Guest guest
I drink about ten cups of coffee each day. Have been for years. There have been times where I stopped for about a week or so. I never had a headache or any other kind of symptoms from not drinking coffee. Harry B. New York Interesting View of Arimidex by Body Builders I got this off a web page - interesing doses they use and make reference to OTC products typically not mentioned here: Any drug taken for too long will have negative consequences in the body. The use of caffeine for weeks, for example, leads to an addiction which will leave the user with a pounding headache each day. Long-term use of anabolic, or post-cycle therapy compounds, can be even more dangerous. Every day you use a compound, the functions of several systems in your body are altered. Over time, these can lead to unintended health consequences. Arimidex is a very popular drug for limiting the effects of estrogen in the body. It is used as part of a post-cycle therapy plan. You see, following a heavy cycle or a pre-contest phase, you are typically going to taper off your AAS use. This results in crashing testosterone levels and spiking estrogen levels. This means, without PCT, you would lose your muscle and see some nasty side effects, including bloating and gynecomastia. Arimidex stops these negative side effects from occurring. However, many bodybuilders tend to “cruise†on Arimidex from the minute their cycle ends, until their next one begins. This not only doesn’t give the body a true break, but it also can lead to long-term consequences from the Arimidex itself. Let’s look at some of the most important issues regarding Arimidex usage. Estrogen does have its purposes Arimidex limits the amount of estrogen produced in your body. There’s only one problem here – you NEED a fair amount of estrogen for several body functions, including muscle building itself. Estrogen must also be present for a strong sexual drive (Yes, even in men) as well as to achieve and maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Many bodybuilders see estrogen as an enemy, but that’s not accurate. Too much estrogen is what causes problems. Moderation is the key Like any compound, you must use Arimidex in the adequate dose for an adequate time period. You just cannot stay on it forever. If you’re only taking 2 to 3 total Arimidex pills per week, you can safely maintain usage for several months at a time. If you’re taking 1-2 per day, as many bodybuilders so irresponsibly do in an attempt to keep their muscles following a cycle, then you’re going to need to halt use after 6 to 8 weeks. Each week should reduce the total number of the original dose by 20 to 25%, assuring you’ve nearly completed the cycle and are completely clean in 2 months. Recommended products There is a wealth of good products you can use to deliver the PCT effects you desire. OTC solutions such as Novedex XP (by Gaspari) and 6-Oxo by Ergopharm are probably as effective as Arimidex, and are legal and easily obtainable as well. However, if you want to use in heavy dosages, which is typically not recommended, you’ll want to seek out actual Arimidex. The bottom line is that PCT is something that should never be taken lightly. Too much will hurt your body’s systems, and too little will result in negative side effects. The use of an over-the-counter solution in moderate dosing is probably your best solution! http://knol.google.com/k/dane-fletcher/long-term-arimidex-use/1yijtt1e6h32o/254# ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi Dan: Interesting post and for what its worth... This echos what several doctors I see say about Arimidex. They warned me long term use may also atrophy the control center that regulates hormone production and they thought regular use was not a good idea for that reason. *And ditto Clomid for stimulating the testes. Take over the work for too long and the worker gets weak and quits. My GP was more specific. She said that very often Doctors will suggest a drug off label. For example using a nerve drug (for diabetics) to help with chronic pain. Its not " meant " for that but known to work and it supposed to be safe. Arimidex she told me is not tested for safety (or anything) in men at all. That its only use is for advanced cancer treatment in terminally ill women. So (My thoughts) for obvious reasons its not as straightforward as maybe some other drugs because the only patients that use it are terminal. For all of those reasons she felt it would not be " ok " to prescribe. She suggested instead that I take Zinc and work on reducing my weight (Way too much flab) and that seems to have worked for me. Weight loss and a good BMI are always good things to shoot for (I think) and the Zinc? Well as things go much less to worry about then being a pioneer " testing " Arimidex. I think it would be great if some of the labs that make this drug would get a study going to see how it works for men but until then I personally will pass. > > I got this off a web page - interesing doses they use and make reference to OTC products typically not mentioned here: > > Any drug taken for too long will have negative consequences in the body. Guest guest
Hi Phil: That maybe true but there are also millions of men who buy " internet " Viagra which is often what? Sheetrock pills made in Red China? If numbers are everything then that would be just as good an idea. Correct? And I don't think drug therapies are a popularity contest and I hope you don't either. I would be much more interested in a discussion of what the three Doctors I saw said about their concerns over using this drug in men. Can long term use atrophy or damage the control centers of the brain that regulate hormone production? They all seemed to think so. One of these doctors is a professor and teaches Urology at the U. Has Arimidex ever been tested for safety in men? I'm pretty sure that answer is still no. Is any drug thats limited to people who are terminally ill that well tested anyhow? I understand that many doctors provide drugs off label. I " get " that there are times this is worth doing. The nerve meds for pain for example. But I think anyone doing this should have a picture of the potential issues and just how much of a dice toss this is. ly I can't understand why someone does NOT run a study and publish it. It seems like that would open up a good market (Half the population) to use this drug. In the meantime whats wrong with loosing weight and taking Zinc once or twice a day? By that I mean if this works? WHY screw with Arimidex? - > > > > > > I got this off a web page - interesing doses they use > > and make reference to OTC products typically not mentioned > > here: > > > > > > Any drug taken for too long will have negative > > consequences in the body. The use of caffeine for > > weeks, for example, leads to an addiction which will leave > > the user with a pounding headache each day. Long-term > > use of anabolic, or post-cycle therapy compounds, can be > > even more dangerous. Every day you use a compound, the > > functions of several systems in your body are altered. > > Over time, these can lead to unintended health > > consequences. > > > > > > Arimidex is a very popular drug for limiting the > > effects of estrogen in the body. It is used as part of > > a post-cycle therapy plan. You see, following a heavy > > cycle or a pre-contest phase, you are typically going to > > taper off your AAS use. This results in crashing > > testosterone levels and spiking estrogen levels. This > > means, without PCT, you would lose your muscle and see some > > nasty side effects, including bloating and > > gynecomastia. Arimidex stops these negative side > > effects from occurring. Guest guest
