Guest guest
My thyroid labs from last month were: Dose NT: 2 3/4 grains FT4 1.2 (0.8-1.8) FT3 3.4 (2.3-4.2) TSH 0.01 RT3 25 (11-32) The rest of my saliva results are: Estradiol 38.2 (1.3-3.3) Progesterone 15 (75-270) e/p ratio: 0 Testosterone: 44 (16-55) DHEA-S 11.9 (2-23) I am on three pumps of estrogel, naturethyroid, vitamins d, c, b12, bcomplex, magnesium, folic acid, selenium, zinc, cod liver oil, glycine. I had an ablation in September so I was told I didn't need to take progesterone plus when I would take it I would get migraines and be suicidal. The anxiety is over the top as is the depression. Originally when I started estrogen, it helped with the anxiety. I weaned off the HC because I was having high blood pressure, rage, weight gain. When I weaned off my temps became stable. I still don't understand that one. I really don't know what to do at this point.. NOW I am getting the ocular migraines, shaking and feeling really out of sorts. Guest guest
Lori, Post all your labs we have Dr.'s that come here and other women. Your Cortisol levels are low your rithuym is off. How were your E's were they high this can give you anxiety and if your Testosterone is off this dose not help. Guest guest
Lori, Your thyroid looks OK but your Estradiol E2 is very high and I feel doing this to you. And your Prog. is low. I don't feel it was the HC meds doing this to you it's your E2 levels are very high stop your E2 meds see if this stops. If it does talk to your Dr. about cutting back on the dose. Guest guest
When I try to lower the estrogen, I get ocular migraines... I have tried to lower the dose last cycle and it was horrible... What should I do about the cortisol labs?? I really do not want to go back on cortisol... You talk about pregnelone.. I had blood labs drawn but can't get a copy of them and he tested my preg level... I do not tolerate progesterone... I had high liver enzymes and postive for EBV right now... I have been using milk thistle for my liver... I am so confused. I have been listening to my doctor and now look where I am!!! I am so upset!!! :-( Having this inability to handle stress and having anxiety/depression is over the top for me... Thanks for helping!! Guest guest
If you can't handle PROG. try PREG. by LIFE-FLO. http://www.iherb.com/Life-Flo-Health-Organic-Living-Pregnenolone-2-oz-57-g/15119\ ?at=0 My levels were very low I did this for about 2 weeks went in to do my labs for TRT and tested Preg. levels the went from very low to 74 that fast. All you can do it try it and some of this will convert into cortiosl. My cortisol on meds 30 mgs of HC / day after taking 10 mgs in the morning we run a morning fasting cortisol test to be sure I am not on to much HC meds. causing Cushing's. My morning fasting cortisol went up from 12 to 20 on Preg. Guest guest
Lori, I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly. I've read low cortisol enhances conversion to estrogen, so that may be part of your problem. Based on your labs, I would suggest cutting back on the estrogen and adding some progesterone, but you said that makes you feel awful, so others factors like your EBV may be complicating things. Thyroid is at the minimum of what Dr. no calls optimal, so you'd have room to raise, but IIRC, you said that also made you feel worse. Hysterectomy or not, a woman should still have balanced E and P. I don't know why docs don't get that. It's not just for reproductive function. How is your iron/ferritin? Sorry I can't be of more help. Guest guest
Thank you, everyone. I have to wait to get my pregnelone labs until Thursday when I see the doc... I am willing to try it... Something has to change.. Thinking of trying the patch again- at least it will be easier to control the reduction... Guest guest
Yes if it were me I would but I am not a Dr. can't tell you what to do. Your rhythm is off your low in the morning when you need it going higher noon through mid day in time this can keep up and you can become high at night and not sleep. It takes a A lot of Preg. cream to get Cortisol levels up men at Dr. 's are using this to come off HC meds it is working for some not so good for others. As for myself I would rather take HC pills then greasing my self up with a lot of Preg. cream to get Cortisol levels up. Still if you want to read up on doing this read the Sticky at Dr. 's forum " Hormones 101 " by chilln. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/showthread.php?15290-Hormones-101 Co-Moderator Phil > From: alagonza2000 <alagonza2000@...> > Subject: Re: ZRT Labs in > > Date: Tuesday, March 29, 2011, 12:09 PM > Ok. If I am looking at my > cortisol level- do you feel it is bad enough to > go back on HC? My zinc is low so would using zinc > during the High times help > Lower it? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I was off HC for 5 1/2 > weeks when > > > I did > > > > > these labs. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am female and I have > posted here > > > in the > > > > > past but I > > > > > > > don't know what I would need > to do at > > > this point > > > > > because I > > > > > > > do have bad anxiety in the > mornings > > > and > > > > > afternoon.. I > > > > > > > am currently on 2 1/4grains > > > Naturethyroid. I > > > > > didn't > > > > > > > post my other labs since I am > female. > > > Just > > > > > looking for you > > > > > > > guys' recommendation since > you know > > > what you are > > > > > doing over > > > > > > > here!!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Lori > > > > > > > > --------- > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Cortisol: > > > > > > > > Morning 4.2 (3.7-9.5) > > > > > > > > Noon 3.7 H (1.2-3.0) > > > > > > > > Evening 2.5H (0.6-1.9) > > > > > > > > Night 0.5 (0.4-1.0) > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

