Guest guest
Go to Dr s forum and he has a free lecture there. It talks about all this stuff. Allthingsmale.com. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Gels, creams, shots, pellets......... Another newbie question but here goes! I see many of you talking about all the different forms of TRT, and it seems many are on shots. My question is really about E2, and DHT though. Why is there such a difference between the different methods of replacing T in terms of raising ones E2 levels, and/or DHT? I guess I am just thinking that testosterone is a hormone, and can't understand why one method of getting it into the body would be different than another in respect to how your E2/DHT levels go. Asking because I am assuming I have high E2,......will know soon, plus I think it is the high DHT that causes a guys hair to fall out. Obviously I would like to avoid both of those pitfalls if I have to go on TRT.
Guest guest
It is not the Testosterone it's how it is delivered Gels Androgel and Testim need to be applyed over a large area of skin doing this the Testosterone going into the body through the skin drives up DHT it is a given I don't know why this happens. My levels went up over 3x's above the top of the labs range and it was driving my prostate nuts. Shots don't do this because it is going into the muscle. Estradiol is some thing that will go up as we get older it is said most men above 40 have higher levels then there wife's. Estradiol in men is made from Testosterone and the more over weight you are the more AROMATASE, an enzyme found in the liver, in responsible for the conversion of the androgens ANDROSTENEDIONE and TESTOSTERONE into the estrogens ESTRONE and ESTRADIOL. Doing compounded creams with Testosterone in them your area of the skin is a very small area so DHT is not a big problem. But the fact of doing this everyday can make your estradiol levels go up faster. Shots that are very high in the dose more then your body can process turns into Estradiol so the older and more over weight you are the more the problem. When it comes to TRT and Estradiol there is no place to hide. At some time you going to have to deal with this. Same thing with the patch when it first came out you put it on your testis doing this drive up ones DHT big time. Having a higher level of DHT is said to be better for a mans libido but not over the top of the range. So if your on a cream or gels don't put this on your testis. Higher levels of Estradiol in men both young and old can cause low Testosterone. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/85/9/3027 So do check this doing labs before going on TRT try to find out why your low. Once you go on TRT it is very hard to figure out why your low and stopping TRT for a time and doing labs will not show the problem.
