Guest guest
DUH! Thank you Karin for pointing out that it is per nostril For those who need to see the math: 2 sprays per nostril per day = 2sprays/nostril x 2 nostrils = 4 sprays (per day). 1 spray = 50 mcg 4 x 50 mcg/day = 200 mcg/day One container has 16000 mcg actuations/ container (this information is NOT given in the problem). 16000 mcg/contianer divided by 200 mcg/day = 80 mcg = dasy supply Hope this helps those who needed to see this worked out. Where does one get the 16000mcg/container? You would have to see the containers label for that. Respectfully, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner " " 1) flonase 16gm 2 sprays per nostril (1 spray=50ug) once daily for a total daily dose 200ug " " Jeanetta's Response: I would say there is something wrong with # 1 question: 50 ug or 50 micrograms x 2 spratys once a day is 100 ug total daily dose, NOT 200 ug total daily dose. 2) neosporin opth. onitment 3.5gm apply a thin strip(approx= 1cm ou q3-4h x 7-10d (hint: 100mg per eye per application is a useful estimate) Jeanetta's response: 3.5 gram x 1000mg/gm = 3500 mg 3500mg/100mg/ application = 35 days supply 3)Vanceril inhaler 17gm 2 sprays (42ug/spray) po qid Jeanetta's response: Well I believe vanceril has 200 actuations or sprays per container therefore 2 x 4 = 8 sprays per day. 200sprays/ 8 sprays /day = 25 days supply or Karin or Della??? Guest guest
Second correction! Guest guest
This is a conversion factor: 1 Kg = 1000 gm 1 gram = 1000 mg 1 mg = 1000 mcg 16 gram = 16 gm x 1000mcg/gram 106m = 16000 mcg 3.5 gram = 3.5gm x 1000mg/1 gm 3.5 gm = 3500 mg Hope this helps! Guest guest
actually it was given in the problem and I showed how I got it. the problem said flonase 16gm i guess i missed a step (I'm good at that) I did say 1000mcg/1gm therefore 16gm=16000mcg (16x1000) (there is the skipped step) " " 1) flonase 16gm 2 sprays per nostril (1 spray=50ug) once daily for a total daily dose 200ug " " Jeanetta's Response: I would say there is something wrong with # 1 question: 50 ug or 50 micrograms x 2 spratys once a day is 100 ug total daily dose, NOT 200 ug total daily dose. 2) neosporin opth. onitment 3.5gm apply a thin strip(approx= 1cm ou q3-4h x 7-10d (hint: 100mg per eye per application is a useful estimate) Jeanetta's response: 3.5 gram x 1000mg/gm = 3500 mg 3500mg/100mg/ application = 35 days supply 3)Vanceril inhaler 17gm 2 sprays (42ug/spray) po qid Jeanetta's response: Well I believe vanceril has 200 actuations or sprays per container therefore 2 x 4 = 8 sprays per day. 200sprays/ 8 sprays /day = 25 days supply or Karin or Della??? Guest guest
For FLONASE 16GM If 1gram = 1000mg so 16grams = 16,000mg and if 1mg = 1000 mcg therefore 16,000mg = 16,000,000 mcg for 2) neosporin opth. onitment 3.5gm = 3,500mg > > apply a thin strip(approx= 1cm ou q3-4h x 7-10d) = 6-8times a day for 7-10days > > (hint: 100mg per eye per application is a useful estimate) if we use 100mg per eye per application, we use 200mg for both eyes per application therefore: 200mg x 8times a day = 1600mg /day 3,500mg /1600mg = 2days I am planning to take the exam next month. I'm using Delmar Learning's Pharmacy Technician Certification Review, 2nd Edition by K. . Thanks to Jeannetta and to those who in one way or another contribute and share their knowledge, ideas, and opinion here. I definitely learn a lot here. I have pretty much all that you would need to study any specific subject. Going to tutorials in Folder #5 will help you. Just scroll throught the topics and you WILL find what you need. But IF it is not there do not hesitate to ask. has a fairly older way to place documents in the files section. So there is no INDEXING per se. So I have to do it all by hand. I do that by Folder Topic/Subject names andmyown numbering system, which I explain in one of my automatic emails that you first got when you became a member. Here are some LINKS for some hospital stuff! There are more, but this is the stuff that I was looking for that I do not have enough of in the files section: Links > L 5 Tutorial L - 1 and Study Information > L - 7 Automation and Robotics Hope this helps. After the exam perhapsyou can return to THIS site and let others know which folders/tutorials/links from my site have helped you the MOST to prepare for the exam. Thank you so much for your question: Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner PS Please report any links or documents that do not open up or work any more. > > havent worked in an hospital pharmacy before heard alot of problems on the test is on hospital pls help me on what i need to know pls >

Guest guest
