Guest guest
I just got my labs back yesterday. I was taking 1-1/8 grain Erfa as 1/4 grain before breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and 3/8 grain before bed. This was in addition to 75 mcg T4 way before breakfast. FT3 4.0 (2.3-4.2) FT4 1.4 (.8-1.8) TSH .01 On straight desiccated thyroid, my FT4 was always on the bottom of the range while FT3 was over mid-range. Because STTM'ers are so anti-T4, it never dawned on me to combine the two meds to reach MY optimal dose till I broke out of their myopic thinking. Now I tell everyone to use some desiccated, and to add T4 OR T3 as needed to get their optimal dose. And I'm gonna raise that final 1/8 grain that I wasn't sure about now. Other items of interest: my labs have showed thick blood in the past too, and it was anytime my desiccated dose was 1.75 grain or higher. I did find some research that showed too much T3 can thicken blood, and this latest lab shows me within range, now that I've dropped the T3 some and replaced it with T4. Before, I was always the top value or actually over. I do not take testosterone. Liver AST and ALT also went high on too much T3 and have since come down. I found that hyperthyroid cats have those labs lol! Have you ever heard Dr. Lowe speak? It's very slow and halting, like he's missing some T4! Guest guest
Well, I think I'm gonna give it another shot. . So, I'm on 80mcg of T3 only and I just got some naturthroid. I'm planning on grinding it up in a pistol and mortar before I ingest it to break the chemical bonds. How do you recommend I go about this? Thanks, Mike On Tue, Mar 29, 2011 at 10:05 AM, Barb <baba@...> wrote: > > > I just got my labs back yesterday. Guest guest
Barb, I first read about adding T4 to NTH meds long before I found STTM web site. Here is a link to Gail’s Thyroid Tips http://personal.lig.bellsouth.net/w/u/wurmstei/ I posted I was going to stop T4 only meds and go on NP Thyroid but when I seen my Dr. he changed his mind I am to stay on 150 mcgs. of generic Synthroid with 5 mcgs of T3 3x's per day. He feels if it's not broke why fix it. My Preg. and Prog. levels come down very low again he told me not to go on Preg. he feels you can't tell what the blood labs are doing it's about being shut down using Preg. and now knowing it from blood labs he says we don't know what is going on in the cells and adding all this can shut one down and end up low in the cells. But this is about me and my labs that he says this. Guest guest
All I can say is go slowly. 1 grain NT has 38 mcg T4 and 9 mcg T3. I would start switching out 1/4 grain and I know I already wrote a post about how to start. You're supposed to wait 6 weeks to see the full effects of any T4 conversion. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > hey group, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I recently started getting dandruff. Guest guest
First I would not use naturthroid they changed the fillers on it much like Armour did and it's crap for most people using it. I would go to Walgreen's and get NP Thyroid this you can put under your tongue like we did the old Armour. So if you get 60 mgs tabs but them into 4 parts start with 30 mgs hold this for about 2 weeks the add 15 mgs more keep doing this across the day until your doing 90 mgs then hold this 8 week and do labs see how your labs look and how your feeling. As for how to come off T3 only doing I can't say you need to play with this to see how you feel. My self I would just drop the T3 cold and go on the 30 mgs see how you feel. Your not going to feel great you need to tough this out for a few weeks until the NP thyroid starts working. Co-Moderator Phil > > > > > > > I just got my labs back yesterday. Guest guest
No but talk to people that are using it it just came out it is called NP Thyroid at MedCo they list it yet called my Dr.'s Office asking why he did not want Armour. I am so sick of them people they horass you and your Dr. so much you feel like just paying for your meds your self there drug care plain through my work is not worth all the trouble. They list NP Thyorid in this meds. list but call my Dr. trying to get him to switch to the new Armour this is use less. WalGreen's sells NP Thyroid if I can't use this I will stay on T4 only with T3. Guest guest
All thyroid meds can be taken sublingually. They'll absorb better anyway and there's less interference from foods. -Nigel On 29 March 2011 12:38, Rouse <michael.hugh.rouse@...> wrote: > Phil, > > Just ordered it from Walgreens. Guest guest
Levoxyl has cellulose in it, so I'd wonder how well it would absorb. http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?id=7937 " Microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate " Croscarmellose sodium is also a type of cellulose. How about Tirosint? It's gluten-free. Guest guest
t-4 from levothyroxine caused me the worst thyroid symptoms almost resulted in losing my job because of how hyper and wound up I was from excessive NE. 5 weeks blood levels of t4 where tanks. My t-3 levels are good my t4 levels are below reference range.