If you have zero cycle, you can start anytime, but are still supposed to take at least a 3-day break on the progesterone. I do tri-est days 5-25,and progesterone gel (20 mg) days 12-25. These are some of the best books I've found that you might want to read up on. Your local library might have some of them. http://tiredthyroid.com/books.html Barb > > > > > > > > > > > > I was off HC for 5 1/2 weeks when I did these labs. > > > > > > > > > > > > I am female and I have posted here in the past but I > > > > > don't know what I would need to do at this point because I > > > > > do have bad anxiety in the mornings and afternoon.. I > > > > > am currently on 2 1/4grains Naturethyroid. I didn't > > > > > post my other labs since I am female. Guest guest
Hi Lori, Your thyroid may be able to increase a bit. I am not familiar with saliva testing of hormones, but based on the reference ranges you gave, your estradiol levels are way too high and your progesterone levels are way too low. Many doctors talk about estrogen relieving a whole bunch of symptoms in women, when in fact it can do just the opposite. If you do a search for " estrogen dominance " on the net, you will get more accurate results. My doctor also treats my girlfriend, my girlfriend's mother, my mother and my sister. Just like with men, our doctor says that too much estrogen in women will cause anxiety, depression, mood swings, water retention (and therefore high blood pressure), headaches, weight gain, insulin resistance, redness on the upper chest and face, trouble sleeping at night, lumps in the breasts, etc. Our doctor likes to prescribe Prometrium (the bio-identical Progesterone in a pill form) to counteract the effects of the estrogen. No one is taking any form of estrogen at all. My mother had suffered from depression for decades and no anti-depressant really worked that well. Since starting the Prometrium and adjusting her thyroid levels, the difference has been amazing. My mother is post-menopausal and already had a low estrogen level, but her progesterone level was almost zero. Even this small amount of estrogen was causing estrogen dominance for her. My girlfriend's mother was able to stop taking her diuretics and was able to stop taking her blood pressure meds after starting Prometrium. My girlfriend's depression, redness on chest and face, insulin resistance, headaches, and blood pressure all corrected themselves once she started on Prometrium, too. I do not understand why progesterone would cause migraines and make you suicidal. Obviously, I am not a doctor, but I wonder if you weren't taking enough progesterone and it was actually the high estrogen causing the symptoms. Or, maybe that particular form of progesterone didn't work for you? Maybe you reacted to a filler in the progesterone? Also, I am not as familiar with cortisol as other people like Phil and Barb; maybe they can offer some suggestions if they haven't done so already. I am currently on 2 1/4grains Naturethyroid. I didn't post my other labs since I am female. Guest guest
What is interesting is that I reduced my NT dose a couple of weeks ago because I was feeling so hyper- having the hyper symptoms. I am now at 2 1/4grains and am going to try going back up.. I have all of my parts so I don't know why I do not tolerate progesterone... I have been on the cream, the torches, Progon-B and gels. I had one naturopath tell me I had to raise it- it only made it worse. My estrogen at the time was LOW. The only other reason I can find is this from Dr Uzzi Reiss and his thought on why some women have a negative response to progesterone: ..theses women may have chronic viral syndrome, toxic black mold, Lyme disease, heavy metals, severe environmental allergies, or an increase of yeast growth. Until these conditions are resolved, these women will not be able to enjoy progesterone " . I got my labs back and I do have high aluminum, I have EBV that is active right now (don't feel it). I am working on a stool test right now to find out about the yeast, etc. I can't take prometrium since it is made with peanut oil and I have a peanut allergy... I like the idea of a pill over the transdermal as they are easier to control but I will either try the pregnelonone cream or the progesterone... Thanks again, everyone!!! > > > > I was off HC for 5 1/2 weeks when I did these labs. > > > > I am female and I have posted here in the past but I don't know what I > would need to do at this point because I do have bad anxiety in the mornings > and afternoon..
