Guest guest
Odd, I thought the liver had everything to do with menstrual and bowel processes. Am I wrong that it is the liver that processes hormones? Nope, you are not wrong. It is the liver that processes hormones, and hormones in our body in EXCESS are toxic--- the job of the liver is to neutralize and make them harmless to us before they're dumped. Guest guest
Cheryl, What a sort of wonderful update to read how all turned out afterwards. Wow! Actually involving some commuication(signing), too. Hope you're getting some rest after lifting Angel and next time warn the doctor that she needs to confront him. That was too cute on wanting the doc to know how she felt. Hugs for going through her bloodwork yesterday. I'll be thinking & praying of you all when Angel has her endoscopy & her vist with the Ped.GI.Surgeon that she will cooperate and definintely some answers. Do you think Angel would understand a doctors visit pic for her next appt.? Just wondering. Take care. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, I think it is wonderful that Angel has an awareness of the hospital routine. It doesn't take much for us to get excited over all the small miracles in our life. We do rejoice in all the small things and we have a keener sense of awarness than most typical parents. It is wonderful news and I do hope you hip calms down, so painful. Charlyne Mom to Zeb 9 DS/OCD ?
Guest guest
Hi Irma, One of the things that has brought us the best success is a Visit to the Dr. Social story that we use. We use real photographs and follow the same story line every time. It was the only thing that allow him to examine her. But we found that we couldn't use the book with a different dr or a different office. So I made one for our GP's office using the exact same story line and photos of his office. And it has worked for us. I don't think I want to do one for the lab though as knowing she was going might make her too anxious. I will book a ped appt right after her next bloodwork. I use pic syms in her communipac when ever we go anywhere and they help alot for most things but aren't worth beans when we need to get her examined. thats where the real photos do best, in the more anxious situations. Children's hosp is going to have someone photograph the surgeon and the daycare, playroom etc at the hosp so that I can make a book up for our visit. Thanks for your prayers. hugs, Cheryl, Mom to Angel, 5, ds-asd > > Hi everyone, > > Just wanted to share something incredible that happened. > > > > I took Angel in for bloodwork yesterday at our local hosp. Guest guest
Thanks Charlyne, My hip is improving nicely, thanks to all my kids helping out so very much. They have to put my socks on for me still and pull me out of bed in the morning, but otherwise the pain is subsiding. I will rethink how we will be dealing with breakdowns when they occur so that I am not hurting myself anymore. hugs,Cheryl mom to Angel, 5, ds-asd > Hi Cheryl, > I think it is wonderful that Angel has an awareness of the hospital routine. > It doesn't take much for us to get excited over all the small miracles in our > life. Guest guest
Hi Cheryl , You're so good, many hugs for this success. Wish I knew all this when was Angels age. It would of cut down a lot of wear & tear on my back with all the struggles. 's doctors visits have improved the latter part of last year. Remember this is all still new to me on the autistic spectrum disorder and boy am I learning. I could see where the social story would help in certain places. That is wonderful that Angel understands it,especially at her age. Thanks for sharing this. Many hugs . He needed weekly then monthly blood draws for a long time and I think that helped to desensitize him but now he loves watching shows about surgery and is in heaven when he sees them start an IV. Guest guest
Hi, Graham! Hope you are feeling good! Those CBC counts, check this out: exactly nine months ago, before tx and all, my WBC was 14.1 (elevated for years now). Now the WBC is 4.1. Got anemia from tx. Went from Hemoglobin 14.5 to below 11 by week 3! It was around 9 when I couldn't move anymore. The neutrophils, the Monocytes, Eosinophils, Basophils, mine fluctuate. But NOT as low as yours. You should make sure the doc addresses your problem. Also, I found supplements have helped me all around--look up the natural requirements for healthy blood. You'll find dietary hints and much more. God bless you, Suzy > Hi, my WBC is 2.2 and my neutrophyls are 30%, meaning i have 660 > neutrophils, which I think is low. Today, I do a complete blood cell count and find that > Basophils are extremely elevated, as well as Eosinophils. My liver > shows only an elevated bilirubin. I know that these white blood cells could be responding to parasites- maybe candida? ==>Candida definitely affects the liver. I know a boy that was hospitalized with liver problems when he was 10 years old but they couldn't find any