Guest guest
Steve, Do the test most men that do the test are on TRT it will not change the why the test works. What your trying to see in this test is your Cortisol rhythm. You need not pay much att. to the levels as much as you need to be highest in the morning going down lower by bedtime. Most men on TRT have low Cortisol levels due to the stress on them from having low T. And it can mess up your Thyroid levels read this link it's good. And in this link read the link to FAQ's about this. http://livingnetwork.co.za/lifestylefunctional-medicine/hormones/adrenal-fatigue\ / Co-Moderator Phil > From: audioguy19 <audioguy19@...> > Subject: Does TRT influence cortisol test? > > Date: Thursday, February 17, 2011, 11:40 AM > I recently went on TRT (5g Androgel > per day) but I didn't do much in the way of baseline testing > before starting the TRT. Guest guest
It really depend on each indivudal case. If the person cortisol levels is low to begin with then yes adding TRT make matters worse. If there is no other issues such as thyroid or adrenals then TRT will not have any adverse reactions. > > > From: audioguy19 <audioguy19@...> > > Subject: Does TRT influence cortisol test? > > > > Date: Thursday, February 17, 2011, 11:40 AM > > I recently went on TRT (5g Androgel > > per day) but I didn't do much in the way of baseline testing > > before starting the TRT. Guest guest
I glad to see you are taking the logical approach as to investigating why your T is low in the first place. In alot of young guys cases TRT is just a bandaid approach by drs not willing to take the time to further explore other factors. You should have done all of that before commencing TRT as well as properly examine thyroid function, lifestyle, nutritoin, and stress management as well. 5 mgs of androgel in majority of case is just enough to shut your own production down ending up with worse numbers then you started with. Really was it the solution one has to be asking them selves? > > I recently went on TRT (5g Androgel per day) but I didn't do much in the way of baseline testing before starting the TRT. Guest guest
Thanks Phil. I ordered a 4x cortisol test from Labrix through Canary Club. I live in New York so my options are limited.
