Guest guest
Testing E's is a waste of time you need your Estradiol E2 levels tested if they are high this might well be your problem high E2 levels will bind up your Free T levels and they are low and what counts. Free T is about 1 to 2% of your Total T and in your case this is good. So check your E2 if it's high get it down and recheck your levels. Guest guest
Phil, I did test E2, as you suggested after I posted these labs the first time. I had the Lab Corp Estradiol, Sensitive test done and it was 7. Unfortunately, there were six weeks between the time that I had the labs below done and the E2 test that I had done last week. My question is what might account for my E2 being so low but T being high and why would I treat with TRT if my T is high? Hi Barb! It's great to " see " you again and I'm happy for you that you and DH are getting close to optimal. I'm still struggling quite a bit. I learned last year that, in addition to Hashis, I have Graves disease so I have been on a cocktail of Levoxyl, SRT3 and Tapazole, an anti-thyroid med, which, in low doses, brings down Graves antibodies - mine have dropped from 265 to 66 (0-129% being normal). This is the first time that my T3 has read high in three years of doing this. I have a call in to my endo to ask whether we don't need to back the dose down a little. I still feel like hell most of the time so I'm going to see Dr. next month in the hopes that he can help me figure out what's up with my hormones. No, I'm not bald. In fact, ever since my debacle with Armour and HC, my hair has been great and it has stayed that way so far. > > > > > > The best levels for Estradiol in men is about 20 pg/ml > > if you are to low this is just as bad as being to > > high. Guest guest
it dose not make sense to me unless one of the meds your on lower E2 levels. I don't remember if you said your on TRT of not. I have time of it keeping up I talk to so many men. Men with normal or upper level of Testosterone not on TRT can have a lower level of Estradiol. Dr. posted about this at his Forum not long ago saying to a poster that his E2 was fine because his SHBG was so low. I think the guys E2 was 10 and his SHBG was 13. Men with a lower level of SHBG been to have there sugar check it can be high and doing this. I am sure Dr. will get to the bottom of all this he just did a Radio Show on Thyroid I have not heard it yet but the guys at his forum say it was great. Here is a link to the MP3 of the show: http://www.superhumanradio.com/compo...R_Show_492.mp3 If it dose now work you can get it from his Forum at this link post #11.