cause - his mother took him to a naturopath who put him on the candida program. Liver function test 2 years later were normal. ==>Elevated Basophils and Eosinophils are indications the immune system is trying to handle/fight something for sure. If you want to know whether you have candida do Dr. Crook's Questionnaire, which is the only real proof, because all tests are inconclusive. The reason is that everyone has candida normally existing in their bodies, and most people have built up antibodies for candida. Even if you don't have candida overgrowth the main principles of my diet will help your body heal naturally. The recommendations also help your liver, adrenals and get the immune system up to par. ==>You can get stool tests for parasites, so you know what kind. If you have them you can then treat them naturally. ==> I have also done 3 rounds of DMSA to chelate mercury. DMSA can suppress neutrophils, which mine are, but I'm not sure about elevating the others. Anyone have any experience with this? ==>I don't know what DMSA does because my diet, supplements, etc. will naturally chelate out mercury and all other heavy metals, without putting such a strain on the body. It's one of the things the body does best when you give it what it needs to chelate properly, i.e. mostly good fats, along with plenty of minerals, supplements, chlorella or liquid chlorophyll, etc. Bee
Guest guest
I am so sorry that is struggling. I know this is hard for you ... you have that college deadline to get him functioning and feeling well. I pray that you are able to get this all figured out. It is promising to know that he did well before on the Celexa and that most likely, it would again help him tremendously. You know we use the Native Remedies products very successfully and we are adding a calcium/magnesium supplement (which is a tremendous anti-anxiety tool) along with the Coromega -- but let me tell you we would go on an SSRI in a heartbeat if the Native Remedies stopped working. I hope you are able to convince him to go back on. Guest guest
Oh I'm sorry to hear that your son is having such a hard time. Glad that your checking into the bloodwork. I'm wondering what your concern is with the thyroid? Are you having him tested to see if he has pandas syndrome as well? Why does your son not want medication? My son is on Prozac, it works wonders for him at high doses, of course it took time getting there. Zoloft works for me..I've tried other meds but the zoloft makes me feel more like myself. I have issues with my thyroid, not hyper, or hypo, but I have non cancerous tumours on them that make me tired. When they relieved the pressure I had six incredible months. I'm supposed to go back every three months..but haven't. Neglecting myself..but I know its time to. Anyway, an ultrasound of the thyroid would show any problems as well. Good luck, Please respond, I'm curious, <@...> wrote: OK, I've got an appt for to get a physical and I'm going to ask for some bloodwork (not usually done with this doctor). Guest guest
((((HUGS)))!! I totally know how you feel. Bre is in the same boat. We had her thyroid checked awhile ago. It was normal. I know right now her allergies are acting up, being springtime and all. She sees the med doc tomorrow. I am writing down alot of questions to ask. I try to have her eat right, take vitamins, etc. Never had her strep titers checked. She wakes up alot at night so I know she is not getting enough sleep. She does nap in the afternoon though. I also know how you feel about the depression and possible suicide thoughts. I worry too about Bre when she tells me she has thoughts about suicide. I have been reassured though by her therapist they are just ocd thoughts, not suicide ideation. I still watch her closely though and if she is depressed we watch a funny movie, walk the dogs, etc. It is so hard at times, but we can get through this girl! We are tough!! Guest guest
Sorry you are going through this! We ALL have appreciated your help and support through the years on this board and wish your son a turn around very soon. If the Celexa worked well in 9th and 10th, why is he reluctant to try it again. I know this disease is illogical. My DD (12) is going through a med. change right now. We're taking her off Zyprexa and starting her on Buspar. I have my doubts that the Buspar will come anywhere near helping like an antipsychotic does for her, but we'll try it. We have only added the Buspar so far slowly, we aren't tapering the Zyprexa for 2 more week. So, she is getting the Buspar " bonus " without taking away the Zyprexa yet and she said this morning, " Mom, I FEEL GREAT! Don't change anything! I just want to stay like this. " I told her we had to try without the Zyprexa and see what happens and she was really bummed because she likes feeling NORMAL. So, comparing that to your son, I would think he would try anything to get rid of those bad thoughts. Hugs to you, Dina
