Guest guest
If you can get to Houston on a semi regular basis, Dr. Tan is good. Regarding gels and creams, I do very well on alcohol based Androgel but I absorb virtually nothing using compounded creams. If you have not tried Androgel then you should know that it can be a very different experience from other formulations. Skin absorption varies widely from one person to another but Androgel is worth a try, I say. W > > Guys > > I'm the guy who went on T shots 3-1/2 years ago (after waiting 5 years after successful Prostate Cancer surgery). The shots worked great for the 3-1/2 years and it made a big difference in my overall sense of well-being, etc. Last summer my PSA started to edge up (it had been NIL for 8 years) and after the PSA got to .30 I decided to pull off T shots altogether. 2 months after the last T shot, the latest PSA is back to NIL so I'm left with a dilemma - I feel pretty much like crap and my libido went back in the toilet but am a little apprehensive about going back on the shots. > > While it's hard to definitely say that the shots alone cause my T to go up (and the reading never went that high anyway), my endo suggested I try Gel instead of shots. However, I've read so much on this site about how Gel doesn't work that great for some people. I'm tempted to just go back on the shots (I was pretty low dose at .30ML/weekly)but am a little skittish. I'm thinking about trying for a new endo or urologist who might better help me through this - does anyone know of an endo or urologist in the Dallas area to may be adept at guiding men with a 'history' such as mine? >
Guest guest
I don't like to say this but I can't help my self. Gels, shots of T can make you a mess if you let your Estradiol levels go up. I see this in my PSA test but this is me not you. As I let my Estradiol levels go up so goes my PSA levels and if I had sex 2 days before my labs my PSA levels would come back higher. Now here is the other problem labs error I read men would have a higher level of PSA there Dr. would send them to see an Uro. they would order a tissue sample and nothing would be wrong. Then next test PSA would come down. I can't tell you what to do but I feel you need to do some searching about this do a goggle then click on groups see what other men say. Guest guest
Thanks Phil Good advice for sure - I really think I need to go back on T (in whatever fashion is best for me). The problem is my urologist (who does the exams and PSA's) doesn't do 'T' therapy and my Endo (who handles the T) isn't that well versed in dealing with guys with prior prostate cancers. I think I just need a doctor (somewhere in North Texas) who can monitor me for both and work with me. Since I've gone off T, I feel like crap and I don't think that's going to improve without help. Guest guest
You need to find a qaulified dr in your region that will properly teat you. I have a person that has PSA of 4 and still is on TRT. Dr should not restrict a better quaility of life based upon a test that has already been proven to be not a valid test. Depending on the area you are located at I could make some recommendation for good Dr's. > > > > > From: txmtnboy <txmtnboy@> > > > Subject: Help ! - 2 Months After Going Cold Turkey After PSA Test > > > > > > Date: Sunday, January 2, 2011, 9:30 AM > > > Guys > > > > > > I'm the guy who went on T shots 3-1/2 years ago (after > > > waiting 5 years after successful Prostate Cancer > > > surgery). Guest guest
Txmtnboy, Here is what I feel you need to do there are a lot of men on TRT that had Cancer. Some are members here but have not seen your post. Here is what I feel you need to do. I am going to give you links to forums where you can post about this and get replies from other men that had cancer. You need to go to them join them some are bodybuilding forums but the section I am linking to to are men on TRT. Post this see if you can find out what they do and maybe you can find a better Dr. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2 http://anabolicminds.com/forum/male-anti-aging/ http://forum.mesomorphosis.com/mens-health-forum/ http://tnation.t-nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_training_performance_bodybu\ ilding_trt?pageNo=1 & s=forumsNavTop At the following link Hardasnails is a mod there and Dr. M might even get back to you he is one of the best. http://www.definitivemind.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=23 No to find a new better Dr. go to the Files section at the home page on the left of your screen click on files then open " Finding A Male Hormone Dr. " read this. Then go to the Database section and open the " Physician Reference " and see if you can find a Dr. in your area that some one here sees. Or call some Compounding Pharmacy's ask for the name and number of Dr.'s in your area and start calling them ask questions like how many men do they treat and do some have or did they have cancer. Ask if the test for high Estradiol and if one is high do the use Arimidex to keep it down. You will know when you have found a good dr. http://www.collegepharmacy.com/menshealth/andropause.asp ANEWrx 523 Parkway View Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15205 877-788-8908 (ph) 877-788-8948 (fax) Monday - Friday (9am - 6pm) Saturday 10am - 2pm www.ANEWrx.com Co-Moderator Phil > From: txmtnboy <txmtnboy@...> > Subject: Re: Help ! - 2 Months After Going Cold Turkey After PSA Test > > Date: Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 7:18 AM > Thanks Phil > > Good advice for sure - I really think I need to go back on > T (in whatever fashion is best for me). Guest guest
in the process working with a Dr and his patient in Texas. In what area I do not know, but I will find out. The Dr is very open minded and is willing to go out side the box a bit as long as things are medical justifiable. Again I am just supplying information and clinical research for the dr to make the final call. The client got in contact me and basically told Dr about me which spur his interest. The response has been better then anticipated and dr was thrilled to want to learn. Actually this is all kept in a blog on line. I will get the thread for people to track progress. > > > > > > > > > From: txmtnboy <txmtnboy@> > > > > > Subject: Help ! - 2 Months After Going Cold Turkey After PSA Test > > > > > > > > > > Date: Sunday, January 2, 2011, 9:30 AM > > > > > Guys > > > > > > > > > > I'm the guy who went on T shots 3-1/2 years ago (after > > > > > waiting 5 years after successful Prostate Cancer > > > > > surgery).
