Guest guest
HI Gene, I couldn't believe they are going to take you off the medicine. You have been such a great trooper. I hope you can find another Dr. to take a look at your medical records. All my thoughts and prayers have been with you. You have always been so kind to me. Guest guest
Donna, Thanks for your concern. I'm uninsurable. I think the VA knows that many Vietnam veterans may be infected because of their service, and though they are not admitting liability, they are treating us. If a doctor refuses to treat me further right now, I doubt the VA would allow me to side step and go seek treatment at another VA facility. I could be wrong. I was having blood work done every two weeks (was on procrit and neupogen), but as it stands now, my next appointment is sceduled for 06/08/03 for CBC. My doc in Omaha will decide then whether nor not to scedule a biopsy. He's wanting to wait for newer developments in treatment. He took me off at week 21. I have enough meds for 24. I'm going to finish them up anyway. Take care, Hope you're well, Gene

Guest guest
HI.So at least yr Doc. is waiting for new developments inTX also.I had no reaction, except one,on my posting about new developments. One of t he new developments will be protease-blockers either mono or in combination with Ribavarine or Peg-interferon.Some yrs ago people where dying of aids, today,at least in the western world, nobody is dying of Aids anymore and live almost normal lives.That.s the way it will be with Hep-C.Even when the virus cannot,in some cases, being completely erradicated it can be kept in check. The virus is causing the damage,if the viral-load is low,the damage will be less or am I wrong. In a few yrs from now Hep-C. will be,at the worst,a treatable chronical disease of which you will not die and live a normal live.I hve great faith in science and all over the world they.re searching for cures. My concern is with the so-called third world where western medicines to combat HIV and Hep-C are not readily avaiable and people dying unneccesary Re: Doc Donna, Thanks for your concern. Guest guest
Doc....you are the main reason I am here...even though I haven't had much to post lately. On another forum I'm on, they asked a questionnaire, one question was how do you rate your doctor, my response was my doc doesn't seem to care much whether I try treatment again or not.....so I said the only Doc I listen to is you, and you've already said I should try treatment again so I am going to do so after summer is over. Got a lot of hot plans for summer that I don't want to miss :-) Hugggggs Carol Group is Active I am sending this to the List and hope your acount is active. The Group is okay, probably no mails in the past few days. We will hear from everyone soon. Doc

It goes in my lungs, usually, and I cough my lungs up and take a breathing treatment and go on about my business. THe DS probably made it better, but it still sometimes gets me at night. I personally, being the owner of an entire zoo, do not like to block my acid. I figure it is there for a reason, to kill e. coli, and I really need it to do its job! Guest guest
> wow!! is that a staff infection?? how do you get it. > > signed, > > the hypochondriac Yep, a staph infection. Some people carry staph and for that matter, strep, in their noses. I swabbed a kid to culture for staph today. His poor mother was hospitalized for IV Vancomycin because her hands were so badly infected. They suspect he is the carrier since he had furuncles all over his body. THat means he has boils. Guest guest
I didn't think people got boils anymore! We had them frequently here in the deep, deep south when I was a child( the dark ages now of the 40's). Very painful to have them lanced and squeezed- ouch. Guest guest
Thanks, Vicki, I feel great. I just got home from my first belly dancing class and I did well, so I was told. I have " good moves " and was surprised. I just need to put them together in the correct order, lol! You really need to post updated photos. I remember that is when I finally felt different, at the point about where you are. I think that is when I began to feel invisible. Ironic that now people stare at me all the time and it is because I have that certain glow that comes from feeling good. My dance teacher says that look will always be with me after I learn dance, that it will give me confidence. I already feel it after only one class. marta who is feeling the burn! lol

I don't know what I am, but in the mirror I do look small. Her arms are so nice, though, sigh. My teacher is my neighbor, I just never realized that side of her before. I am very happy with the class so far, only one so far, but she will be working with me privately because she has designs on my body, lol! Not what you think, either.
