Via Dr. website:

Don't buy the hype in latest drug study

The prostate ghouls just won't stop.

Even as everyone wakes up and smells the robbery, finally

realizing that this disease is one of the biggest scams in

all of medicine, Big Pharma is STILL out to make a quick

buck off your worst cancer nightmares.

The latest: a push to get more men on a dangerous prostate

med, Avodart, by claiming it can reduce cancers by 23

percent.

But that's a half-truth more dangerous than the worst lie --

because this med will actually CAUSE cancer!

The study published in the New England Journal of Medicine

found that the drug appears to lower the risk of only the

slow-growing, low-grade cancers you simply don't need to

worry about anyway -- the ones even mainstream docs now

agree we're badly over-treating.

But it also does something else... a side effect so heinous

it's hard to imagine anyone with a clear conscience selling

this as a prostate med: The study found that this drug

increases the risk of developing the more unusual highly

aggressive cancers.

Oh, and did I mention that it boosts the risk of heart

failure?

Yet this failure of a med is somehow under consideration

for its supposed prostate " benefit. "

Dr. Otis Brawley, chief medical officer of the American

Cancer Society, actually had the stones to say the

increased heart failure risk could simply be a fluke.

Funny... he won't call the supposed benefit a " fluke, "

though. He's even suggesting men take it, and that their

docs simply watch for heart failure.

How exactly do you " watch " for that? Hook each man up to an

EKG, 24-7? Or just call his home every morning -- anyone who

doesn't answer the phone is another fluke.

Like I've always said, the best way to treat most cases of

prostate cancer is to ignore it. It may not go away -- but

it won't hurt you, either.

to somewhat defined.

Excellent point. Furthermore, I don't think DHT is itself *the* " big baddy " .

It does contribute to prostate growth; however, a few studies have shown DHT

administered on its own (without testosterone) does not promote prostate cancer.

It seems the aromatizing androgens like testosterone have more of a role in

prostate cancer, but I'd rather take whatever precautions necessary via

nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle than bother with blocking DHT. I believe

DHT (among other hormones and factors) is crucial for healthy erectile function,

and I think preventive use of DHT inhibitors carries far more cost than benefit.
