Guest guest
Barb: No, Barb I meant that non-hypogonadic men are at a higher risk for heart problems. Women, at least women producing estrogen, are at lower risk for heart disease. A hypogonadic man is hormonally similar to a woman, in that testosterone levels are similar. Estrogen is frequently elevated in hypogonadic men too. Testosterone, whether naturally produced or injected, does increase LDL and decrease HDL. This is even observed in female to male transexuals being treated with testosterone. Of course a hypogonadic man is likely to be overweight, if not obese, sedentary, and diabetic or pre-diabetic. All of these are factors which increase heart risk. Admittedly there aren't any studies that I can quote here. There are multiple factors at play here and cause and effect are hard to pin down. Guest guest
I am totally confused. All these days I read that with TRT, the cholestrol levels are regulated. My heart doctor said with unnecessary use of TRT it messes with your cholestrol but when you are in need of it, I think it will help you with your cholestrol. There are many links where I read TRT is good for men etc. Here is a link to one of those kinds. http://www.renewman.com/THEFACTSABOUTHORMONESMEN/THEFACTS/tabid/2079/Default.asp\ x So, finally is TRT good or bad ? But with out it our whole system is getting messed up. Thanks Joe > > > > Randy, I think you meant hypogonadic men are at higher risk for heart problems? > > > > Barb > > >