Sorry, Elaine, you won't be able to use those sweet, starchy, or otherwise carbohydrate-rich foods while reversing your dysbiosis and candida. What you need to realize is that many people who write candida guidelines are unfamiliar with the facts. These include the fact that the pathogens and candidas do very well on a high-carb diet, better than you do in fact. Yes you can use lactose-free milk, and after you've been using inulin for awhile and your gut biology is correct again you'll find lactose intolerance becomes absent too, as you become able to use more carbs generally. Guest guest
TJ, you don't say whether or not your doctor is Lyme literate, but it sure doesn't sound like it. At this stage, doxy alone is not going to help her. To cure the disease, she needs to take several specific antibiotics in a combo, which requires a special kind of doctor. Between now and the time you find a Lyme-literate doc, though, there are also a lot of self-help things you can do at home to control the symptoms -- though they won't deliver a cure. A few starters: 1. You should start by asking your family doctor for a referral for a sleep study, so she can get her sleep issues addressed. It should help the pain a lot. 2. She should also be tested for adrenal and thyroid problems, and reproductive hormone imbalances (her missed periods suggest this is really messed up). Try to get the doc to use natural treatments: if she needs thyroid, ask for Armour; if she needs hormone replacement, as for natural HRT and don't let her on the Premarin they'll try to give her. They'll just mess her up worse. A lot of Lyme symptoms are due to severely screwed up hormones. Getting them back in balance won't make the Lyme go away, but it will make life soooo much more bearable. 3. Some supplements to try: Niacin for the brain fog. Magnesium and B6 (together) for the body aches. Vitamin D on general principles (almost all Lymies are low in this). B12 for the neurological issues. DLPA and/ or lithium orotate if she's showing signs of severe depression. There are plenty more, but this is a good start. All of these are available without prescription online or at a good vitamin store. Also: Try to get your hands on a copy of " Under Our Skin, " if you haven't seen it already. You'll learn a lot more about what you're up against. If you need a referral to a doc in New Jersey, let this list know, and people in the region will contact you off-list with suggestions. Guest guest
Is your wife also taking detox supplements and things to help with the herx reactions? My daughter got very sick on antibiotics and the pain was unbearable because of the die off. It sounds like maybe this is what is happening with your wife. The antibiotics may indeed be helping but her body can't keep up with clearing out the toxins... > > my name is TJ my wife has acronic acute lymes we have bin fighting it for almost 8 months with no help > she has bin on all finds of antibics from dockci to cuprax > cuprax she is on now it seemed to help for about 3 days then right back to where we were before. > she has bin taking ockycottin just to releave some of the pain but she cant drive for fear of falling a sleep. the pain is so unbearable the ocycottin did not take it all away. we are having no luck at all the anibotics do seem to help what so ever. > her syptoms are fatuge, muscle pain, joint pain, all around pain, headaches, missed menstation, some brain fog,so depression, trouble swallowing, body twitch, dizzyness, numbness.my wife is a very tuff women but i dont know how much more she can take > what can I do is there any treatments that will help or something to try. > we are from new jersey but the tick that bite her was from florida on vacation. the rash took up her whole right leg. and it is all downhill form there. > > please any help would be great >

Guest guest
> > Hey flushing Phyllis here!! I am having a massive flush. I'm shaking and feeling very nervous. Also a little weak. I'm actually calming down as I'm writing--but I feel like my ears are clogged?? like my head is clogged--I look like a tomato--this morning I got up, did dry skin brushing and took an epsom salt bath in an effort to shake off the last night blues. Wow, I didn't increase my intake-still at 100 mg and some of the flushes have been ok-just one that was kind of major-but this one is like wow! Is it normal to feel nervous from the flush? is it just in my head? I used to get nervous attacks(mostly after smoking weed) is this my body retracing that nervousness? wow what's up with the ear clogging (one just popped) I can take the red tomato part-I actually am kind of hoping that this means my body is trying to purge all those toxins like I've read about. there goes the other ear. wow, what a trip! Luv,Phyllis Hi Phyllis And very brave of you. You are on your way to excellent health. I remember the first time my then 13 year old daughter accepted a niacin from me. She was scared and she is an old hand at it now. Neal >
Guest guest
