Guest guest
Hi HaroldZ and Welcome, So your Dr. gave you testim did he test your Testosterone levels if so what were they. If your low on T and high on Estradiol and I feel your are high on it all you need to try first is to get your Estradiol levels down. Here is a file I put together about Indolplex/DIM. ================================= ALL ABOUT DIM. Sure here is a few links that are all about it. But there are a lot of Co.'s out there selling DIM that don't work well. Indolplex/DIM is the best it dose not get killed in your stomach when you take it. Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a stable indole found in cruciferous vegetables which promotes a beneficial estrogen metabolism in both women and men. http://www.dimfaq.com/index.htm in this link it's full of links about it. http://qualitycounts.com/fpdim.html http://www.jbc.org/content/278/23/21136.full If you have DIM in caps it's not Indolplex so to take this and to get it to work open the cap pore the DIM into a spoon add some Olive oil and take it this helps to keep it from getting killed in your stomach. The following is some links to where you can buy Indolplex/DIM. http://www.vitaglo.com/e5336.html http://www.vitacost.com/EnzymaticTherapyEstroBalancewithDIM/searchby-PN/searchte\ xt-dim http://www.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Pure-Rip-with-DIM-60-Tablets/12814?at=0 http://www.iherb.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Pure-Rip-with-DIM-60-Tablets/12814?at=0 http://www.estrobalance.net/ http://www.easyhealthzone.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=PP0108 & click=71 http://www.nbizz.com/longevityclinic/listings/213.html http://www.drugnatural.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD & Store_Code=DMOS & Product_\ Code=156497 http://www.smartbomb.com/itindo9.html?utm_source=mercent & utm_medium=shopcompare & \ utm_content=itindo9 & utm_campaign=mbsdb & mr:trackingCode=C6AEFBD1-E681-DE11-B7F3-0\ 019B9C043EB & mr:referralID=NA http://www.ritecare.com/cgi-bin/cart.pl?db=product_db.dat & category=natural+medic\ ine & method=any_words & search=iti-75336 http://www.naturamart.com/phytopharmica-pms-formula-with-indoplex-120-caps.html How to take Indolplex/DIM take one tablet 120 mgs at dinner time it can take 2 weeks to 2 months to get your Estradiol levels down it’s all about how high you are in your levels. What you need to do is get this down to about 20 pg/ml. When you get this low your night time and morning wood will come back so strong it will wake you up this means most of the time your at your best levels or what I call the sweet spot. Keep taking the DIM but if your wood stops your going down to low so just stop taking it. The day your wood comes back go back on the DIM but cut the tablet in half. If your Testosterone was tested and low but your not on TRT get it tested again you might find your levels came up some 200 to 300 points. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 Co-Moderator Phil > From: HaroldZ <geralvon@...> > Subject: What do those names mean? > > Date: Sunday, March 7, 2010, 11:58 AM > What is Indoplex/DIM and what is TRT? > What is PureRip (? spelling)? And how are these drugs > given? > > Years ago I went to an endocrinologist and he told me that > my testosterone was normal but that my estradiol was very > high. He didn't recommend any treatment. Since > then I remarried and my libido has gone down steadily to > nil. I also don't get morning wood and if I eke out an > ejaculation the amount is very small. I spoke to my > internist and he prescribed Testim 50 mg once a day. > It gave me a weird feeling - sort of shaky or woozy - so I > stopped it as it was hard to concentrate on my work. I > wonder if all the testosterone is being converted to > Estradiol. I asked my internist some time before if he > would prescribe Arimidex for me as it prevents the > conversion of testosterone to estradiol, but he > wouldn't. At this point I don't know how to find an > endocrinologist here in the Boston area that is > knowledgeable about this field. > > Complicating the picture is the fact that 12 years ago at > age 62 I developed a skin lymphoma and I have been taking > Methotrexate since which has kept the lesions at bay. > I also think that drug decreased my libido even more than it > was at the time and I believe it sped up my hair loss. > At this point I don't really care if I ever have sex again, > but my wife who is ten years younger does care. > > Any help you guys can give me would be appreciated. > I'll have to get used to looking at my email, which I > never did before. > > geralvon > > > > ------------------------------------ > >
Guest guest
My testosterone levels and estradiol levels have not been tested in a long time. I would like to see an endocrinologist who takes an active interest in this problem. BTW has anybody in this group been put on Arimidex? Has it helped? Guest guest
Hi Phil. A DIM question or possibly a dumb question. All the DIM I have seen appears to be 25% diindolylmethane. When you say " take 120 mg " do you mean 120 mg of diindolylmethane or do you mean 120mg including all the other additives that go along with it? Right now I am taking Bioresponse DIM 150 which is a 300mg capsule with 25% (75mg) diindolylmethane. Should I be taking more than one capsule a day? BTW I mix it with olive oil because it isn't Indoplex. Guest guest
