Guest guest
Hi , and Lynn and all I really appreciate your kind words and concern. Thankyou! I think they have already tested for celiacs via a blood test (measuring transaminase??) Those results were negative. I will have a look though at the sites you mentionned, it will still be useful. By the way, Cha, I wrote a long note to the address you kindly forwarded me for the CVS and it bounced back - undeliverable. I went to their site to double check the email address and it was exactly the same one that you sent me. It must have changed I think. I will have to see if I can find another one. At least with access to information via the internet we don't feel totally useless - we have the feeling we're trying to do something and not giving up which I think is so important. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness Debbie, mum to Hans 13 years ( + ??) South of France

I am so happy with the visit because he agreed to take care of my health issues, except ob/gyne stuff. He explained to me about thyroid problems, diabetes, cholesterol, etc. I will undergo at least 4 tests including the urine test and have to take 50 mg iodine, also saliva test, and blood tests. What made me really happy is the choice he gives his patients, i.e., go mainstream, alternative or, both. I told him that I want to get out of pharma meds and he said after the test reports are in, then he will try and work on my getting out of those drugs. I look forward to the day that I am pharma drug free and just taking supplements with exercise and proper diet. But of course i understand this does not happen overnight and will have to be done gradually. He thinks I am hypo. Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges? Guest guest
I just came back from the endo. After switching to compounded test cream, my total testosterone dropped to 136 from 237. To be fair, this test was in the morning before I applied the cream. I had other blood work that required fasting. The 237 was on 10 pumps of Androgel and was taken late in the afternoon. I also started hcg (250 iu every 3 days) and Arimidex (.5 mg every other day). My estradiol went from 59 to 36. At least I have some good news. The doctor wanted to up the cream to 3 pumps from 2. I kind of went off on him and told him I was tired of the " try this and see what happens " approach and that I wanted to switch to injections. He said the norm was every 2 weeks. I told him I would be doing it weekly and I would self inject. Surprisingly, he agreed. I also told him that I wanted to use Arimidex to control the estradiol. He said there were not studies to support that. I told him that was a JCEM article about such a study. He back tracked and said he was aware of that study, but that he meant there we not any studies dealing with the long term safety of Arimidex usage in men. So, I lost that one. I then suggest using hcg to keep my testicles producing whatever testosterone they can produce. He said that I could use hcg if I wanted instead of the testosterone injections, but not both. I lost this one too. He wrote the prescription for the testosterone injections, and new lab work testing only total testosterone and nothing else. I'll continue my hcg and Arimidex on my own, but I'm done with this guy. Anyone know of any good places to eat in Lansing?
Guest guest
sorry you had this bad luck with your Dr. the only thing I know of bad about taking Arimidex is going down to low on your Estradiol men have been on this from the time it came out. One Drug store told me he sells more of it to men then women. It's to bad but you could stick with him for your T shots and labs. Guest guest
Thanks Phil, I will keep a eye out for that. Brett Re: Doctor's Visit I broke out in a bad rash on the back of my legs it was the DIM with Arimidex. My next order of DIM was on back order and the rash went away. When I went back on the DIM the rash started up again. Co-Moderator Phil
Guest guest
Well that is good to know about Dr . He must charge for his time. I go back only the 2nd visit to my new DO here tomorrow Friday 2:00 pm. Please pray for him and me. I just don't hold out much hope after seeing this " " endo that he seemed so tight with. She only wanted me to do shots every 2 to 3 weeks and said hCG is only useful if you want to have kids and she wanted to take me off TRT so she can do base labs and it that all wasn't scary enough she said that I couldn't have been low T because I have a daughter conceived when I was twenty years old, now I am 55. Now you see why I am nervous about going back to him now. If he listens to her I am toast! With the HMO I foolishly joined this year I can't see any one else until next month. So at worst he has just wasted two months of my life doing nothing. His staff told me he was up on this stuff. NOT! Brett Re: Doctor's Visit No, he will work with your doc from the start. Guest guest
Don't take any Bull Crap from him get in his face telling him he sent you to an Endo that knew less then he did and it he dose not keep up your meds you will file a complaint about it this will wake his ass up. I am so dam sick of hearing how men are suffering because of Dr.'s not wanting to look into this. My Dr. told me when I came back from the Endo he sent me to that he will look into how to treat me and the next month when I seen him he was up on most of this to keep me going. Dam he is all ready a Dr. if he started you on meds for this then wants to pass you off on some Dr. that knows less then he dose this is not right file a complaint. Guest guest
" Don't tell me worrying dosen't help every thing I worry about never happens " Mark Twain Hi Guys, Well I thought I should give you a report. After all my stress about it I think my new DO must have completely forgot that he sent me to that clueless Endo " " who wanted to take me of TRT so she could do baseline labs. He never brought it up and I didn't remind him. BTW just for the record he isn't the Dr that started me on TRT. That was my former PA that started me on Androgel. The PA, after we had to switch to shots because of insurance reasons, when I asked questions just told me " You know more about this than I do. " I do like a health care provider who is honest enough to admit he doesn't know it all. After seeing the scary clueless endo I gave up on getting a script and just ordered my own hCG. I hate to do that, but I will tell the doc about it after I am on it although I would like to get a lab done again before I start it so I haven't figured that part out yet so maybe I will just tell him I am about to start it. I did ask the new DO that I am seeing now to refer me back to another endo that I had seen before I went to him. This other endo, (still clueless but a nice guy) said he could help me figure out my adrenal issues. I believe I do have a adrenal insufficiency and that is my biggest problem right now. So I hope he knows how to do help me with that. Think he will? Do you all think that the typical endo is capable of treating that or are they just as clueless on that as well. Guest guest
I would have to say there are some Endo's out there that are up on this but I have not seen them. The Endo's out side the USA know more then the ones here. My Heart Dr. was an Endo in Italy and treated people for Adrenals, Thyroid, Hormones and Pituitary Problems yrs ago yet he is in his 40's. When he came to the USA there was not much need for a Dr. like this so being he had to back to school he became a Heart Dr. I was so shocked when I first seen him and he told me he knows all about my health Problems. This was the first time I heard that my heart might be blocked up do to low Growth Hormones and the other Hormones. So I told him I work on the Forums for men's health as a mod. trying to help men find a better Dr. and get the right tests. He even said good luck with that here in the USA they are way behind Europe many yrs behind. They had Compounded Testosterone cream long before we did. I can't tell you what to do but if I were you and your all ready seeing a DO Dr. why not have him work with Dr. over the phone this way on your dime he will become a dam good Hormone Dr. and you will get the right treatment you need. Dr. dose this all the time if your Dr. is up to it. www.allthingsmale.com Co-Moderator Phil > > > From: Brett Savage <brshop@...> > > Subject: Re: Doctor's Visit > > > > Date: Friday, June 4, 2010, 1:58 AM > > Well that is good to know about Dr > > .
