Guest guest
Interesting, the one time that I did see a Endo he was talking about me going off the T so that we could determine what was the cause of my low T. Considering how I was before starting T that wasn't even something I even gave a second thought. According to Dr Dach men taking opiate medications will have low T. http://jeffreydach.com/2010/02/26/low-testosterone-from-pain-pills-by-jeffrey-da\ ch-md.aspx So I assume my low T is likely due to that but now that I know the symptoms I am sure that I was having low T long before I started regular use of opiate meds. I had taken the maxim prescription dose of ibuprofen for a long time before that so I have to wonder what that does to ones T level. Anyone know? Not to mention the added stress of pain, disability and the extraordinary financial and relational stress that so often goes with disability. I have come to the conclusion that I am also suffering from adrenal fatigue and there definitely is a interplay between it and Hypogonadism. So to start out with a Endo and get everything checked out, I would think that would be a good thing but many some at least of them are pretty clueless once your already on TRT. The one I saw wasn't up on the latest protocol for TRT treatment so I saw no point in going back to him for TRT treatment. My PA sent me to him because I was asking so many questions that he the PA didn't know the answer to but this Endo didn't know either. " That's my story and I am sticking to it. Guest guest
Brett, You sound just like me. I have chronic pain and need to take opiates. I don't know if that's the source of my low T as I haven't had the battery of blood tests run yet. My doc thinks I have adrenal fatigue. Interesting.... Guest guest
Brett Endo's are only good for high sugar levels unless they specialize in hormones and Pituitary problems. Many men come here that seen an Endo only to tell us bad stories about them. I only know of one or two men I have met on the web that see a good Endo. Most of the stories we hear are like mine men are not TRT not tuned up right and get sent to see an Endo Dr. think they are the experts on this and they are not. Most good Dr.'s up on TRT will even say this. Every one I seen 7 total told me my labs were no good and they need to take me off meds so they can do a base line set of labs. Each time they did this all the figured out was how dam sick they made me. I have a Pituitary problem due to a head injury from an Auto Accident. Every Dr. I see missed it was my Pituitary and the first 5 yrs I was told I am Depressed and on Treatment for it. Endo's don't know crap about his problem and I stand by what I say about them. Every one I seen only made me sicker each time I ended up off work on sick leave. And each time I was taken off TRT it took longer to get back to work my levels would not come back up fast it took longer and longer to get my levels back up. My heart Dr. was an Endo in Italy treating hormones and Pituitary problems before he came to the USA when he got here there was not much use for this kind of Dr. so he became a Heart Dr. lucky for me my Dr. knows him and sent me to him. Even he says Endos in here are not up on hormones even Thyroid problems. Most Endo's over seas are good at this but now here. Never saw her again. ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Sun, May 2, 2010 12:34:54 PM Subject: Re: I may have pituitary problem. - - Endos Brett Endo's are only good for high sugar levels unless they specialize in hormones and Pituitary problems.
