Guest guest
I don't feel it's the Testosterone that is the problem I think you need to have your Cortisol levels tested. The stress of low testosterone will over work your Adreanls and you can end up with low Cortisol levels. In this link there is a lot of info about this and a link to a 4x's in a day Saliva test your can buy to test your Cortisol levels. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ Also read the Thyroid link in this this can be a problem also. Guest guest
I'm a little confused by your question. You seem to indicate that you on on testosterone supplementation. If this is the case and if your testosterone is in the normal range then you should have more energy for weightlifting and exercise in general than without supplementation. This assumes that without supplementation you have low levels of testosterone. Testesterone provides more energy and greater recovery speed so you can work out more often. I am 53 and I can get in a good hard workout in 50 minutes four times/week. With my test level in the 500 range I don't have any problems and I can work out as hard as I did 20 years ago (well, almost). I simply want to stay healthy and don't really care much to be 'big' so it all works out. There are many weight training methods and you can learn a lot by reading the bodybuilding and weightlifting boards. Just realize that their goals are a little different in that they train (and inject) to be as big as they can while most people on this site simply want to be in good health and enjoy life. Exercise is an important component of a happy life and, yes, you should be able to do multiple sets if your test levels are in the normal range. If your levels are in the normal range and you think you are still overly fatigued or have abnormally low exercise tolerance then your problem may be something else. Guest guest
Yes very true in my case I could not work out and I have workout all my life. Even getting my Testosterone levels up. I would workout light and get weak and shaky turns out my cortisol levels were very low and I was not Primary but I was Secondary meaning my Pituitary was not telling my Thyroid or my Adrenals to make hormones. Once I when on them meds I could workout. Guest guest
" Low cortisol symptoms can develop over a period of time and you may " not connect the symptoms as being an illness. The symptoms can vary from person to person. Muscle weakness, muscle pain, joint pain, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, mood changes, depression and irritability as well as the darkening of skin are all low cortisol symptoms. Darkening of the moles and freckles is also common when cortisol levels are low. This is called hyperpigmentation. " " Other low cortisol symptoms include outbursts of anger, inability to handle stress, shakiness, being emotionally hypersensitive, body aches, scalp ache, jittery feelings, clumsiness, feeling light headed, clumsiness, increased need to urinate frequently, insomnia and dark circles under the eyes. Many people will also experience flu like symptoms when they have low cortisol levels. Frequent diarrhea is also another symptom of low cortisol levels. " Above was taken from http://www.ihealthdirectory.com/low-cortisol-symptoms/. ________________________________________________ Thank you Mr. Phil and a few others for responding back. This is scary. I identify with many above symptoms. From skin issues that have been driving me self-consciously crazy & being hypersensitive at times. I thought it came from being primary most of my life and not being treated until I was in my late 20's. A combination I see. I will see my endocrine doctor next month and I will discuss this with him. However, can I start taking a supplement now? I need something now to help me with the above symptoms. _________________________________________ > > > > > > Good day and I hope all are healthy. > > > > > > I have a question... > > > > > > I would like to build more muscle (do not like to > > comment in bodybuilding forums). Guest guest
I don't know about all the stuff that is in this supplement I wasted a lot of money on stuff like this because my Dr. did not what to give me HC Cortef meds. So I got sick of all the crap from him and I got some Isocort this is made from sheep glands 8 pills = 20 mgs of cortisol. I felt great on this if you try it start with one pill in the morning working your way up one pill at a time every 3 days until your doing 2 pills 4x's a day or evey 4hrs. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/adrenal-info/faq/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/safe-uses/ After my Dr. seen how good I was doing on Isocort he gave me Cortef. Guest guest
These types of supplements are typically a waste of money. I tried them all before going testosterone therapy. They (some) will give you a testosterone boost which will last for about two days.. your body's feedback loop will recognize that you have more testosterone in your system than it thinks you should have and it will suppress natural production until you are back down to where it thinks you should be. Energy products (as opposed to testosterone boosting products) might help a bit but I think that the solution is probably going to be found at a good doctor's office. Like Phil says.. could be cortisol or thyroid or something else. Probably is.. provided your test levels are in normal range. You need to know your numbers, all of them. Guest guest
Thank you for the responses. I will buy an energy supplement at GNC until I see my Endo next month. I have the usual blood script and will know my prior results next month. I do not think I have been checked for cortisol before. Blessings to all and have a safe weekend. > > > > > From: uu1845 <uu1845@> > > > Subject: Re: Have a question on energy pills, etc & increase muscle > > > > > > Date: Wednesday, October 27, 2010, 10:38 AM > > > What about this item from GNC? > > > __________________________________ > > > > > > The First All-Natural Anabolic Formula > > > Anabolic Flavone Complex > > > with Methoxyisoflavone & Steroidal Saponins > > > Safe Formula - Non-Hormonal > > > > > > IsoStak is the world's first prohormone-free, double > > > potency > > > anabolic/anticatabolicsupplement.
