Jim, thanks for your comments, totally well said, and they express my own

personal experience, also. For years, now, I have purposefully chosen to

react diffferently, without an explosion at every opportunity. I now

understand that I was reacting, displaying, demonstrating; not a good

posture in life, privately, it ate my guts out. Now, I realize I don't have

to treat the other person in that manner; that I have more control over

myself if I go slower, react more decidedly; don't loose near as many

" friends " ; liked your comments. Obie.

Hi Dr Eliezer and any other medicl Drs on this list.

For about 21/2 months I have been taking H202 orally mixed with Alovera

(craberry flavour)...first 2 teaspoon 6% and later 25 drops of 35% 3 times a

day..with no problems whatsoever except a sudden buzz/alertness and great

energy.!

Not sure know what went wrong....but last week I started feeling pain aound

the chest/diaphragm area..thought I had done too many sit ups at the Gym.

Was not the case 2 days later ended up on a hospital bed fighting for my

life..with terrible gastric irritation!!!!

Was lucky not to get a perforation..or my ex-rays did not show although I'm

still in pain..Thank's to Ed McCabe book!!!

For those of you who are taking H2O2 for whatever reason please be careful!

Althose success stories in EdMcCabe's and Echo might leave u worse off that

u were! If there is any Medical Dr our there Could you please help me

undestand what could have led to this espaecially after 2 1/2 of ingestion

this was this too much? would be most greatful!

Thanks,

Why do you assume Dr. Eliezer is a medical doctor. There are a jillion phony

degrees you can buy to allow you to put Dr. in front of your name. Why don't you

ask him who granted his doctor's degree? You'll find it is NOT M.D., most likely

herbology, a correspondence school degree..

What was the basis of your doctor's diagnosis? What sort of preventive treatment plan does he or she suggest for you? I imagine you felt too lousy to ask, right? If the migraines recur, you have a choice of several drugs to be taken on a daily basis to prevent them. Imitrex (or similar brands) can be taken by injection, inhaler, or tongue tablet at the first sign of a headache. Preventing a migraine or treating it at the first glimmer are much better moves than waiting until one is full-blown.

Avoid Fiorinal, a strong analgesic, which was the only commonly available treatment until about ten years ago. It can cause severe liver damage. I was a lab rat for the first of the new generation of anti-migraine drugs a decade ago.

Might I also recommend Maxalt, a drug similar to Immitrex, but supposedly

less " dangerous " (in terms of the heart problems warning you hear about

Immitrex); it works for my migraines.

I knew I had hepatitis for years. Nobody could tell me what they were, since

I did not suffer some of the classic symptoms of migraines (light flashes,

vision distortions, etc.). I went through MRI's and all kinds of tests.

Finally after 20 years I saw a neurologist and he just asked me about them

and without doing any tests whatsoever he told me " They're migraines " . He

gave me Imitrix and for me it was a miracle cure. Before Imitrix, if I got

up with a migraine I went to bed with it, it never went away except during

the night and then often lasted 3-5 days. Now imitrix will usually take care

of it the first day, sometimes I have to re-take it the next day. There is a

warning on the medication re: liver, but I asked my dr. about it and he said

I could continue to use it as normal (I don't get them terribly often). I

know they're miserable to live with. Good luck in finding relief from

Thanks Dave, I think I will get relief in October when

I'm done with treatment. In the meantime I know they

go away a couple of days after the shot, so I just

manage them. In my early 20's I had the " classic "

migraines, with the vision distortions, etc. I have

told my dr, these aren't the same. With these

headaches, the left side hurts (head, neck and

shoulder). They tell me its a migraine, but I think

it's just pain from treatment. Who knows. I'm just

glad it's working and I've only got 14 more to go.

They warned me this wasn't going to be fun.

Dear Becky,

Thanks for the migraine advice. I have heard that some young children

have high cholesterol and that some hospitals have special programs to

monitor this in children because it can be a problem later in life. I don't

know if 218 is considered " high " . (You know docs sometimes want levels to be

VERY high or VERY low before they consider you a significant enough risk to

monitor closely.

Becky - Is this the same Periactin that is sometimes used as an appetite

stimulant? Are there any side effects to it?

Our oldest daughter might be trying it to help with a weight problem.

Jeff,

Yes, I've had about 95 % success with treating migraines. YOu've got to help the client figure out why they get them. I feel like a detective when working with them. I always teach abdominal breathing and hand-temperature training and then usually do T3-T4 training around 6-9hz while inhibiting 8-11 and 23-38. Rosemary MacGregor

Has anyone had success treating migraine headaches with NF? Are there typical general protocols, or is it a very brain specific program? I was also wondering if people who have found relief do NF when they feel a migraine coming on, or if its more a side benefit of some other training (such as C3-C4 SMR)?

This is really an aside to why we're working with the BMstr, but the wife's Imitrex (12 tabs/month)is a bit spendy ($200) and I hope there's no harm in throwing out the question.

I'm interested in this too. To clarify, are you rewarding 6-9? If so, is that cossing over the inhibit of 8-11 and do you do this with eyes open or closed? Thanks,

I have been seeing a woman who, among other things, was having a

couple of migraines a week. Specifically for this woman, I have

been training her at t3/t4, rewarding 11 to 14 and inhibiting 3-6

and 23-38. After 15 minutes, I switch to C4, rewarding 12-15 and

inhibiting 3-6 and 23-28 for 5 minutes. She has responded well;

only 1 migraine in last 6 months.

