Guest guest
There is another link by Osmond, fellow LP lady in the UK. http://www.expage.com/lpshealth There is alot of great info on that link. However since we vary on bone structure and dwarfism type, the charts cannot apply to all. Dawn In dwarfism , " " <paulshaner2001@y...> wrote: I am trying to find a height and weight chart for a man and a woman I am 4' 10 " and a 185 lb. I would be very thankfull for it if any one can help me please in any way thank you. Everyones friend
Guest guest
, First of all, congratulations on losing those pounds. I just posted a weight/height graph for male achons (see the Files>Achondroplasia Charts). According to that graph, the mean weight at 4'3 " (~129.5 cm) is 116.84 lbs (~53 kg). At 95 lbs (~43 kg), you're around one standard deviation below the mean -- that's good! Generally, dwarfism experts recommend that achons try to stay lean to avoid unnecessary stress to the skeleton in general, and the spine and joints in particular. Dr. , who is one of the researchers who generated these charts, follows my son who has achondroplasia. His verbal footnote to us about these charts is that they measured achons in various states of health -- that is to say, they did not exclude those individuals that were quite overweight in the case of the weight/height graphs, or those who may have been deemed excessively thin. So, take these numbers with a grain of salt: being one standard deviation below the mean, as you are, may be even better than being on the mean curve. If my memory serves me well, Dr. advised us to strive to stay below the mean curve. The graphs are in cm/kg, so for those who would rather not look up conversion tables, but don't know the equivalents off hand, here they are: 2.54 cm = 1 inch 1 kg = 2.2046 lbs Amelia Schuler > Help > > > I am trying to find a height and weight chart for a man and a woman I > am 4' 10 " and a 185 lb. Guest guest
In addition to the internet try a live group with AAPT and NPTA that have local meetings and Live and Local CE respectively. www.pharmacytechnican.com and www.pharmacytechnician.org should get you to their sites. I think Fochtman (spelling) may be from Georgia and the NPTA co-ordinator. Not sure about contact for AAPT go to the sites. Good Luck and congrats for pursuing tech networking whether on the net or live. I personally do both! Respectfully. Guest guest
, in my experience, you should be fine. You probably just hit a small bleeder. If you jot a vein, it should be okay, also. Remember veins are hit each time blood is drawn. I am sure this has been mentioned before but I will mention it again. As awkward as it sounds, mine and my husband's favorite place to infect was our stomachs. We had less bruising, less pain, etc. When I first heard of that, it grossed me out but it really is a great place. Give it a try. Guest guest
I've had that happen before...usually you just nick an artery or vein. But if you are really concerned, call your doctor. But there are not major veins in the tummy or the meaty part of the thigh so if it were me, I wouldn't worry. Take a few deep breaths and relax....... Help I just did my weekly injection a few minutes ago in my right thigh and as soon as the needle popped out of the skin, it started to bleed. Now there is a small blood blister type thing at the site. If I injected into a vein, is this a serious problem? Thanks for any help (God I hate the injection part). Guest guest
I don't think a vein is a problem, however an artery might be. A big one lol. From what I've heard, if it were a problem, you'd have noticed it by now most likely. But show your doc next time. It's not something you want to have a bad reaction to. Guest guest
, There are no blood veins within reach of that tiny needle when injecting into your thigh. There tiny capillaries, but other than not looking too great you should be fine. Don't worry about it. As long as you didn't reinsert vein into either, you'll probably be okay. But I'd check with the doc anyway. Anne

Well, it's blue and it's under the skin and they poked a hole in it lol. Alley
