I have read that Arimidex will lower the estradiol and raise your testosterone

levels.

My T level is up! Why?

Phil & others,

I'm trying to figure why my T level is up?

Quick run-down: I've been on TRT for 3 years or so. Just turned 41. I've had

great results after the first few months of getting levels right (roller coaster

ride in the beginning). My Doc has had me do labs every 2 to 3 months. My

current regimen is weekly T injections of 200mg's, ZMA nightly, and DIM

w/Indolplex. Nearly 2 months ago I tried Arimidex and stopped the DIM. In my

first attempt in taking .25mg tab, I received a T injection just before taking

the arimidex. Three days later I took another .25mg tab. I listened to my body

and felt like it brought my E2 too low (did not have a E2 test). I feel this

because I lost night time erections and stiffness after the second arimidex

tablet for nearly two weeks. After that, the erections came back like before. In

trying to find my " sweet spot " , I once again had a T injection and took a .25mg

arimidex tab on 6-11-10. Exactly seven days later, I went in for my lab work on

6-18-10.

My recent numbers from labs on 6-18-10:

Testosterone Total 960.69 350-890 ng/dl high

testosterone % Free 3.0 1.6-2.9 high

Testosterone Free 292.0 47.0-244.0 pg/ml high

SHBG 19 13-71 nmol/L

So since my levels are high, guess what my Doc did? He had his nurse call me and

tell me not to come in this week for my T shot. She said to wait until next week

to come in. And the Doc is going to re-test in 3 weeks. (Not pleased by the way!

I'm o.k with a re-test but not going every other week for a shot.)

The big question: Could the arimidex caused my T level to remain high over that

7 days? In the past, my T levels climb to around 1300 and drop down in the 400's

over 7 days.

I will add that my Doc does not know I took the arimidex. This is the first time

I've taken it. I've shared before that he is not up on TRT.

Sorry for the length of the post,

Dan

It’s not practical, except in remote cases. It won’t raise T enough to

really make a difference, and you have to be very careful not to lower E too

far.

But it can be good when the only real problem is E is blunting the effects of

the T you are already making. E tends to rise as we age, and also with many

other negative influences.

Be well!

Your going into your Dr.'s office for a 200mgs shot / wk. That is a lot of T

all in one big shot and I don't feel your TT levels will go up much getting

Estradiol down but your Free T can go up getting Estradiol levels down can lower

your SHBG this binds up Testosterone so getting Estradiol down can lower your

SHBG and your Total can go up a little but Free T can go from very low to above

the top of the range.

You need to stop letting your Dr. give you shots and do them your self. I do

about this much but I did 80 mgs every 3 days this keeps my blood from getting

to thick and holds down my Estradiol levels and keeps me leveled.

Now I also do HCG the day before my next T shot 250 IU's. I am now on Growth

Hormone and find I don't eat up the T so fast anymore. So now I do 70 mgs every

3 days. I test my T levels the morning of my next shot. Are you sure your

Dr.'s PA did not give you your shot first then you did labs.

I did this once and got levels like yours. If you don't call your Dr. about

this and you skip a week your going fall very low might even crash.

Call your Dr. tell him what I told you I got this from Dr. Shippen he did the

book " The Testosterone Syndrome " he dose this to his self now a shot of test c

every 3 days 80 mgs.

There is nothing that is going to make you sick with labs this high and it can

also be your lab I have had labs come in high and it was the lab. So my Dr.

never makes a change on one lab tell your Dr. this also. If you lower your dose

to 175mgs or do 70mgs every 3 days your levels will come down. If you skip a

week your more then likely going to crash this is worse then being to high.

Once you crash your body will go nuts trying to fix this. Your Dr. is not

thinking redo the labs if still high cut the dose. Do your own shots I use a

small 27g 1ml x 1/2 " lg. needle to do my shots into my thigh no pain been doing

this for yrs.

All you need to do is less more often to have better levels if you don't get

them down you cut the dose by 10 mgs and do labs in 8 weeks keep doing this

until you at what looks good to your Dr. and what you still feel good at.
