Guest guest
I do know low levels of T opens one to an array of other diseases. You should really research this as best you can before you make the decision. I must say I'm a newb on this subject area. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Indecisive about starting TRT?? Just found out my Test level is around 270. I'm 36 yrs old and I do have some of the symptoms of low test. At this point though I'm still unsure whether or not to start TRT. What are some of the pros and cons that I need to consider before I start treatment. I just received 3 months worth of the Tetim 50mg Gel in the mail but haven't started treatment yet due to my indeciveness. I'm a little concerned about my cholesterol levels going up, some possible hair loss, increase risk of prostrate cancer and so on. I'm sure others out there were also a little worried but I'd like to hear from some of you how you overcame this before starting TRT. Thanks. Guest guest
You have valid concerns. I can address some of those. Men with a family history of prostate cancer should be aware that testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can possibly increase the risk of prostate cancer if and only if the cancer is hormone sensitive, specifically to testosterone. However, some prostate cancers are much more sensitive to estradiol. The appropriate drug regimen, as discussed in this forum, can help keep estradiol levels in the safe range, thereby reducing the risk of prostate cancer. When I first started TRT, my HDL cholesterol did go down. However, it was back up to its normal level within a year. Oddly enough, men with low testosterone are more susceptible to cardiovascular disease than those with a normal level. I have an extremely strong family history of heart disease and stroke and I've performed extensive research on this topic. I'm convinced that TRT reduces my risk of heart disease. Can't really say much of baldness. Some men have reported that their hair loss improved with TRT. ________________________________ From: surfingmedicman22 <no_reply > Sent: Tue, April 20, 2010 7:52:56 PM Subject: Indecisive about starting TRT??  Just found out my Test level is around 270. Guest guest
You may want to reasearch hcg supplementation before commiting to TRT. PMgamer18 can give you more insight with this. TRT is for life. > > Just found out my Test level is around 270. I'm 36 yrs old and I do have some of the symptoms of low test. At this point though I'm still unsure whether or not to start TRT. Guest guest
Well you dam low your levels are lower the a man 100 yrs old you don't get cancer from TRT and as for sides the only one I know of is your blood can get to thick. But for the men that have this all they need to do is give blood. Now lets talk about what will happen to you if you don't go on TRT. One big thing is your Heart it's a muscle and it needs like all your muscles T to keep healthy. 18 months ago I ended up having Heart By-Pass Sugary never had high Chol. in my life Dr.'s feel it was the low hormones that did in my heart. I was out cold 7 weeks and needed to be opened up 5 x's I died 5x's you can read my story at this link. And the update about my heart. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=9239 http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 But first you need to find out why your this low there are many things that can make your T levels go down. Go to Dr. 's site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and read about the labs you need and why. www.allthingsmale.com I went 23 yrs being told my testis don't work right and my problem is due to a head injury making me Hypopituitary. If you go on TRT with out knowing why your low it is dam hard to find out why. TRT shuts down your messages from your brain that tell your testis to make T.
