Guest guest
That's exactly the amount my new doc told me to take today. He also prescribed hcg and told me to take 250iu on day 5 and six after injection. It's pretty much dr. crisler's protocol just halF the T. I think it's small but we'll see. Huge difference from the 400 every 2 weeks my previous doc was giving me. Did you ask him about hcg? > > When i was put on Androgel by my doctor my t level was 186. After 4 months of 4 pumps a day my level was 143. My doctor increased my dosage to 6 pumps and after a month my level was 546 but there is no physical difference. He's saying i may not feel a difference for a few more months. I told him enough of the gel i want to try the cypionate and he complied. My problem is he prescribed 50 mg a week. Women take this dosage. I'm 6'2 245 pounds and friends are saying anything less than 100mg a week will do nothing for me. He also prescribed a 1ml 27g syringe. I think i may need another doctor. Guest guest
I'm 220lbs and shooting 60mg every 3 days. I still don't feel that good. I think I need a lot more. 50mg is definetly not enough for you. The doctor probably wants to work up slowly. Does he have you rechecking your levels after 2 weeks? The syringe should be ok though. I use a 28g 1ml syringe and shoot it into my outer thigh. It's kind of a pain in the back side getting to oil into the syringe, but thats just a minor inconvenience. > > When i was put on Androgel by my doctor my t level was 186. Guest guest
You could show him Dr. 's paper TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update at www.allthingsmale.com Or the AACE Guildlines but this is old. http://www.aace.com/pub/pdf/guidelines/hypogonadism.pdf No one starts on shots at 50 mgs / week most of us have a problem getting Dr.'s to let us do shots every week. He is just trying to start low and work his way up all you can do is try this and call him in a week and if you feel good then fall back hard tell him. Guest guest
If your testis work good the HCG will keep your Testosterone levels up it acts like the LH message sent to your testis from your brain that tells your testis to make Testosterone and it acts a lot faster and only last 2 days. Guest guest
The weight of a man has nothing to do with the dose of T shot one does. You need to run labs but go by how your feel keeping your Estradiol levels down most men do good keeping there Total T up into the upper 1/3 of there labs range. It's all in this link. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: jim <virtuosa150@...> > Subject: Re: Switching to Cypionate > > Date: Saturday, April 10, 2010, 7:34 AM > I'm 220lbs and shooting 60mg every 3 > days. Guest guest
It's just the way the Dr. is playing it safe it very hard to find your on to much and then have to lower the dose. Going up on the dose is easy lowering you crash of feel like crap until your body adjusts to the new lower dose. We feel bad when levels fall to fast or go down. Guest guest
Hi Mark, HCG is used for fertility. My insurance company initially denied coverage for HCG because it is primarily used for fertility purposes. When the doctor clarified it was prescribed for Hypogonadism, they approved the coverage. Guest guest
Does HCG stimulate FSH? Does anything, maybe clomid. BTW, Phil I have decided to go see Dr Crisler. He is the doc I need to see. I haven't scheduled an appintment yet but I will soon. I need a doc that understands all male hormones. Guest guest
HCG acts like LH and a little like FSH but as your on it your brin sees this and slows down sending your own LH and FSH. But as soon as you stop using it your brain kinks back in as long as your not on TRT. On TRT your LH and FSH is shut down this is why we use HCG to keep them cells working. Dr. is the best your going to feel much better seeing him. Guest guest
It works very fast it's your testis that are making Testosterone when you do HCG but it's not upping your LH and FSH it looks to the body like it's Lh and makes your testis go to work. Yet if it's been some time that you were on TRT and they were shut down and got smaller. It can take a few weeks to get them going full time. Even if they don't work good they will make your base levels again. Here is a copy of a post to me by Dr. to help me get my Dr. to let me use HCG. I started at 500 IU's 3x's a week did 15 shots then did labs my Total T went from 600 to 1200 this is how I found out I am Secondary and that my Pituitary dose not work right. ==================================================== He probably feels that since you suffer primary hypogonadism (I am guessing) there is no use in adding HCG to your protocol. There are several reasons why this is not so. First, you have not lost all Leydig cells, so any HCG you take will stimulate those who still function to produce endogenous testosterone. This will support testicular size. We should not ignore this aesthetic consideration. Next, if he reads my work, he will learn that HPTA-suppressed (as all TRT patients are to some extent) also suffer decreased pregenenolone levels, which is the first step after CHOL in all three hormonal pathways which begin with CHOL. HCG increases pregnenolone production, and therefore restores a more natural balance of our hormones. Next, nearly all TRT patients who add in HCG to their regimens report an increased sense of well-being and also libido. These are genuine quality of life issues. Finally, I just instinctively do not want all those LH receptors (including those we have yet to discover and appreciate) unstimulated. ==================================================== And this link supports what he feels about the use of HCG in men. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/90/5/2595 At the time I started on HCG I was on TRT 23 yrs and my testis were the size of small grapes. They started working again after all this time and in a few months they came back up in size to normal. Guest guest
Here is how you tell if your Testosterone tests low with a low level of LH and FSH and good levels of Estradiol then this means your Pituitary is not sending the LH and FSH messages to your Testis to tell them to make Testosterone. A lot of Dr.'s miss this. So if you were put on TRT and have been on it for some time. If you added in HCG and your Total T was say 500 and you do 500 IU's of HCG 3x's a week and after the 15 shot you do labs again if your Total T went up more then 200 Points mine doubled you need to have your Pituitary looked at. Now lets say your Total T was low and your LH and FSH were high or above mid range with good levels of Estradiol 20 pg/ml. This means your Testis are being told to make more Testosterone and they can't this is why LH and FSH are on the higher side. If this is the case you need to be checked our by a Uro for testis cancer or other things that stop them from working like an infection.
