Guest guest
hey guys, I get a testosterone injection every other week of 400MG. Would I do better to get 200MG every week instead of the full dosage every other week?? Bob In a message dated 10/15/2010 12:08:23 P.M. Had also been a bit frustrated with my thyroid treatment. Was feeling lousy with high RT3 on a T4 only medication. I started Isocort as per Phil's instructions Now? Feeling great. RT3 normal. Free testosterone? Drum roll..... 847!!!! Could this be Isocort alone? I did add a lot of Vitamin D Oddly, my TSH is still high. Addendum: Showed all of the above to my endo and he urged me to get off of the Isocort. He's against any type of cortisol treatment. I asked him for T3 instead and he agreed. So, in a way, that's good news. I at least have T3 to add to my crappy T4 only treatment. I'll play it by ear as far as dropping Isocort. He also agreed to put me on shots. Hated to ruin a good thing, but in the next month or so, I will lose insurance and Testim is $600 / month!!! MANY THANKS TO THE MEN ON THIS BOARD. No way I'd have the above progress without your support.
Guest guest
this is great NEWS I never did good on gels and the cost even covered by my BCBS is off the charts. Your feeling better on Isocort because now your Thyroid T4 only med is converting into T3 and getting carried out of your blood into your cells. I was on Armour for yrs. and taking a lot of it 4 grains a day. My labs today on Synthroid 150 mcs and 5 mcgs of T3 only 2x's/day are just as good as my labs on Armour. The new Armour that is out there I don't want to try I feel I am doing good on what I am on so why change it. My RT3 is high above the top of the range but it's because I am in a lot of pain in my lower back, hips and upper legs. Due to taking Statin Drug. So once I build my CoQ10 levels back up and the pain stops my RT3 levels will come back down. I feel people are over reacting about high levels of RT3 you don't need to treat this if you have good levels for your Cortisol and Free T3. You can't go on T3 only meds and drive down your T4 to bring down RT3 if you don't fix the problem making your RT3 go so high. And you can't stay on T3 only meds for life. Guest guest
Don't know post your labs how thick is you blood and how high are your Estradiol levels. Did your Dr. start you at this dose or did you find you need to work your way up this high due to low levels. Most men start at about 100 mgs / wk. Do labs and if there not up into the upper 1/3 of there labs range and feeling good. They go up say to 125 mgs / wks hold this for 6 to 8 weeks do labs see how they are doing and so on. I eat up my T meds as fast as I take them so I do my shots every 3 days right now because of all the pain I am in I need to shot 100 mgs every 3 days to keep my levels up. Men that start at to high a level have a hard time going lower you need to cut the dose over a long time so you don't feel like crap coming down on your dose. Men doing to much Testosterone can get thicker blood need to give blood to keep it thin. Have higher levels of Estradiol that needs a lot of Arimidex to keep it down. And them higher levels will stress out your Adrenals make them work to hard so they get tired and can't make enough Cortisol so the feel like crap for having lower Cortisol levels this makes the Thyroid even act up. So if your labs are over the top of the range you need to think about this long and hard.
