Guest guest
I don't know what to tell you when I seen Endo Dr.'s the all took me off TRT and I crashed but my levels before TRT were 120 this is dam low. Also I have lost count as to how many times my PSA test went up. There are things that do this most of the time my Dr. feels it's lab error. If I have sex 2 days before doing the test it dose come back higher. You might try switching to HCG this will make your testis make there own T. Try 100 IU's per day. HCG acts like the LH and FSH message that your brain sends to your testis to make more testosterone so doing this you might not crash and the testosterone your going to get is from your own body. I got dam sick each time I was taken off TRT. As to date there is no Prof Testosterone makes Cancer worse some Dr.'s have wrote it helps with Prostate Cancer. http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/men-sex-and-testosterone/200811/is-testoster\ one-good-men-prostate-cancer You might need to join to read this link but it's a good link. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/521214_1 Co-Moderator Phil > From: txmtnboy <txmtnboy@...> > Subject: Question - Need to Stop TRT > > Date: Friday, July 23, 2010, 5:59 PM > Guys > > I'm going to need to stop TRT, at least for the time being, > and need to know how best to drop it. Guest guest
Keep in mind during your decision to stop that just being on TRT will raise you PSA. Prior to TRT my PSA was ~ 0.4. Once on TRT it has consistently been ~ 1.5 for the last 4 years. Most advise not to decide on a single number but look at the rate of change over a period. Â Arkansas From: txmtnboy <txmtnboy@...> Subject: Question - Need to Stop TRT Date: Friday, July 23, 2010, 4:59 PM Â Guys I'm going to need to stop TRT, at least for the time being, and need to know how best to drop it. Recap: I'm an 8 year post-op prostate cancer survivor who started TRT back up after being 5 years clean from cancer (doctors were OK with this). However, recently I got a somewhat higher PSA reading (it had been showing as " NIL " for 8 years; however, it was just slightly elevated last week and the doctor wants to recheck it in 3 months - again, it's only slightly elevated and doctor said it may only be a faulty test so he's not overly worried - however, I want to stop TRT (at least for the time being) and want to avoid crashing as much as possible. Right now I'm on a fairly low dose ( .40ML weekly) + 1-DIM tablet daily. If I stop cold turkey right now, what am I facing? Would it be better to just cut in half over a period of a week or two? I don't want to make a big deal about it but TRT helped me so much to begin with I'm concerned about the other side. Thx Txmtnboy
Guest guest
Agreed - however, the urologist emphasized that PSA tests now are more sensitive and accurate than even a few years ago. I haven't decided for sure whether or not to stop now (vs waiting for another test in 90 days) but, at the same time am looking the risk of continuing if there is a problem - my main question was (since I've never gone " cold turkey " ) what I could be looking at by stopping. thx TxMtnBoy > > > From: txmtnboy <txmtnboy@...> > Subject: Question - Need to Stop TRT > > Date: Friday, July 23, 2010, 4:59 PM > > > Â > > > > Guys > > I'm going to need to stop TRT, at least for the time being, and need to know how best to drop it.
