Guest guest
I have been on Androgel (4 Pumps) for three months, with no effect. My t-level was 194 when i started(Nov 09). I took another test after a month and the Dr. told me my number was 1200. Which in my opinion was bull because i felt no different from when i started seeing him. But he reduced me to 3 pumps. That level must have been because i had applied the gel only an hour or two before the blood was drawn. Of course I still felt nothing and went back to four pumps on my own and still feel nothing. I apply to my shoulders (two pumps each), chest and upper arms and i am not hairy. I have an appointment in a few weeks, but i have no plans to refill my prescription. It does not work and is not cheap. Any pointers?
Guest guest
Hi Nitti and Welcome, We see a post like yours all the time if you put on the gel then do labs in less then 6 hrs your labs can be spiked up this high. Even if you don't put the gel on the arm they take the blood from. I tell men do shower do there labs in the morning then when they get home put on the gel. Your on 4 pumps each pump is 1.25 grams so your doing a every low starting dose of 5 grams. Your not feeling better tells me it's not high enough or your skin is not letting it in men with a thyroid problem have a thicker skin and gels don't work. I would go to shots starting with 100 mgs / week do them your self and the cost is far less then gels. Guest guest
Yes it is better not to apply the morning of your test - especially if blood is taken out of the arm where the gel was applied. Â For me the gel did not absorb well. I went up to 10g and still only got my T to ~ 300. Injections is so much better and easier to control. Also a shot once a week was better than daily applications with the gel. It seems to be a trend that a lot of men will not get to the levels they would like with the gel - it is also very expensive. Â That is just my experience - some men really like it. - Arkansas From: Nitti <bk_nitti@...> Subject: How do you apply Androgel properly? E2 rises on testosterone therapy and it can rob you of almost all the benefit of the T. _________ " Two novels can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other involves orcs. "
Guest guest
Thanks for the replies. I will discuss shots with my doctor next visit. I'm sure he'll want to try a higher dosage first though.
