Guest guest
Not trying to give advice but if that was me I would consider taking a benadryl just prior to the injection.Again that is just me and I'm not qualified to give medical advice. > > Going on my 6th week of TRT injections. 1ml/weekly into upper thigh area. > I am experiencing pain, swelling, rash, low grade fever 4 hours after injection. Dr. said I am allergic/sensitive to the cottonseed oil and maybe the benzyl alcohol. > The compounding pharmacy changed to sesame seed oil. No rash, but still have the pain, swelling, fever etc... lasts about 4 days. > Dr. wants to switch me over to compounded gel. Tried the gels before and didn't feel it was working. Any Suggestions? > Thanks, > Greg > > > > >
Guest guest
If you're truly allergic to something, you really shouldn't take it at all. Benadryl will just mask a symptom that could become even more serious with continued exposure. Has your thyroid been checked out? If hypothyroid, skin can be thick and not absorb gels well. > > > > Going on my 6th week of TRT injections. 1ml/weekly into upper thigh area. > > I am experiencing pain, swelling, rash, low grade fever 4 hours after injection. Guest guest
When you got it compounded with sesame oil, that was the only filler? Discomfort is probably common, but a fever? Makes it sound like your TRT is bad. Is this a reputable pharmacy? Do you tend to be allergic to everything? Is your thyroid optimized? Your dose is not based on TSH, I hope. Hands/feet not cold, have full eyebrows, smooth heels, pulse in the 70s?