Just a quick update. I tried the google link you provided and every link I clicked (Until I gave up) was some steroid abuser forum. How about some peer reviewed medical texts on (for example) PubMD? That would impress me a lot more. > > > > > > I got this off a web page - interesing doses they use > > and make reference to OTC products typically not mentioned > > here: > > > > > > Any drug taken for too long will have negative > > consequences in the body. Guest guest
Hi Dan: It might be about the cost to test it. Or the people who make the drug feel there is no way it will pass for this use and don't want to waste the money. I honestly don't know. If it helps, I'll lay aside for the moment the idea that its never been tested for safety in men for the moment but I really do think that would be a nice project. The AndroGel site said (If I remember this right) over 13 million men have Hypogonadism and I think the numbers are under reported. But again we are talking " numbers " and no one is talking about the points I keep trying to bring up. If that Professor of Urology (And the other two doctors I mentioned) says extended use of this type of drug can screw up your hormone control center is that not a good reason to avoid this? For the men who have great BMI and still have high E2 there are some other factors that can cause this. A eacy one is too much Testosterone (Maybe they are doing 2 or *gag 3 week injection cycles?) And the first part of the cycle is converting into E2. Anyway, I think it would be good to try to find out why and address that directly then solve it with a drug that I think has some pretty serious baggage. > > > > > > > > I got this off a web page - interesing doses they use > > > and make reference to OTC products typically not mentioned > > > here: > > > > > > > > Any drug taken for too long will have negative > > > consequences in the body. The use of caffeine for > > > weeks, for example, leads to an addiction which will leave > > > the user with a pounding headache each day. Long-term > > > use of anabolic, or post-cycle therapy compounds, can be > > > even more dangerous. Every day you use a compound, the > > > functions of several systems in your body are altered. > > > Over time, these can lead to unintended health > > > consequences. > > > > > > > > Arimidex is a very popular drug for limiting the > > > effects of estrogen in the body. It is used as part of > > > a post-cycle therapy plan. You see, following a heavy > > > cycle or a pre-contest phase, you are typically going to > > > taper off your AAS use. This results in crashing > > > testosterone levels and spiking estrogen levels. This > > > means, without PCT, you would lose your muscle and see some > > > nasty side effects, including bloating and > > > gynecomastia. Arimidex stops these negative side > > > effects from occurring. Guest guest
Gosh - How do I say this? I think the topic went totally off topic. I don't have any argument with your comment about being treated for depression when you have hormone problems. I don't know what that has to do with my comment at all? My Doctor said " You match a profile for depression but lets be sure and check your hormones first " and that all well and good. If your saying some doctors are not too good dealing with this your right but Doctors are human and its called the Medical " art " so I think its of value to know that they are imperfect. So maybe we agree on this? I dunno... I disagree that we have to thank Steroid Abusers for proving guidance in treating men for Hypogonadism. Its not science - never mind the legal aspects. The point I tried to make was that at least the doctors I've spoken to say Arimidex is not safe for long term use. We can forget my desire for a study of this drug if you like but what about this? Are they wrong and your saying your right? How do you qualify that? I'm not a Doctor. Nor a professor who teaches this its these guys who are the ones saying this and I dispute your comment that steroid abusers know better. And " if " it is even slightly ok why is not doing a more mainstream thing like weight reduction and taking 50 or 100mg of zinc not a better choice? This is the point I'm trying to make. I think " trying " to make science of this is the right way to go about this but... - > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I got this off a web page - > > interesing doses > > > > they use > > > > > > and make reference to OTC products > > typically not > > > > mentioned > > > > > > here: > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Any drug taken for too long will > > have > > > > negative > > > > > > consequences in the body. > > The use of caffeine > > > > for > > > > > > weeks, for example, leads to an > > addiction which > > > > will leave > > > > > > the user with a pounding headache each > > day. > > > > Long-term > > > > > > use of anabolic, or post-cycle therapy > > compounds, > > > > can be > > > > > > even more dangerous. Every > > day you use a > > > > compound, the > > > > > > functions of several systems in your > > body are > > > > altered. > > > > > > Over time, these can lead to unintended > > health > > > > > > consequences. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Arimidex is a very popular drug > > for limiting > > > > the > > > > > > effects of estrogen in the > > body. It is used > > > > as part of > > > > > > a post-cycle therapy plan. > > You see, following > > > > a heavy > > > > > > cycle or a pre-contest phase, you are > > typically > > > > going to > > > > > > taper off your AAS use. > > This results in > > > > crashing > > > > > > testosterone levels and spiking > > estrogen > > > > levels. This > > > > > > means, without PCT, you would lose your > > muscle > > > > and see some > > > > > > nasty side effects, including bloating > > and > > > > > > gynecomastia. Arimidex > > stops these negative > > > > side > > > > > > effects from occurring.
