Guest guest
Hi Jeff and Welcome, Dr. Gorden is good the only problems I have seen with him is he starts men on shots every 2 weeks. In his office so you to find out about this if your drive is a long way your better off doing your own shots. Every week if your going a long way to see him your better off seeing Dr. here in Mi. Or getting your family Dr. to work with him over the phone. One thing that you need to get done is to find out why your this low. If your Problem can be fixed you will not need to be on TRT and being on TRT is for life and stops your Testis from working. Most of us on TRT take HCG to keep the Testis working. As for your sperm count have this checked if it's good have some frozen for a back up in case when you want kids you have a problem. Can you stop TRT and go back to where you were most can't but then with your levels this low why would you. Your levels are that of a 100 yr old man in range but not good. Dr. Gorden is good but I have not see to many men that see him we have just one so far. I don't think he is up on high levels of Estradiol in men on TRT when this happens it holds your feeling better on TRT back and needs to be tested and if high treated to keep it down. Most of us use Arimidex it comes in a 1mg pill we cut it into 4 parts and take ..25 mgs every 2 to 3 days to keep it down. If you go on TRT you want to get your Total Testosterone levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range and you need to keep your Estradiol down to about 20 pg/ml. Doing this your body will start to undo any bad things that you have from low Testosterone. It's not an over night thing it takes time but you do feel better a little bit everyday. Do go to Dr. 's site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and His HCG Update in this are labs you need and why he puts this out there free for you and your Dr. He is about the best of the best Dr. for this problem. www.allthingsmale.com and his forum is at http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2 We have a links and files section you can go to from the home page on the left it's full of info about this problem do go there and read up on this so you know when you see a Dr. that he is up on this. Here are some to get you started. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=450553 I can't stress this point enough don't go on TRT until you find out why your low if you do you might not ever find out. Most of the things that can make a man's Testosterone levels low if you fix them the levels will come back up. Guest guest
Jeff, you may want to ask Dr. Gordon how he will deal with your E2 level if it becomes elevated. I've read on the forums that he does notpay too much attention to this. If you are closer to Philadelphia PA, you may want to contact Dr. Overbeck instead. I have his phone number if you should want it. He treats mens hormones as a whole. Not just testosterone. > > I have low T... (350 ng/dL) And I've been feeling the effects for awhile. Guest guest
You need to think long and hard before starting testosterone replacement therapy. Taking exogenous testosterone will almost certainly shut down your natural T production. Essentinally, after a few months on T, you will need it for the rest of your life. Eventually you will be sterile. Some T can convert to Estrogen through the process of aromatization and you might even feminize to some degree. 350 if low, but still in the normal range. It would be better if it were 700, but half a loaf is better than none. My T was 150 and I was 58 years old when I started HRT. Don't start down this path until you really need to. Guest guest
Jeff, Sorry to hear about your low T diagnosis. THere are some other things your doctor should test, and you should find out... At your age, I don't know how low the chances of prostate cancer are, but if T is given to someone who has it, it is thought to infllame it seriously. So, although the PSA test is far from perfect, you should discuss this issue with your doc. The other thing is, there is primary hypogonadism and secondary. The first (if I recall) is where the testes themselves have a problem. The second is where the testes are OK, but the pituitary is not sending the hormone needed for the testes to release the right level of T. The treatment of low T would vary depending on which you have. You might want to do a search for hypogonadism " protocols " --i.e., approved diagnosis and treatment steps, usually developed by a professional organization (such as the American Assn of Clinical Endocrinologists or The Endocrine Society) or one of the govt health units (National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health)... Good luck at your appointment, ________________________________________________________________________________\ _____ > > I have low T... (350 ng/dL) And I've been feeling the effects for awhile.
