Guest guest
Thanks for the reply and the link, I'll dig into it. Unfortunately he won't proscribe HCG... period. He even went on to say that the T that I'd be taking would HELP my fertility and increase the size of my testes etc. Which is contrary to everything I've read, both on forums and in medical papers. He said that he wanted me to take the 5g dose the first month to " get used to it " .. then increase it to 10g to get me to the " proper levels " . My kinda plan is to well, let him think I'm taking the T but in reality take the hcg... that way he'll order the labs I need to make sure things are balanced and that my kidneys, liver etc. etc. aren't suffering. I'm still not sure I want to do this as I don't like being anything other than fully honest. The other option that I thought of was to do those mail-in saliva tests... they're cheap enough that I could afford to do them once in a while.... not often maybe, but a few times a year at least. As for where I'm at, I'm in North Central PA... Philly is about 3.5-4 hours from me. I'm really hoping the HCG works that fast. But will be patient with it. I'll give it at least TWO days! ;-) LostOne0069 On 1/27/2010 7:58 PM, wrote: > > I can't think of any good reason to start with 5 gms of T if there is no > plan to test before upping to the 10gm dose.... better to just start at > 10 gms. > > Here is some support and guidance about hCG > http://www.allthingsmale.com/word_docs/HCGupdate.doc > <http://www.allthingsmale.com/word_docs/HCGupdate.doc> > > Being Secondary you may get some good T production with regular hCG use. > Would your doctor prescribe as a trial? Guest guest
Your Dr. an Endo is not up on TRT he is trying but you don't go on 5 g's of gel then go up to 10 g's with out testing first. Most good Dr. will start you on 5 g's then test you in 2 weeks to be sure the dose is working and the gel is getting through your skin. Here is what I tell me starting on gels. ======================================================================== Yes this happens a lot you start on a low starting dose 5 grams when your brain sees the testosterone in your blood even just a little it slows down even stops sending the LH and FSH message to your testis to make the Testosterone you were making. So lets say your labs for Total T were 350 you add this dose of gel your brain sees this and you lose the base level you had before the gel. Now lets say you need more then 5 grams most do so now all your left with is what the gel is doing so lets say it's doing 200 so you lost 150. The reason you feel good is your levels go up that 200 the gel is doing in the first 2 weeks so your levels go up to 550 in theory. The brain sees this and you fall back. Why can this happen it might be how your putting on the gel with Androgel you need to spread it over your upper arms and shoulders and down your back as far as you can reach this is half of your dose then do the other side. Just spread it over the area but don't rub it in. The other thing is it's not getting through your skin good so you need more. If you have a thyroid problem your skin will become thicker and gels and creams don't get through the skin and you need to switch to shots. I tell men when they go on Gels to retest in 2 weeks because you can end up feeling worse. Most me just need more gel. Dr.'s that tell men to go on 5 grams of gel and come back in 8 to 12 weeks for labs don't know much about the use of gels. Dr.'s that treat a lot of men for low T on gels see this happen and test them again in 2 weeks. Call your Dr. and tell him this and that your not feeling good you were but fell back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- You got some good input from and yes if you can see Hardasnails and Dr. O do it or see if your Family Dr. will work with Dr. over the phone this way your Family Dr. will learn about TRT on your dime. www.allthingsmale.com when you go to his site read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG Update he puts this out there free for you and your Dr. You say your Secondary I am it's called for men Hypopituitary mine is due to a head injury. Can you get your labs and post them with the units and ranges. This helps if you are Secondary you need all your Hormones tested for some people with a Pituitary Problem they don't make enough of all the hormones. Most Dr.'s will not see this they look for you to be in the range yet for things like Cortisol and Thyroid labs might be in range but your still to low. Men that are Secondary adding HCG acts like LH and it will make your Testis make there own Testosterone. And being on gels if your Thyroid is low your skin can become thinker and gels don't get through. Why pay a Dr. to treat you then go behind his back and add HCG this is nuts find a good Dr. Co-Moderator Phil > > > > I can't think of any good reason to start with 5 gms > of T if there is no > > plan to test before upping to the 10gm dose.... better > to just start at > > 10 gms. > > > > Here is some support and guidance about hCG > > http://www.allthingsmale.com/word_docs/HCGupdate.doc > > <http://www.allthingsmale.com/word_docs/HCGupdate.doc> > > > > Being Secondary you may get some good T production > with regular hCG use. > > Would your doctor prescribe as a trial?
