Thanks ~Xian,

After much posting and searching I found a paper by Spacedoc.com about Pain

Relief and Exercising. I need to show this to my Dr. and try going on Ultram

300mg A stronger tramadol. In his paper he says the following that shows why I

have a problem with more pain walking and trying to do light exercise.

I need to walk and try and exercising in water.

My wife can't take pain meds she had her knee replaced and the Dr. gave her

Ultram (tramadol hydrochloride)she had no problems on this and no pain.

Now that I know weight bearing exercise like walking make this problem worse. I

don't think I will need the med for long. The supplements Dr.'s have me on are

helping. I start to feel much better with less pain but trying to walk 30 min.s

a day sets me back last Monday I felt great and started walking 2 min's at a

time for 30 min.'s total and the next day I was OK so I kept it up but by Thur.

night I was in bad pain needing to take a pain pill every 8 hrs. with not much

help.

This has been the problem all along even when I got out of the hosp. 2 yrs ago

from Heart bypass surgery I could not walk for long with out having a lot of

pain. Now I know it was from being on them Statin Drugs.

Now when I feel better I am going to try the non weight-bearing exercise of

water aerobics like the Dr. that has this same problem says in his paper.

==================================================

Meanwhile multi-disciplined research teams are working out the details of

mitochondrial repair and maintenance. Some of this new research centers on the

benefit of exercise which stimulates mitochondrial genesis.

This can be very misleading. I can say from experience that regular exercise

such as walking is counterproductive in these cases of statin associated muscle

damage. The exercise merely throws additional work on the remaining intact

muscle fibers causing excess strain and increased pain. This is why only the

very special non weight-bearing exercise of water aerobics has much to offer

here. No pain management program, in my opinion, is complete without it.

Have you ever taken Cissus Quadrangularis? USP labs started a product

named " Super Cissus RX " which seems to be the gold standard for Cissus.

Cissus is a Ayurvedic (ancient Indian medicine system) herb that has

been used for 1000's of years and has no known side effects, originally

used to speed the recovery of broken bones but has been found to help

with joints, ligaments, and tendons, and I have had friends with muscle

pains say it helped them out as well. I take a small amount daily now

as a protectant, and have taken larger doses when I have sprains or

joint issues from martial arts. For instance I was taking larger doses

for a couple of weeks after I popped my ankle, my right tibia literally

touched the ground and there was a loud pop sound. I thought for sure

something was broken or ripped but I was ok, it did swell up really bad

and I had to take it easy for a few days, but after a week I was back to

about 80% and was 100% in about 2 weeks. Others I have talked too that

had similar accidents told me it was 4-6wks for them to recover from

theirs.

Cissus is also a mild analgesic, so it can help with pain. There are

tons of anecdotal evidence out there of Cissus helping people with

issues they thought could never be corrected, and usually when it helps

its a permanent fix meaning it does not go away when you stop taking

it. Its worth a shot, you should notice some relief within a couple of

weeks depending on how much you take. I found it from Jujitsu forums

where guys used to pop ibuprofen before every training session to ward

off pain, they found Cissus worked just as well if not better and it

seems like it would be safer to use Cissus then drugs long term.

Just passing the info along.

I am going to try Ultram and stop walking for exercise and try water aerobics

like the Dr. talks about in this link.
