Guest guest
Having a red face and feeling flushed is common sign of people undergoing testosterone replacement. Testosterone stimulates the production of red blood cells. A little this is a good thing but too much of this causes problems. Some people refer this this as " thick blood " . Hemoglobin, RBC's, RDW, Hematocrit and several other test values correlate with this. The fix for this is phlebotomy, A.K.A. bloodletting. After 18 months of TRT, my red blood cells were dangerously high. After a period of monthly checks and few bloodlettings where they threw the blood away, I started donating at my local community blood center. They always test hemoglobin before you donate, and my hemoglobin has gone from over 18 to 15.1 with donations every 2-3 months. If your hemoglobin goes to high the blood center can't use your blood, and they will probably send you back to your doctor for evaluation. Your goal should be to keep your hemoglobin in the normal range. Most of the other red blood cell related measurements will probably fall in line. Randy Hoops > > 3. I feel hot, and get flush/ed a lot. My face and neck are fairly red a lot of the time. No, the fix is to take less more often. Getting thyroid optimal will let you take less. You are ODing on the testosterone to make up for the lack of thyroid. SHBG comes into play here with thyroid raising it, which allows your testosterone to last longer. If you donate blood more than twice a year, you will be depleting your ferritin (stored iron), which leads to OTHER problems, including suboptimal thyroid function in your body. You may still produce enough thyroid hormone, but your body won't be able to use it without adequate ferritin. The recommendation to phlebotomize often is VERY BAD ADVICE and someone on this list can testify to that. He did double RBCs until his body just about " broke. Guest guest
If high estrogen causes a red face, why don't women of childbearing years have red faces? Guest guest
Because ample estrogen is NORMAL in women. Now ask what happens when a woman has high testosterone. It's called PCOS and results in infertility and masculine features and insulin resistance, all not normal. High estrogen in men causes ED, red face, anxiety, water retention, etc. Stop your Arimidex and see how you feel. > > > > > > Having a red face and feeling flushed is common sign of people undergoing testosterone replacement. > > > > This is from high estrogen. > > >
Guest guest
The only time I've ever had a red face was when my BP was too high. It was from low thyroid and went away as that was raised. Progesterone helps thyroid utilization in the body. That's why women become hypo at menopause. Guest guest
What does Progesterone do for men? Glen From: <hostmaster@...> Subject: RE: Re: Been on TRT almost 6 months..Almost dialed in.- Red Blood Cells Date: Tuesday, November 23, 2010, 8:55 AM  Hi Randy, Actually, some women do. When a woman has too much estrogen but not enough progesterone to balance the estrogen, a red face and chest can occur. This happened to my girlfriend. Once she started to take bio-identical progesterone, the redness started to go away. It could also have to do with blood pressure. Once my girlfriend started the progesterone, her blood pressure went down, too. Guest guest
Hi Glen, I have heard of some men using progesterone, but I believe it is usually discouraged. From what I remember, progesterone can cause moodiness and can cause you to become more emotional. I really don’t know much about men using progesterone. Guest guest
If you open this link to a Steroid Tree you will see hormones start with Chol. then go into Pregnenolone From this it goes into Progesterone and this is the best way to raise your levels. Progesterone is a feminizing hormone and most men don't do well taking it. It's better to take Progesterone in cream forum and let this convert into the hormones your body needs. I use Life-Flo Natural Pregnenolone Cream. http://www.vitaminusa.com/prbocr2ozbyl.html Co-Moderator Phil > > > From: <hostmaster@...> > Subject: RE: Re: Been on TRT almost 6 > months..Almost dialed in.- Red Blood Cells > > Date: Tuesday, November 23, 2010, 8:55 AM > > > > > > > Hi Randy, > > Actually, some women do. > > When a woman has too much estrogen but not enough > progesterone to balance > the estrogen, a red face and chest can occur. Guest guest
Pregnenolone is more often used, however Progesterone is also used in HRT in small amounts as it is said to lower E2 and balance things out, it depends on the person how it works. ________________________________ From: <hostmaster@...> Sent: Tue, November 23, 2010 11:35:42 AM Subject: RE: Re: Been on TRT almost 6 months..Almost dialed in.- Red Blood Cells Hi Glen, I have heard of some men using progesterone, but I believe it is usually discouraged. Guest guest
Most men at Dr. 's forum that tried this ended up with higher levels of Estradiol on Prog. Dr. says this is a feminizing hormone that men should not take.
