Guest guest
Look, let's go back to mid December 2010. I got an E2 reading analyzed in Brussels, Belgium, at 69 pg/mL. The range is <30 pg/mL. I emailed the lab, RP-LAB (supposed to be an amazing lab! Hertoghe loves them and calles them " Awesome! " ), and asked them to do another analyze of the same blood if they had any left. It was more than 1 month since they did the first analyze. And they actually found some of my blood and did another E2-analyze. The results came back as 40 pg/mL. My question is: How can the same blood give two different results? 69 and 40 pg/mL? I emailed them back and asked what THAT was all about, and got this reply: " The calibration curve of the assay of estradiol ranging from 80 to 1000 pg/mL. So there is a greater variation coefficient when you are in the lower partof the curve (<80 pg / mL). Usually is measured rates ranging from 100 to 1000 pg / mL, while knowingthat the error of measurement on low values is more important. Again I told you that the audit was performed on serum from 1 month old. For me there was no significant difference between 69 and 40 pg / mL. " Say WHAT? I really did NOT get that, and my English is perfect. Maybe Phil can explain? I also got a THIRD E2 result, done in a Norwegian lab only a couple of days ago. Blood was drawn at the same time as the first sample done in December for the Brussels, Belgium lab, at 11 am, fasting (I did take Hydrocortison before both blood draws) - So the results should be comparable! The result from the brand new E2-test is: 0.15* nmol/l (<0.14 nmol/l). So although they use a different measurement method, we can see that this new result is slightly above the top range for men. I guess this means I am above top range, cause the " control-test " they did of my blood in Brussels, Belgium, showed an E2 of 40 pg/mL, while their range is <30 pg/mL. So I assume my body is converting into too much E2. HAVING SAID THAT, let's go back to mid November. 1 month before the Brussels, belgium blood was analyzed, my E2 was at 0.11 nmol/l. WHICH WAS IN RANGE, AT LEAST! That labs range is <0.18. This is a third lab, but it's also Norwegian like the lab I used this last week. The one I'm using this time, is the best one in all of Norway. I don't know what to make from all these results. All I know is I take my blood in the morning, at 11 am, fasting - I do this as a golden standard to ensure my results can be comparable to each other. Even if I use different labs - I have to do that. I also have other hormone results from this latest Norwegian lab, done along with the E2: S-DHEA 11.6 (6.0 - 18.0 nmol/l) S-Dihydrotestosterone: Not yet complete S-Free Testosterone Index: 11.6 (3.0 - 14.7) Free Testosterone Index (FTI) is measured: Testosteron (nmol/l) x 10/SHBG (nmol/l) = FTI. S-FSH: 1.2 (1 - 12 IE/l) S-Progesterone: 1.3 (<3.0 nmol/l) S-SHBG: 20 (8 - 60 nmol/l) S-Testosterone: 23.1 (8.0 - 35.0 nmol/l) S-Estradiol: 0.15* (0.06 - 0.14 nmol/l) I did increase HC from 35 to 40 mg a week ago cause of slightly high temps at 99.0, but got too low temps on more HC. Now they're like 98.0. But I did just get a 98.6 reading so, I don't know. My face is definitely MUCH more bloated now on 40 mg HC. Could be because HC uses up Thyroid. E2 " eating up " Testosterone could also be a big issue for me now. And I have no idea if anyone here knows what THIS is all about, but last night I found black patches inside my right cheek, in my mouth. Scary as hell. Looks like the black substance, which seems to be within the flesh of my cheek, is moving onto my teeth as well. Yikes. Is this the black death or what!?!? Asked GP about it, he looked at it and just said " some kind of blood blablabla " and didn't seem worried about it. But I still am worried about the black patches. Especially because my overall health is VERY bad at the moment: Pressure in my head, total stuck nose (only right side), and just the horrible feeling of not being in the real world! :-( Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it guys! Best Regards, in Norway
