Hi Phil,

I got this email today. I asked the lab, as you can read below, about this thing

with shipping blood and such. Hertoghe didn't tell me what she is telling me

below. He just told me to do another test! Weird.

REPLY FROM ROMAN PAIS LAB IN BELGIUM:

" Hello,

In response to your questions:

- to provide accurate information, a control should always be on the same

sample

- drug treatment based on testosterone may induce fluctuating estradiol

levels, due to the partial metabolism of testosterone to estradiol

- Moreover, in no case the transport of samples is to blame in this

difference

Subject : Urgent question: Trustworthy results?

Hello,

My name is Hoifors, and I live in Norway. I am a patient with Dr.

Theirry Hertoghe at his clinic. I've been there 2 times, and will go there

again in mid-February this year.

You have analyzed 3 blood samples at your lab for him/me. I draw the blood

at my family doctors office, straight into the tubes, and ship them to you

with DHL the same day, without sentrifuging/treating the plasma at all

before shipping, AS PER YOUR (RP-LAB's) REQUEST.

Lately I've been starting to question the trusthworthiness of this whole

procedure of shipping blood over 2-3 days to another country, in the mail.

In mid-December, as per my latest blood sample results from your lab, my

Estradiol was at 69 pg/mL. The blood was draw at 11 am, fasting, after

getting up from bed.

I repeated the same sample almost 1 month later, a few days ago, at the

same family doctor, but had Estradiol analyzed at a local laboratory at a

hospital nearby. (it takes 10-15 minutes to drive the blood from the

family doctor to the laboratory!)

Estradiol came back as 0.08 nmol/l. That labs range is <0.18 nmol/l for

Estradiol.

My HUGE question is therefore: How on earth can YOUR results give me a

super high more-than-twice-the-top-range reusult of Estradiol (69 pg/mL,

range: <30 pg/mL) when I didn't do ANY changes to medicines or anything

else, and one month later the result is normal at half the range, 0.08

nmol/l, range: <0.18 nmol/l ?????

I almost started to take Arimidex because of the result from your lab. I

will now NOT take Arimidex, cause it seems I don't need to lower my

Estradiol anyway.

I am hugely confused, and have already emailed Dr. Hertoghe about this

Can you please shed some light on this whole problem for me? Regarding

shipping blood to you, from Norway to Belgium, and if that is really ok

doing without treating the blood in any way first? And if I can trust ANY

of my sample results from your lab the past year at all?

Thanks a lot!

Best Regards,

Hoifors in Norway

How many tests did you do with Dr. Hertoghe that showed your Estradiol levels

high and the other labs showed you lower. I don't know what to tell you Quest

labs came out with a ultra-sensitive Estraidol test range was <29 men were being

told there levels were <2 all over the country this is not possable. To prove my

point to men doing this test I did them both in the same day. The Ultra test

come back saying <2 and the Senitive test #4021 showed my levels at 29 the new

Ultra test was a bad test today it still has problems.

How do you feel I don't go by labs for my Estraiadol If I have sore and hard

nipples, ED, feel hot and sweat easy, look rea on my upper body and face and I

am holding a lot of water with brain fog I know my levels are high.
