Guest guest
I am using compounded cream (10%) for close to 5 years; before I was in Androgel for about 3 years. Lately, in the last 2 or 3 tubes, I have been noticing some decline in my overall being regarding what I call T related symptoms - lack of morning wood, declined libido, energy, increase apathy. My last T result showed levels just below 600 when in the same dose, I used to have them around 800. These results were from a blood sample taken 2 hours after application of the cream. My E2 was around 22. The doctor suggested I may need an increase in dose. Any comments would be appreciated? Flaco.
Guest guest
Your not supposed to take a blood test after you apply cream. You should do it before you apply and the night before or morning of you should take a good shower and make sure you clean good where the doc takes your blood. Those numbers are most likely off and probably alot lower than 600. If you do take blood after application you should wait at least 6 hours. > > I am using compounded cream (10%) for close to 5 years; before I was in Androgel for about 3 years. Guest guest
My dose is around 0.3 to 0.35 ml twice a day. If I used 0.35 for more than 4 consecutive doses, I got very moody; that is why I always tailored my doses between those 2 values. I got it to a system that would give me a T value around 800 with no mood swings. Right now, I have been using 0.35 for the past week and my T symptoms are not even close to what they normally were. Since I have been on TRT for a long time, my values should not oscillate that much. And I know for a fact that my morning value was around 450 prior to applying the cream since I did that test twice to see how low I was right before applying the cream. My main concern is that I do not feel the same even with my upper dose. I know I could increase my dose 0.05 ml at a time for 5 days at a time and see what happens. I know my body well enough to be able to tell if I go too far. I just wanted to know if it is normal for the dose to increase with time; even though I have been very consistent for a long time. Androgel was the 5 ml packet once a day for about 3 years. Then the compounded T for about 5 years at the same dose (which is about 7.5 to 7.75 ml of Androgel). So, is it time for a dose increase? Of course, I will see my doctor after I feel I have tailored the dose properly to ensure the levels are back to normal and nothing else gets out of whack! Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Flaco, What happens to most of us after a time on gels and creams they stop working don't get through the skin. Switch to Test C shots starting at 100 mgs / wk. Guest guest
Phil: Thanks! I was afraid of that. I will wait and see if slowly increasing my dose I get better response. > > > From: rndchemist <no_reply > > > Subject: Is it normal for the TRT dose to increase after some time? > > > > Date: Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 6:04 PM > > I am using compounded cream (10%) for > > close to 5 years; before I was in Androgel for about 3 > > years.