First let me tell you Endo's and Uro's are not good Dr.'s for this problem. If you in need of a new Dr. for this let us know where you live. Yes many of us are on Arimidex but it's hard to get a Dr. to give it to a man. And we use a very small amount of it 1/4 of a one mg. pill every 3 days .25 mgs the pill comes in one mg. So I use a pill cutter to cut the pill in half then I use a single edge razor blade to cut the half peace in half to make a 1/4 pace. If you can read up on this here are a some good links the more you know about this the better off you are when looking for or seeing a Dr. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 http://www.thehiddendisease.com/ Co-Moderator Phil > From: HaroldZ <geralvon@...> > Subject: Re: What do those names mean? > > Date: Sunday, March 7, 2010, 2:02 PM > > My testosterone levels and estradiol levels have not been > tested in a long time. I would like to see an > endocrinologist who takes an active interest in this > problem. BTW has anybody in this group been put on > Arimidex? Has it helped?  Harold > > > > > > > > From: HaroldZ <geralvon@...> > > > Subject: What do those names > mean? > > > > > > Date: Sunday, March 7, 2010, 11:58 AM > > > What is Indoplex/DIM and what is TRT? > > > What is PureRip (? spelling)? And how are > these drugs > > > given? > > > > > > Years ago I went to an endocrinologist and he > told me that > > > my testosterone was normal but that my estradiol > was very > > > high. He didn't recommend any treatment. > Since > > > then I remarried and my libido has gone down > steadily to > > > nil. I also don't get morning wood and if I > eke out an > > > ejaculation the amount is very small. I spoke > to my > > > internist and he prescribed Testim 50 mg once a > day. > > > It gave me a weird feeling - sort of shaky or > woozy - so I > > > stopped it as it was hard to concentrate on my > work. I > > > wonder if all the testosterone is being converted > to > > > Estradiol. I asked my internist some time > before if he > > > would prescribe Arimidex for me as it prevents > the > > > conversion of testosterone to estradiol, but he > > > wouldn't. At this point I don't know how to > find an > > > endocrinologist here in the Boston area that is > > > knowledgeable about this field. > > > > > > Complicating the picture is the fact that 12 > years ago at > > > age 62 I developed a skin lymphoma and I have > been taking > > > Methotrexate since which has kept the lesions at > bay. > > > I also think that drug decreased my libido even > more than it > > > was at the time and I believe it sped up my hair > loss. > > > At this point I don't really care if I ever have > sex again, > > > but my wife who is ten years younger does > care. > > > > > > Any help you guys can give me would be > appreciated. > > > I'll have to get used to looking at my > email, which I > > > never did before. > > > > > > geralvon > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > >
Guest guest
I have found that if it dose not say Indolplex/DIM it dose not work good. Indolplex/DIM comes in Tablets and dose not get killed in your stomach. What you have did not work for me and most men I tell about this they read what I post then they buy the lowest cost DIM out there. I did read one guy opened up the caps of this and put it into a spoon then added Olive oil and took it this way and he said it worked. He felt the oil got it past his stomach. The Tablet is 120 mgs with all that is in it. Guest guest
DIM is a fat-soluble compound which probably explains why mixing it in olive oil increases absorption. The ingredient in broccoli which gives it it's anti-cancer and anti-estrogen properties is glucobrassicin. Glucobrassicin breaks down to Indole-3-carbinol, and in the acid environment in the stomach, is converted to DIM. DIM's anti-estrogen action works by accelerating the conversion of E2 to less active forms of estrogen, in essence lowering the levels of estradiol. I saw my primary care doctor last week and explained my symptoms (no erections even with cialis, no libido, etc.) and I expressed my opinion that my estrogen levels were too high. She dismissed the idea because I wasn't complaining about gynnecomastia. She agreed to check my T-levels. I also asked to switch from Androgel to testosterone cypionate. Unfortunately, she prescribed 200mg IM every 2 weeks. When she calls with the results of the testosterone test, I'll try to convince her to change that to 100mg every week. I really want to avoid the highs and lows asssciated with every other week dosing. I also decided to pay $60 out-of-pocket for my sensitive estradiol test. In all fairness to my doctor, she doesn't know much about TRT and she'll refer me to a Urologist for further TRT tweaking. She won't send me to an endrocrinologist again, because the one she sent me to last year didn't work out. The endrocrinolgist told me that she didn't believe TRT was a good idea. The endocrinologist my wife went to last year was incompetent. She had my wife take on oral glucose tolerance test, and since her two-hour blood glucose levels were within normal parameters, she didn't follow-up even when my wife suffered an severe hypoglycemic episode two and a half hours after the start of the test. We we at a restaurant when it happened, and while I purchased something sweet quickly, she measured her blood glucose and it was 40. No wonder she was shaking and dizzy. She called the endo with this information, and the doctor did not even return her call. Needless to say, I have a pretty low opinion of endocrinologists. She also said that the urologist would have a much better idea of which endo to send me to. This forum has been extremely helpful in my search to find out what's been happening to me. I appreciate everybody's input. Although I have a degree in Pharmacy, this is the kind of stuff that's never mentioned in any textbooks. ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Sun, March 7, 2010 3:29:31 PM Subject: Re: What do those names mean?  I have found that if it dose not say Indolplex/DIM it dose not work good. Guest guest
Ed to help you get on shots every weeks show this to your Dr. it's from the AACE Guidelines on page 11 it states to do shots every 7 to 10 days still it's dated and some of use find doing shots 2x's a week works much better to keep Estradiol levels lower and to help keep blood thinner and to keep one more leveled. http://www.aace.com/pub/pdf/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf Also with my Dr. yrs ago I asked him to stop sending me to Endo's and Uro's they were only messing me up I gave him a copy of Dr. paper from his web site " TRT: A Recipe for Success and His HCG Update " doing this helped to get my Dr. into learning about TRT today he is one of the best in my area. www.allthingsmale.com You can try showing this study to your Dr. about older men and high levels of Estradiol causing low Testosterone. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 http://www.medibolics.com/ArimidexBoostsTestosterone.htm When I first went on arimidex I was worried about my BCBS paying for it at the Drug store I was told they pay for it and they sell a lot of it for men. I feel your Dr. is a keeper and you just need to work on her in time she will come around. Mine did.
