Guest guest
As some remember I was scheduled for a head scan looking for a pituitary tumor. Mainly due to a quick onset of visual disturbances, headaches, and a slight amount of dizziness, combined with my very low T levels. Seems like a no-brainer to me to check this first. I did not understand when the testing facility called and said I was set up for CT with/without contrast as I posted before. I never scheduled it BTW. I took your word, as well as doing a lot of research on my own in legitimate medical articles, and all I could see was the MRI was much more successful at detection unless it is very large where a CT would pick it up. I didn't want to have 2 tests,......so why not have the correct one first. Finally got a call back from my docs office, and here is what he said to his nurse. He wanted the CT first as he thinks they are less likely to show artifacts that can be misconstrued as something that isn't there. He also had her tell me that if I wanted it changed to an MRI that he would do it. That is the path I chose, and I am waiting for them to change the orders to schedule it. I hope I made the right decision, and I also hope that I have not ticked him off greatly. I just feel that one must watch out for their own health as much as the doctor,......actually more. Also,....he was looking largely for a pituitary issue. I verified that before I made the decision to ask for the MRI. Please tell me I did the right thing!
