Guest guest
Hi Randall, I am not familiar with cortisol, but what you listed sounds like low T/high Estradiol (E2) and possibly low thyroid. What are your test result numbers? How much HCG are you taking with each shot? Do you have recent thyroid test results (TSH doesn't count)? To respond to your points: 1. Slight ED can be caused by too much E2. Do you know your SHBG numbers? What your doctor is saying is good estradiol levels may actually be too high. When I hit the " sweet spot " for E2, I have no ED at all. 2. Before I started taking Testosterone, I felt the exact same way. I used to take at least one nap per day. Now, after starting Testosterone, I rarely ever take naps. This could be Low T or possibly low thyroid (or both). It is not unusual for thyroid levels to slightly fall after starting to take Testosterone supplementation. 3. Redness on the upper part of the body and feeling hot are both usually signs of high estradiols (and this goes along with the ED). Any water retention? Any increased anxiety or depression? By any chance, are you getting " stressed out " easier now? Best of luck! From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of forced2fish Sent: Monday, November 22, 2010 2:32 PM Subject: Been on TRT almost 6 months..Almost dialed in..couple of questions.... Hi Phil, Barb, and anyone else reading this. I have been on TRT for about 6 months now. I am almost great..haha..I do test cyp 2 times a week and HCG 3 times and Arimidex as needed. All of my levels are good. I'm 36, 6'3 " , 204# @ 9% body fat, eat healthy and am in very good condition. With all of that said I still have some issues that I would really like to get on top of. 1. I have slight ED. It's not all the time, or completely, but it still just isn't like it should be. I take Cialis to combat this, which usually works well, but I don't feel like I should have to. 2. Although I'm in good shape, feel good overall, and am having good workouts....I still feel tired all of the time. I basically feel like I can take a nap at any given time, even after I wake up in the morning. 3. I feel hot, and get flush/ed a lot. My face and neck are fairly red a lot of the time. I also have noticed that I get like this easy, particularly if I get stressed out. I have not had a cortisol test yet and know this may have something to do with it, right? Is this my next step? Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks, Randall
Guest guest
Randall, Read this on how I take Arimidex so not to go to low right not what your feeling is your too high. How much Arimidex are you doing dose wise and how offten. I feel you need more. ================================================= How To Take Arimdex and not go down on your Estradiol to Low. What I found is if you go to low taking arimidex, it's the length of time your to low, if your too low say for 8 weeks it can take your body a longer time to make more Estradiol. Bottom line is to know how not to go to low. Keep a log on your dose and how you feel men going to low can't get it up taking Viagra. I went to low when I first tried Arimidex and did not know about going to low or how one feels to low, so I was low a good 8 weeks. I did not know I was low until my next labs. The best gage I have found to control your Estradiol levels is to gage your night time and morning wood. At good levels or what I call the sweet spot you get your night time and morning wood back so strong it will wake you up and you can hang a coat on it. Most men do good taking .25 mgs or 1/4 of a 1mg. pill, I use a pill cutter to cut the small pill in half then I stand it on the cut end and use a single edge razor to cut this in half. A good way to take arimidex is by how high your levels are. I tested over 90 pg/ml so we tried doing .5 mgs every other day after 8 weeks my next set of labs showed it did not move below 90, test said >90. So we did .5 mgs. every day in about 2 weeks I got some strong night time and morning wood back after not having them for many yrs. I kept doing this dose and in 8 weeks my next set of labs said <20 back in the day labs were like this they did not have to good labs we have today they could not read lower the 20. My Dr. told me this looks to low to stop taking the Arimidex. The one thing I noticed was my wood stopped and stopping the Arimidex my wood came back in about 7 weeks my next test at 8 weeks was 24 pg/ml. So we went back on the Arimidex but the Dr. told me to take .5 mgs every 3 days I was on this dose not a week and lost wood. This is when I figured out going to low you lose wood. And the longer your too low the longer it takes to get levels back up. I stopped the arimidex right away and got my wood back in 4 days. I then after playing with the dose for a time found the best dose is .25mgs every 2 to 3 days. So lets say your labs are less the 50 pg/ml if your take .5 mgs you can go down so dam fast your miss the sweet spot of your wood and go to low. It's best with lower levels 50 and under to do less Arimidex .25mgs every 2 days if later your lose wood when it comes back go to every 3 days. I have found estradiol is the hardest hormone to control, it goes up or down from month to month some times I need .25mgs every 2 days other times I need ..25mgs everyday most of the time I do well on every 3 days. So between wood and labs I do great and so do most of the men I have told this to. I keep a log on how much I am taking and how I feel. Doing this and reading back in my log I was able to tell when I was going to high or to low my Dr. lets me dose my arimidex by how I feel. Over the yrs. I have posted this story until I am blue in the face. Guest guest
