I am Hypopituitary my brain does not tell my body to make enough Cortisol so I

am on Cortef a Hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid, is similar to a natural hormone

produced by your adrenal glands. It is often used to replace this chemical when

your body does not make enough of it. It relieves inflammation (swelling, heat,

redness, and pain) and is used to treat certain forms of arthritis; skin, blood,

kidney ...

I take 10 mgs in the morning at about 5am when I wake up to go to the bath room

and at this time I take my Testosterone shots or HCG shots with Arimidex to keep

my Estradiol levels down and my Thyroid meds. I then go back to bed and feel

great with I wake up at 8am. I eat at 9am and take 5 mgs, then at 1pm I eat and

take 5 mgs then at 6pm when I eat I take 5 mgs and 5 mgs more at bedtime.

What your taking is not Hydrocortisone I think what your on is Glands and I did

not do very good on this each batch I got was not the same some made me sick to

much adrenaline in it. The best supplement out there is Isocort made from Sheep

Glands I did real good on this and when it was on back order my Dr. gave in and

gave me Cortef this my friend is the best I feel great on this.

I tried every kind of Vit. and Supplement out there and it was because my Dr.

was not up on the use of Hydrocortisone. And felt it was dangerous to use until

I gave him this book.

The first chapter discusses the history of our knowledge of cortisone and

cortisol. In 1929, Dr. Hench figured out that rheumatoid arthritis disappeared

because of a normal adrenocortical response after surgery, pregnancy and other

situations. They didn’t multi-dose then, and used much larger amounts than

needed. We now know that smaller dosages of cortisone or cortisol are effective

and may take ten to 14 days to produce impressive improvement in arthritis.

Because they used such large doses of cortisol in treatment, side effects

occurred, and the presumption was made that any dosage of any glucocorticoid

would have potentially hazardous and undesirable effects. “For over thirty

years, physicians have been indoctrinated with this concept.â€

Thank you for the information I'm still going through the links.

My situation is that my adrenal readings were a bit high for the liking of my

doctor. The pills I am taking are supposed to repress my adrenal output, (I

believe). This makes sense since I felt so tired after my walk today when I

mistakenly took two pills so early in the morning instead of before bedtime.

Since starting T therapy two weeks ago I have felt strong after my walks and

bike rides which is just the opposite of what happened this morning.

OK I am on the same page now you might be taking Phosphorylated serine in this

supplement and yes you need to take this near bed time.

A cut and poste for this link.

=================================================

In early stages of adrenal fatigue cortisol levels tend to rise and if they are

high at midnight they can energise you and keep you awake. Phosphorylated serine

can be used to lower cortisol at these times due to its ACTH dampening effect.
