 Take one Tablet at Dinner time and you can add to this some TMG at bedtime this will help your liver wash out the E's that get converted from using Indolplex/DIM. I use my night time and morning wood to gage how this is working when your levels come down and you hit the sweet spot your night time and morning wood will start up again. If you have night time and morning wood now and it's strong don't do the above your fine. If your wood starts up on this then later stops this can mean your Estraiol levels went to low. Just stop the DIM until the wood comes back that morning go back on it but cut the tab in half. Co-Moderator Phil > From: thezeds <no_reply > > Subject: Re: Blood work back.....