Tiredness and sleep apnea are symptoms of low thyroid. I can guarantee you if your thyroid is low you won't sleep well. This applies to women too. Barb > > Randall, > > > > The only thing I can comment on is the tiredness. Tiredness, along with > many of the symptoms of low T, are symptoms of sleep apnea. Guest guest
Thanks to all who have responded to this. I read most of the responses and then lost track of this thread. This format here is kind of confusing!! I'm still having fatigue issues. I upped my arimidex (generic) and that has helped with high estradiol, which I had. I still have something else going on, but just ran a new round of tests at the doc and am still waiting for my cortisol results. In the mean time I'm still getting in great shape and am currently 201# @ 7% body fat. Working out isn't a problem, it's just energy throughout the day. I just feel like I want to sleep! Guest guest
Different med side effects can cause tiredness and fatigue. Not getting enough vitamins and proteins also can cause fatigue-like symptoms. Perhaps you can google all your meds and check their side effects as well. If so, this is better than having a medical condition that is causing your symptoms. Dnt stop taking any doc prescribed med before talking to your doc. Guest guest
Hi Barb, My thyroid was checked in June and I was in range but on the lower end. My doc put me on a thyroid pill but then he felt I was maybe going hyper as I was getting really flushed...BUT...I'm pretty sure, and I think he would agree that it was an estradiol issue as that was before I had my estradiol checked. I don't think that he has checked my thyroid again but he may have on my most recent set of labs. I have not discussed my full results with him yet. Question regarding that...Now that I'm more on top of my estradiol, if I throw the tyroid pills back into the mix, shouldn't I be able to figure out within a week or so if they are helping? The pills I have are " T3=4.5, T4=19MCG " and I was on 1 per day. Thoughts? And thanks again! > > > > > > Hi Phil, Barb, and anyone else reading this. I have been on TRT for about 6 months now. Guest guest
The meds I'm on are anastrozole, test cyp, HCG, and the occasional Cialis. This could be a possibility but I have had daytime fatigue issues for a lllooonnnngggg time so I suspect that it's not. As far as the nutritional/diet side. I'm spot on. Diet is almost perfect (dialed in with a nutritionalist), and I had an extensive nutritional evaluation that my doc and I laughed about when it came back as I wasted $300 because everything was perfect!haha > > > > Hi Phil, Barb, and anyone else reading this. Guest guest
He prescribed 1/2 grain for you, which is a very low dose. So within a week, you could feel it's much too low, or it could augment your own levels. Guest guest
I understand...I'm just thinking about trying them again and wouldn't want to mess anything up. If you are taking thyroid meds, does it shut your thyroid production down at all? Guest guest
If you take enough thyroid meds, yes your TSH will become suppressed and shut off your own production. I think at very low doses, it should augment your own levels. I have read posts of people going on T3, and then weaning off, so I guess it's possible to wean off. But you'd probably go back to your own levels, and if they were low to start with, that's what you'd get again. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > 1. Guest guest
That sounds to me like your not recovering from your work out. If your Cortisol test comes in 15 or less doing it fasting in the morning you might have Adrenal Insufficiency. Next thing you can try is an ACTH Stim. test to see if your Primary or Secondary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACTH_stimulation_test Then do a 4x's in a day saliva test to see how your rithum looks. It should be high in the morning going down by bedtime. http://www.t-nation.com/article/diet_and_nutrition/adrenal_fatigue_101 & cr=dietAn\ dNutrition http://hotzehwc.com/attachments/wysiwyg/2/AdrenalFatigueandCortisol101.pdf Co-Moderator Phil > From: forced2fish <ruca4life@...> > Subject: Re: Been on TRT almost 6 months..Almost dialed in..couple of questions.... > > Date: Monday, January 17, 2011, 7:07 PM > Thanks to all who have responded to > this. Guest guest
Well it's not Estrogen that is the bad guy in men it's Estraidol if this is what your talking about. If your levels are very high above 30 to 50 can mess with your sex life giving you ED problems and anxiety. As it goes higher it can give you BPH, brain fog, fatigue even Panic Attacks. And you can hold a ton of water. But you need to know what your SHBG is having a higher level of SHBG you can feel fine with levels in the low 30's pg/ml for Estraidol. As your SHBG goes up your Free Testosterone will come down SHBG binds up Free T. The lower your SHBG the lower you need to keep your Estradiol. My SHBG is between 20 to 22 I keep my Estradol levels at 15 this is my sweet spot. If you don't get night time and morning wood then your levels might be to high. I gage my levels by my wood.
