Guest guest
I would not say it is impossible but the odds are that below 300 makes normal sexual function rare. Was the test performed more then once and was it a blood draw by 9AM? I have a feeling that your " normal " sex drive may improve. > > Can you have a normal sex drive and still have low T? The reason I ask is because I've started taking androgel because I'm not able to build muscle and strength like I should be. My sex drive and erections are normal but energy levels, motivation and muscle mass are lacking. Is this possible? My t levels were low 200's. >
Guest guest
I guess I'm one of the rare cases. My testosterone was tested early am at 237 and thats what the average has been over last several years. I guess if the androgel gets my test to normal levels I might have a crazy sex drive? > > > > Can you have a normal sex drive and still have low T? Guest guest
Going on Androgel or TRT is for life. Yes you can have have a good sex life with low T it's high or low Estradiol that kills your sex life. When I first got six age 38 I still had sex 2x's a week it was after I was on TRT and in my 50's that I lost my sex life and had ED it was all due to high levels of Estradiol from being on TRT. My big problem was fatigue, sore joints and muscles with some bad feelings of Depression and brain fog. Yes as you get your levels up your muscles will come back and you will get stronger. You need to get your T levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range and to keep your Estradiol E2 levels down to about 20 to 30 pg/ml. Then go by how you feel a lot of men don't do well on gels. You need your levels checked after your on this 2 weeks to be sure the dose is working and the gel is getting through you skin. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 Co-Moderator Phil > From: andrenym007 <no_reply > > Subject: Sex Dive Testosterone > > Date: Tuesday, February 23, 2010, 7:29 PM > Can you have a normal sex drive and > still have low T? Guest guest
Thx Phil for your reply. I was checking drug interactions and saw that synthroid and androgel may have an interaction: Applies to: Levoxyl (levothyroxine), AndroGel (testosterone) MONITOR: Androgens may induce reversible clinical hyperthyroidism in patients receiving thyroid hormone replacement therapy. The proposed mechanism is androgen-induced decrease in T4 binding globulin resulting in decreased serum T4, increased T3 uptake resin and free T4, and decreased TSH levels. MANAGEMENT: Clinical and laboratory monitoring of thyroid function may be necessary, as may a 25% to 50% reduction in thyroid hormone dosage. My question phil is have you had to adjust your thyroid meds while on TRT? Another question I have is that I've had a fatty liver with elevated liver enzymes over the last several years due to me being overweight. I've since lost weight by exercising and now my enzymes have been normal on my last several blood tests. Does androgel and trt have any effect on your liver? Or are the doses not big enough for me to worry? > > > From: andrenym007 <no_reply > > > Subject: Sex Dive Testosterone > > > > Date: Tuesday, February 23, 2010, 7:29 PM > > Can you have a normal sex drive and > > still have low T? Guest guest
I was on TRT long before I found out my Thyroid was low but I never took or will ever take Snythroid it is a synthetic T4 only med and most people can't convert T4 only meds in to T3 and this is what you need. As for Androgel causing a problem with meds no never heard this. You can't go by what you read that comes with your meds the drug Co's cover there as* be listing every side effect anyone ever had to it. You need to talk to your Dr. about this. As for Thyroid I take Armour and now you can't get it so it's a big problem for most of us. We are getting an Armour type med from Canada. http://www.erfa-sa.com/thyroid_usa.htm I started on Growth Hormone last Dec. and now have had to lower my Thyroid meds I went hyper. I was doing 4 grains of Armour a day now I am only doing 2 grains. When I went hyper I started to sweat and my BP and heart rate went up I also chart my temps avg. and it went up. http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-temperature-graph I don't feel you have a problem with this.
