Guest guest
Phil, Thanks for your thoughts on this. I'll be seeing a new doc--an osteopath in Raleigh--shortly for the first time. Fed up with the two endo practices here in Greenville, and with most endo;s (there must be a few out there who are sensible, but they aren't advertising). I'm certainly going to see how the new doc reacts to the idea of trying to decrease my Estradiol. But whether she even does TRT, or would " leave that to urologists, " I don't know. I'm not optimiistic, however, about finding any MD around here who would prescribe TRT until my PSA is down around 4. Thanks, __________________________________________________________________________
Guest guest
you need to research about PSA levels I have read many posts from men that on TRT there PSA shot way up they were told to get this checked out for cancer and I have yet to read about one of them having it. Some times this PSA will go up for no reason then come back down. Mine dose this off and on to be honest about it I don't fell it's all that great of a test. Men get prostate cancer and have dam good PSA levels. Guest guest
Friend of mine that is older had his removed several years ago. His PSA was only about 2, but how they caught it was when his PSA initially started going up from below 1 and was rising every couple of months. After the doc watched this for a brief period he was sent for a biopsy procedure which came back positive. > > you need to research about PSA levels I have read many posts from men that on TRT there PSA shot way up they were told to get this checked out for cancer and I have yet to read about one of them having it. Guest guest
Yes this works but do you know how many men get this biopsy and don't have cancer I was one of them. Guest guest
I have no idea Phil,....I HAVE heard that the biopsy procedure 'sucks' for want of a better word. I have many bad things in my family genes, but prostate cancer is not one of them. > > Yes this works but do you know how many men get this biopsy and don't have cancer I was one of them. > Co-Moderator > Phil
Guest guest
Marc, same thing just happened with my father (83 y.o)his PSA steadily went to 4--he had the biopsy (said he's a bit sore, but they give a local and he didn't feel anything...now he is going for a bone scan and follow up ultrasound to make sure it hasn't *spread*)..I don't know if this is up to date protocol--he wouldn't listen to me anyway --they found cancer cells on biopsy...EL > > > > you need to research about PSA levels I have read many posts from men that on TRT there PSA shot way up they were told to get this checked out for cancer and I have yet to read about one of them having it.
