The whole Premarin / Women's Health Initiative Study fiasco was a great setback

for HRT for women.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women's_Health_Initiative

Pure 17 beta estradiol was not tested, just conjugated equine estrogen

(Premarin). Thanks to this study, many women are denied HRT, when the problem

was not 17 beta estradiol, but Premarin.

You can't patent estradiol or testosterone in it's natural form, so there is no

huge amount of money to be made marketing it.

Note that you CAN patent variants such as topical gel: Testim and Androgel.

Most studies are paid for by the drug manufacturers, and no one wants to pay for

a new Women's Health Initiative using pure Estradiol.

Between the WHI study damaging HRT for women and the overuse of testosterone by

athletes, HRT has some obstacles to overcome.

Those who criticise " Government Run Health Care " should examine how health care

run by drug manufacturers and insurance companies is working for them.

Randy,

You said a mouth full and this is why I posted due to Statin Drugs after all I

have been through due to them I can't walk of stand up with out a walker.

And there is no proof taking Statin Drugs prevent heart problems. In some they

cause them.