"Yes" to all questions . And I know you will be wondering why I am rewarding and inhibiting some of the same frequencies. The 8-11 inhibit is on aberant alpha pattern that are let's say "intruding" and are found in migraines. The brain is capable of sorting this out. Get rid of the "bad alpha" and calm with the lower 6-9hz. Happy Easter. The best, Rosemary

Jeff,

Sorry to be joining this thread so late.

Migraines are parasympathetic rebounds of the autonomic nervous system. They occur when a client has experienced (or created) a fairly chronic level of stress over a significant period of time, changing the Tone of the ANS, which is responsible for maintaining the internal environments of our bodies and linking them with our emotional states. Migraines don't occur during periods of stress. They occur immediately following significant stress. Instead of re-opening the blood vessels to the head by relaxing the smooth muscles, the parasympathetic system dramatically over-reacts and causes the vessels to open way too much.

I agree with Rosemary that teaching a client to change stress responses is critical to resolving this problem long term, and that usually starts with recognizing that stress is an internal response--not an external cause. Stress is the experience of needing to have more control over a situation than one can have. Learning to let go of that need for control is a very basic (and very difficult) element of success.

I haven't personally found that all migraines respond to the same thing. Many of the folks with whom I've worked have indeed had the "driven" character Rosemary described (which I call the Reversed brain), but others have had what I call the "Disconnect" pattern relating to severe early trauma. I've trained a number of these clients with T3/T4, but others who didn't respond to that at all were helped dramatically by C3/C4. Still others benefited from the Reversal training, if they had that pattern.

It's funny that we are now on the subject of migraines. I had severe migraines before I had Samters. In fact, I believe I actually "traded" the migraines for Samters. I was taking all the pills and doing the chiropractor thing for my migraines and they went away but that is exactly the time my Samters symptoms started. I have had only one migraine since I've had my Samters and that was at a time when I thought the Samters (I didn't know what it was called back then) had gone away. I haven't had a migraine since but I haven't been without Samters symptoms since either.

Rob

stomach problems, migraines

Very interesting to read about both the stomach problems and presence of migraines in other folks with Samter's, because I have had both since I was a teenager (I'm 39 now), and I never made any connection between it and my Samter's. Neither did my doctors. Also interestingly, both problems have been getting less severe over time; the gastritis and acid reflux that was fairly severe 10 years ago, I now control by taking Zantac and by sleeping "propped up" when needed. I only have flare-ups once or twice a year now, and manage them much better, so they don't last more than a few days. My Samter's is NOT getting any less severe, however.I do also have occasional bouts of "irritable bowel syndrome," and am wondering if it is also Samter's-related, or if have some undiagnosed allergy contributing to that. I'm allergic to very little besides aspirin, at least according to the allergy test's I've been given. And as for the migraines, they have become very infrequent, only about 2 a year, and much less severe. I take ergotamine and Tylenol3 when I feel one coming on, and it usually lessens the pain and duration dramatically. BTW, I have been desensitized to aspirin, and highly recommend it- it makes careful dieting less necessary, and I can drink beer with few harmful effects : )- Vic -

It may not be the headaches but the meds you took. My Samters started in earnest last year. I had sacroiliitis (tendonitis) of the lower back for about 6 months. I was taking regular doses of Advil and other inhibitors.

My symptoms started up during that period. Initial symptom was a feeling of nausea, my doc checked me for acid reflux and ulcers. But it was just the start of my Samters. Later in the year I started having more severe allergic reactions (asthma, sneezing, etc).

Maybe it is the therapy used in treating pain (i.e. migraines back problems etc..) that causes the Samters to start. Could be for some of us these drugs may have triggered the Samters.

Did anybody else in the group go through chronic pain or inflammation treatment for an extended period prior to showing Samter symptoms?

I am new at this so I may be way off base, but it may be worth looking into. It may be too late for us, but others may benefit from the answer.

Rosemary, & others,

This migraine discussion has helped me alot. I have been managing mine

pretty well for the last 15 years and will re-confirm Rosemary's suggestion

for identifying the triggers first. Proper diet (no red dye, alcohol,

sugar), yoga and sleep make a huge difference. I can't always control the

stress factors (like my RAD daughters night terrors), but knowing what they

are helps me get through them. I've benefitted enormously from T3-T4

(rewarding 11-14) to help with early trauma processing. Recently I found

myself with a persistent headache (almost always rising when I lay down

after a long day) that just would not quit, for about 3 weeks. It seems

hormonal. Had some massage, acupuncture, chiropractor, but still it would

come back. Then Rosemary posted the 6-9 reward frequency at T3-T4, which I

had never tried on myself. I thought the low freq. was for kids. It made a

big difference. I felt a powerful release deep in my brain, coming up from

the neck moving forward. It was pretty amazing. My hormones are still in

flux and I keep losing my train of thought, but the pounding, nauseating

headache has not come back. (And oh yes, I am doing homeopathy for the

hormonal stuff.)

Thanks.
