Guest guest
Hi Phil, I wanted to post some labs and get your opinion. Fifty year old male. Complaints include difficulty losing weight, loss of muscle tone and moodiness(short tempered). Sexual desire and performance has slightly decreased but still very functional. 12/9/10 No supplements or hormones taken at this time FreeT 8.9 (6.8-21.5) Total T 561 (280-800) DHT 11 (30-85) Dhea 266 (44.3-331.0) Estradiol 21.9 (7.6-42.6) Free T3 2.7 (2.0-4.4) Vit D 28.4(32.0-100) and B12 372(211-946) New Labs 1/27/11 -after taking 50mg Testosterone Cypionate/50mg Dhea/compounded SRT3/T4(equiv-1gr Armour) Vit D10,000Iu and 5000mcg B12 Free T 34.2 (7.2-24.0) Total T 831 (193-740) Don't know why the reference number changed from above -same lab - LabCorp. DHT 37 (30-85) Dhea 487.3 (44.3-331.0) Estradiol 47.1 (7.6-42.6) FT3 2.8 (2.0-4.4)No change from above values on the compounded meds so Dr. changed to 60mg Armour-I know that compounded meds are notoriously weak. No Vit D or B12 tested this time. Feeling a little better on meds although no change in weight loss. Muscle tone does seems to be making some improvement. Mood improvement was very noticeable at beginning of treatment but has now returned to as it was before. Slight changes in sexual desire. Dr. has just increased T to 75mg/week. Made the changes in thyroid meds and said that everything else looked fine. Did not appear to be converting to Estrogen. Labs do show to be making some improvement but was concerned about the increase in DHT and Estradiol, even after his comments. Also, what about the Dhea?? Would appreciate your opinion. Thanks, Cal
