Guest guest
Got the same problem hematocrit keeps on climbing if I do not donate blood. Red cells just increases. Nothing helps... drink a lot of water already. My level is constantley above 50 %. You lle see..... donate blood to keep the hemaocrit down and your ferritin (iron STORES) will go down. I tried lowering my depo Testosterone injection but that did not help much. Somone suggested I use oral Winstrol tablets. I you get an answer how to lower your hematocrit please let me know. > > > From: justinm <jtmoy19607@...> > > Subject: more on my labs > > > > Date: Tuesday, March 29, 2011, 5:25 AM > > also forgot, my hct is 52.9 range of > > 45-53. > > > > looks like polycythemia is active for me. > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > >
Guest guest
Test your Aldosterone mine are very low I am all ways Dehydrated and I need to take Florinef and Sea Salt added to my water to keep my sodium levels up. I also take Krill Oil capliques 1,000 mgs. 2 with food morning mercola.com. Much better the Fish Oil this helps keep ones blood thinner. And I take Aspirin 81 mg 2x’s/day. Still my blood it on the thick side but my Dr. says it is due to low Aldosterone and being Dehydrated all the time. My labs looked like this for the last 30 yrs. Hemoglobin 18.4 high range 13.2 – 17.1 g/dL. Note: high due to Dehydration from low Aldosterone. Hematocrit 54.3 high range 38.5 – 50.0 %. Note: high due to Dehydration from low Aldosterone. I also suffer from low Ferritin and have been on Iron pills for many yrs. So for me to give blood is nuts. Aldosterone is another hormone released from the adrenal cortex. It is a mineralocorticoid, meaning it regulates salt balance, specifically by retaining sodium and secreting potassium. ~ High Aldosterone causes high blood pressure and low potassium. ~ Low Aldosterone levels provide symptoms like low blood pressure, high pulse (especially on standing), salt cravings, dizziness and/or light headedness on standing and palpitations. In severe cases high potassium and low sodium is found in the blood. Low aldosterone induces more renin to be made from the kidney which is why renin is measured with aldosterone. It’s more typical for people with adrenal insufficiency to be low on cortisol but sufficient in aldosterone, but some people will have both. So, the usual recommendation is to start on Hydrocortisone and monitor to see if aldosterone would also be needed, if so Fludrocortisone (synthetic equivalent of aldosterone) commonly traded as Florinef, can be added.
