Well it is hard to say the first 5 yrs I was sick I was told I suffer from Major

Depression. I was off work more then I was at work on sick leave getting sick

pay.

Then we found out I have Hypogonadism and went on treatment still they had it

wrong saying I am Primary meaning my Testis don't work. I was off work on Sick

leave more then on for the next 23 yrs.

I was coming back from sick leave and my work a big 3 auto Co. locked me out of

work. No sick pay no unemployment nothing.

I went to the EEOC and filed a discrimination complaint against them and they

settled out of court.

My problems started after an Auto Accident where I had a head injury that

damaged my Pituitary gland in my brain.

What your asking is very hard to do with out a good Dr. saying you can't work.

And showing treatment does not help.

My ex-wife is on Social Security disability for Mental Depression. She couldn't

hold a job and was suicidal (with failed attempts). She was turned down and had

to appeal with the help of an attorney which is how it usually works for mental

disability from what I remember. We were able to get her case sped up by

contacting out local congressman.

Good Luck!!

I wouldn't think so. In Imperial China, many high officials were eunuchs. They

seemed to do quite well. Also any post menopausal or post hysterectomy woman

would also be hypogonadic, and they don't get disability for that.

I've got all of your conditions except for the depression and sleep apnea. I'm

being treated, with sucess, for all of them and work full time at age 61.

Obesity: Diet and Exercise

Hyperlipidemia: Lipitor and diet

GERD: Omeprazole and diet and weight loss

Hypogonadism: Weekly shots of Testosterone Cypionate.

A CPAP machine effectively deals with the sleep apnea.

As for the depresion, I've heard that around 30% of Americans are taking

psychoactive drugs for that.

Of course if you are not employable and thus don't have health insurance, you

can't afford all the medical treatment you need.

That indeed is a problem. There is a " catch 22 " there. If you had disability,

you would get Medicare, and could be treated for your conditions.

After treatment, you would no longer be considered disabled, and would be

expected to go to work.... meaning you would lose your benefits.

There are plenty of disability lawyers advertising on television. Perhaps a

consult with one of those would help you evaluate your chances.

I'm not un-sympathetic to your plight... I just don't see you being sucessful

with your claim.
