Guest guest
Hi Sheila thanks for the suggestions i take 3 NAE in morning and 1 about 12-30p.m. do you think i need to up the dosage on them i bought 3 tubs when they were on offer so i have plenty or do you think i need something else. Regarding T4 do i ask my G.P.for a prescription or do i buy it my self i have not seen my G.P. since i started armour and he insisted on a blood test and i had only been on armour 2 weeks results were fine.I intended to go for a blood test when i reach my sweet spot,i wanted to get my results put them on the forum and get the advice i needed so i could be ready with my answers for him (i am awful arent i ). I have seen him twice since February and he has not mentioned my armour or thyroid at all. by the way i did not mean anything nasty about Diane i know what sterling work she does for all thyroidians nothing is more frustrating when you have a point to put across and you cant because of other mindless people. Guest guest
I think in the first instance, as this is an experiment on your part, I would buy 25 mcgs myself. It may not work, but if it does, and you start to feel much better, then yes, I would definitely discuss this with your GP and tell him why. Never take any thyroid medication on the day before your blood test, as you might bet a skewed reading, and if possible, stay off it for as long as you can. He will insist on blood tests, but being on Armour, he should realise that because you are taking all the thyroid hormones, there will be no reading for TSH as it will naturally be completely suppressed. Your Free T3 and Free T4 will be high (possibly very high) in the range - and these will be unlike the test results they would expect for anybody taking synthetic L-thyroxine. We have to get this through to our doctors, because they are quite simply not taught the reason why tests results are different for those on natural thyroid extract. Guest guest
I like the generic from Mylan I get at Target. I did NOT like Synthroid and don't know if all my aches when switching over were from the Synthroid, or from truly being that low, though I'm inclined to believe it was the Synthroid. I had added 25 mcg, then 50 with the generic with no problem. It was only going to 75 on Synthroid I got all achy. People seem to like Levoxyl and Tirosint. And yes, I would switch over gradually, 25 mcg at a time, that's what I did. T4 has some non-genomic effects, which means it does some stuff before it gets into the cell's nucleus that T3 does not. You can google " non-genomic T4 " to read more. There was a study that showed brain function on pure T3 was not quite as " normal " as when T3+T4 was used. T4 also lengthens the hair growth phase. DH says I'm more pleasant now that my T3 is mostly from conversion. Body looks better, hair growing in. I think my rT3 is high but I'm gonna ignore it, since that works better for me and I find the rT3 protocol flawed in logic.
