Guest guest
TRT usually lower both triglycerides and total cholesterol. Food choices can drastically impact triglycerides for some people. For me, restricting carbs and eating a high-fat diet keeps my triglycerides low, usually around 50. ________________________________ From: Bstee <bstee@...> Sent: Sat, November 6, 2010 9:12:10 PM Subject: Can Andro Gel raise Triglycerides? I've been on TST for about 6 weeks. I was on the 5mg patches for about a month and had a terrble reaction (blisters) after a month or so so just switched to the 2.5 gel packs. I tried to tell the doc that effectively cut the dose in half but he said it really should not change anything. I just went in for my blood tests and I don't know. I had really low TST to start with. It was 74 total so we retested and came back at 120 total and 61 free. I am 43 years old. So I just got my labs back and the doc was not worried about the TST any longer though I feel like I am dragging since he cut me down. My total TST is 205 <220-880>. He siad it is just below the low level so it is ok. I said that I thought it was supposed to be up higher than that and he asked if I've been to medical school. I said no but I have read about it. He said, look at you numbers, you almost doubled where you were, and you don't want to risk running your numbers up to the 300's or more when you were so low to start with, and I should really be happy with the close to 100% increase. He was much more concerned (I was too) with my Triglycerides that came in at 760. I am usually not great (250-300) but this seems high even for me. I treat with Cholesterol meds and even that jumped about 50 points. So does TST affect this reading? I asked about meds for triglycerides but he said, I am on Chlesterol, headachache and now TST meds and the last thing I need is more medication. Any ideas. Guest guest
You also can never rule out a bad test when you see a huge jump from your norm like this. Mine were 54 last time, but I am not on TRT yet. One hint,.....couple to few days before you go for lipid tests which are fasting,.....eat a really healthy diet with lots of fruit and veggies. I have seen folks with normal levels get a bad result because they had been pigging out on really bad stuff the day or so before their test. Guest guest
WTF is this Dr. Nuts run from this Dr. thats all I can tell you he does not know what he is talking about. Are you in the UK if so I feel dam sorry for you. Men need there Total Testosterone levels up into the upper 1/3 of there range to start and then do labs and go higher if they don't feel better. Your levels are that of a man over the age of 100 yrs old. I feel if a Dr. is not up on this he should just say I don't know why make you suffer. You need to learn about this problem so when you see a nut like this one you will know. Here is a link to get your started. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html We have a links and files section on the left side or your screen full of info you can learn from. In the files section is a file " Testosterone Levels by Age Grp. " open this and read it. You will find your levels are that of men over 100 yrs of age. Guest guest
Wow that is good info. No wonder I feel lousy asgain. I was on trice the dose and he cut me down and now I am at 205 so this is a 100 year old man feel like, no wonder I can't walk a flight of stairs and forget about certain other things (interestingly the doc who declared the level of 205 fine for me never asked about that). I was super low to start with with somewhere between 74 and 120 as my total TST so it is an improvement. I just don't understand why the insert in the Adroderm says tests shows even the 2.5 daily should boost numbers about 300 points. Assuming my " natural number " is about 100, I can't understand why my numbers are not higher. They should be 400 or so even if I am all messed up. Even if I just don't produce I assumed that the Androdem adds between 300-400 to your numbers. Is it possible that someone simply does not process even when given TST? > > > From: Bstee <bstee@...> > > Subject: Can Andro Gel raise Triglycerides? > > > > Date: Saturday, November 6, 2010, 9:12 PM > > I've been on TST for about 6 > > weeks. Guest guest
When I was on the patch I need two 5 mg. patch's and my levels were at about 600. I hated the patch it would fall off when I would sweat. It would leave a big red rash when I took it off. And the dam glue would not wash off. I had to use HC cream on the rash so it would heal in 7 days you can't put the patch on the same spot for 7 days. I ended up with red marks all over my body. Men need to have Total T levels at or above 600 most do much better higher. Can you get on the gels TesoGel try starting with 5 grams you spread this over your upper arms and shoulders and down your back as far as you can reach after a shower every morning. But when you do labs on this show but don't use the gel until after you do the labs. If you do put the gel on first it will spike your labs way up. I do shots and I do them myself in this link it's for women wanting to become men it's full of good info and all the diff. kinds of TRT. http://www.ftmguide.org/ttypes.html#cypionate You need your TT or TST as your call it levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range and you need to test your Estradiol levels and keep them down to about 20 pg/ml or in your units 74 pmol/L.
