Sandy, 's napping now; let's see, its around 5:30 here.

is up late at night too, but with the " naps " he takes I figure

that's partly why.

The therapist we talked to yesterday, via phone, doesn't feel

has good insight into his OCD. He also feels should get on an

SSRI. He recognized the difficulty when something is spiritual vs OCD

that is having. Ugh, sounds funny to say but I wish he was

just back to his touching, repeating rituals with NO bad thoughts! It

was hard to work through too, but this just seems tougher!

Hi ! Well I know how the thyroid can really affect a person

if it's not working correctly (depression, etc.) and my mom did have

surgery on hers - they either removed part of it or all of it, can't

remember. So I just want to rule it out. Same with any strep that

might be around. Or any other virus. Boy, I'd love to just have

EVERY level of EVERYTHING checked, LOL. But I figure that'll add to

the cost so am just wanting to ask for the tests I think might count

the most re OCD, depression. I'm not sure his insurance will cover

this (too soon since they last billed a physical) so may have to pay

myself.

Get yourself back to the doctor! :) How do they relieve the pressure

of your tumors, will they eventually remove them? (you can email me

that directly/privately)

Thanks,

>

> Oh I'm sorry to hear that your son is having such a hard

time. Glad that your checking into the bloodwork. I'm wondering

what your concern is with the thyroid? Are you having him tested to

see if he has pandas syndrome as well?

> Why does your son not want medication? My son is on Prozac, it

Thank you , you're right I have that college deadline!! Right

now I am sooooo glad he's going to go to the community college and

will be at home!

I will keep Native Remedies in mind. I just ordered 2 other things

that he is willing to try so figure that will take a month or longer

unless he gets some bad effects which means it will take less than a

month, LOL! Got the Coromega too so that makes 3 things. At least he

*is* willing to try something.

He didn't want prescribed medication the first time around (back in

middle school) but agreed to try it in 9th grade. He did well at that

time on inositol powder but OCD was still *there* in the background.

I wondered if a prescribed medication would do even better, make it

even " disappear " !! So he tried Celexa. I can't say one did better -

for him - than the other. I did feel that his inositol might be

pooping out after 3 years though and wasn't sure I could do the $$ at

the time of going back up on the dosage; his insurance at the time

paid 100% for prescriptions though so that was GREAT!

> I am so sorry that is struggling. I know this is hard for

you ... you have that college deadline to get him functioning and

feeling well. I pray that you are able to get this all figured out.

It is promising to know that he did well before on the Celexa and

If you're all feeling a lot of pressure over his finishing high

school and starting college, remind him he doesn't have to rush it. I

took 2 years off between high school and college. He could also take

just 1 or 2 classes he's really interested in. I remember high school

being so much pressure I felt I couldn't do it any more. Either

college was better, or the break helped, because college went much

better.

I hope he's feeling better soon,

  • 3 years later...

Hi folks -

I'm a long time member of this group, 34 years old, however I spend much of my

time over at SSRI Medication, as I believe my problems stem from 3 years of Celexa use.

Anyway, I had some bloodwork done, the numbers don't look good..I'd love to hear

some thoughts, recommendations. It doesn't appear as if it's possible to have a

sex drive with these numbers...

Testosterone, Total 399 (250-1100)

Testosterone, Free 60.8 (46-224)

Test, Bioavailable 127.7 (110-575)

SHBG 27 (8-48)

LH 6.6 (1.5-9.3)

Thanks -

Luther

I would suggest getting with a competent dr such as dr overbeck, crisler, or

mariano who specializes in HRT. One would have to look at the over all picture

from neurology, immune, lifestyles, endocrine nutrition, ect in order to know

where the imbalance may be. Once imbalances are identified then one needs to

have an understanding of what takes priority and how these system interact with

one another. I have worked on alot of complex cases that needed to be chunked

down and all system supported while the body rebalanced it self. One needs to

start off with complete blood test for hormones, thyroid, and other genereal

parameters to rule out specific areas. Saliva adrenal testing would also be huge

asset, or even Nutra eval is a comprehensive test which can open the doors to

hidden underlying issues not suspected. There are many ways to handle this but

getting a comprehensive appraoch is a much more successful approach then just

HRT.
