Guest guest
Hi Lee and welcome, Most naturopathic Dr.'s are dam good on hormones but I never heard of Testosterone drops at one time there were pills you could take but they were bad for ones liver. How do you take them drops do you rub it on your arms if so with the change in the dose I don't feel you levels are going to come up much. It you take this oil by mouth this is not good on the liver. I say this because your Thyroid is bad and men with a bad Thyroid have a thicker skin and the oil, creams or gels can't get through your skin. Men on compounded creams or Androgel even Testism don't do well when they have a thyroid problem. I can't remember what it's called but there skin gets thicker and the creams, oils or gels down get though the skin. You need to give this a try do labs and if your levels don't go up switch to shots. Starting at 100 IU's per day. Your SHBG is low much like mine so your Estradio levels can be much lower most men do good at 20 pg/ml but with an SHBG this low you can do better at about 15 pg/ml. You will know when you hit the right level you will get some night time and morning wood back. I has not had it for over 30 yrs and when I hit the sweet spot for my Estradiol levels my wood came back and it fixed my ED problems. Still I worried about it staying up and would lose it for sex so my Dr. put me on Cialis 20 mgs every 3 days this fixed the problem and helped keep my BP levels down. You might try putting your DIM in a teaspoon and adding some Olive oil to it so it dose not get killed in your stomach. As for your Thyroid Erfa is great but how do your Cotrisol levels look if your low going up on this dose can pool in your blood and not get carried out of your blood into your cells you need Cortisol good levels to do this. I would get a 4 x's in a day saliva test and see how your rhythm looks. http://livingnetwork.co.za/hormones/adrenal-fatigue/ I have a sticky on how I got started treating my Adrenals and Thyroid read this it's full of info and even shows you how you can take your Temps and chart them to keep track on how your doing. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=24 I feel your Dr. is doing a good job by you and if Dr. Goldman is a Endo for get it. Endo's and Uro's are not good Dr.'s for your problem. Bio-Identical Hormones are a buzz word all Testosterone hormones are made from Yams and Bio. Go to Dr. 's site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and His HCG Update print this out and give it to your Dr. Dr. puts this out there free for you and your Dr. he is one of the best Dr.'s out there for low Testosterone. www.allthingsmale.com And read these links. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 Co-Moderator Phil > From: tamarastacy@... <tamarastacy@...> > Subject: Hello-New here, need advice > > Date: Monday, March 8, 2010, 1:21 PM > My name is Lee, and I am 54 years > old. Guest guest
Do these drops go under your tongue? There are compounded forms of sublingual testosterone. ________________________________ From: " tamarastacy@... I have had problems with ED now for 21 years, I was recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, low testosterone (at 271), and high blood pressure/glucose intolerance issues. I am also about 75 lbs. overweight for my frame. My wife badgered me into finally seeing a naturopathic doc, and we found the issue with the hypothyroidism and testosterone. He started me on Natural Armour from Canada, ERFA 30 mg, DIM 100 mg. a day, and testosterone oil drops compounded, 4 drops a day (which was too low for me-he made a mistake on the dosing, leading me to my current problems). I also take Atenenol for HBP. I went back in for another lab draw 6 weeks after first seeing him, and we noticed my Total testosterone was at 191.05, lab range: 350-890. He saw his mistake and apologized profusely, and put me on 8 drops twice a day-he said my testes were pretty much shut down from being that low. In the meantime, I've made an appointment with another doc who has more experience with bio-identical hormones for men, but that appointment is not until July-a Doc Goldman from Atlanta. I've posted my latest lab results below. Can you guys tell me what to expect and what to actually do beyond this point in regards to further testing each time I go in to have labs drawn? What can I expect in terms of my ED getting better? Do you think this doc has me on the right course here? Any advice appreciated, I'm not exactly in the medical profession, so all this is very new for me.