Dear Rosemary, By now you have recieved two emaisl from me privately about some job openings in Grand Rapids and other parts of MI. In addition Rosemary: I hate to paint a dim picture, but I feel I must be honest. You live in Michigan, the number 1 state of unemployment as of November 2008. http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/state_unemployment/ California was second at that time. Michigan remains low as of June 19, 09 but California changed position to 5th! http://money.cnn.com/2009/06/19/news/economy/State_unemployment_report http://www.bls.gov/web/laumstrk.htm (May 2009) http://www.cnbc.com/id/26946245/?slide=11 (Slide show of cities) ¡§But numbers also show job losses have slowed in recent months (MI).¡¨ http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/index.ssf/2009/04/michigan_continues\ _to_have_hig.html Because there are so many people (auto workers) out of work, and many of them are opting not to have medical insurance; because they can not afford it, less people are having elective surgeries. Therefore there are less patients in Dr¡¦s offices and in hospitals. Less patients means a smaller workforce (RN¡¦s RPh¡¦s, Rx Techs, PT¡¦s, RT¡¦s etc) is needed. Many hospitals have laid-off, down sized or cut employee hours or have a hiring freeze right now. This means especially less pharm tech jobs at hospitals in MI. As for retail or other types of pharmacy, it means the same since the same reasons apply. YET more people will pay for a doctor¡¦s visit if it is of great concern, but not surgery involved. Sp there may be more hiring at retail than in hospital. It is an employer¡¦s market right now: meaning that employer¡¦s have their pick of experienced techs who just got laid off, trying to pick up extra hours etc. A few hospitals that need to hire, will try to cut cost by hiring experienced retail techs and train them instead of experienced hospital techs. Likewise a few retail that need to hire may hire newbies instead of experienced retail techs. Keep your eyes open for these types of openings. My advice (which you may not want to hear): While you are trying to get your foot in the door as a pharmacy technician in Michigan, try volunteering to get some experience. And also take a part-time job doing any thing you feel comfortable doing ¡Kuntil your get enough experience to get hired at a pharmacy and continue seeking pharm tech job while working elsewhere (non-pharmacy) for income and volunteering at a pharmacy (and learning). You may have a poorly constructed resume. You must have some PUNCH to that resume! Try using my tutorials on Building Resumes or send your resume to me for a critique. Some employers may have an opening, but think that the applicants who are displaced auto workers will not make good techs. I am not sure if you are a displaced auto worker, but in either case you will need to convince them that you are technical, mathematical, organized, fast learner (will pick up skills easily and quickly), detail oriented, a good team player and dependable. You may also try a medical employment agency to secure your first tech job. Over All HEALTHCARE is the biggest employer all around. Think about this: people suffer emergencies, auto accidents, and heart attacks whether they re insured or not. So do not feel as if you have wasted you time studying, think of it as you are ahead of the game. When openings exist you will already have what you need in Michigan to get hired. Your post here ¡¥may¡¦ help someone find you! ƒº Let¡¦s hope! IF anyone else has any good ¡¥pointers¡¦ please respond as well. Most respectfully, Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner I have more on this stuff in subsequent posts. > > Dear Jeanettas, I need help finding a pharmacy technician job here in Grand Rapids. I have tried all the pharmacy chains also family pharmacies as well as the hospitals. > > I applied for a pharmacy tech II job but was not considered because I do not have any experence in this field. Any suggestions you can give me would be welcomed. I really need to find something real soon. > > Rosemary >

Guest guest
Dear Annie, Brucellosis can cause all the symptoms you are having including the fever (an alternate name is undulant fever), enlarged lymph nodes, joint pain, night sweats etc. etc. Also deer can carry it. Also dogs can get their own specific kind that occasionally can transmit to humans but not usually. Another way to get it is through unpasturized milk because cattle easily carry it and it causes loss of pregnancies in cattle and deer etc. Well Brucellosis is definitely a possibility. There are blood tests and antibiotics are the treatment. Let's hope this is it because it is treatable. When I took Medical Bacteriology, I remember studying this infection in the context of people working in the animal (esp cattle) industry - ranchers, dairy farmers, butchers and hunters - that sort of profession or past-time. It's not the sort of infection a doctor would suspect in a poet, but since you live in a rural area, it's possible.
