Guest guest
I never tired them by my Wife did to see it it would help her sleep. She said it did nothing at all she felt nothing. I think she even got them at her Dr.'s office so they had to be good. The thing about buying supplements is there is a lot of junk out there people ripping us off. Guest guest
I think your wife can't sleep cause her estrogen and progesterone are low, which it doesn't affect. I've been reading Dr. no's site about anxiety, and he says anxiety can be caused by low serotonin, which 5-HTP can help, without the side effects of SSRIs. SAMe is supposed to help estrogen metabolism, like DIM, I guess, cause high estrogen can also cause anxiety. He also says getting thyroid right works too, and we're still working on that. I'm wondering about DIM. It's made up of cruciferous veggies, which are supposed goitrogens and anti-thyroid. Could they be contraindicated if you have a thyroid problem, which most with high estrogen seem to have anyway? Guest guest
I have read this at Dr. M's I went back on Concerta a 12 hr. type Ritalin med. My Dr. gave it to me when it came out for Fatigue but after my heart surgery they took me off it. I am back on this a week now 18 mgs and this help with brain serotonin I am not ADHD but this drug helps with my brain fog and fatigue. All you can do is try DIM I know men with thyroid problems on it. If you take DIM take TMG with it do the DIM at dinner and the TMG at bedtime some of the TMG converts into SAM-e. And TMG helps you wash out the E's from your liver. Guest guest
You recommend TMG over SAM-e because then you get both, and each has an effect? philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> wrote: > If you take DIM take TMG with it do the DIM at dinner and the TMG at bedtime some of the TMG converts into SAM-e. Guest guest
No I recommed using TMG if your going to try Indolplex/DIM the DIM converts the bad E's into good ones and the TMG helps your liver wash them out. But yes taking TMG some of it will convert into SAM-e but not like taking SAM-e. I take TMG for my Heart and taking it at bedtime helps me sleep. Might be the little SAM-e doing this from the TMG. http://www.digitalnaturopath.com/treat/T36297.html Co-Moderator Phil > > > If you take DIM take TMG with it do the DIM at dinner > and the TMG at bedtime some of the TMG converts into > SAM-e. Guest guest
I tried 5-HTP and quit almost immediately. Made my brain feel like it buzzing. Just didn't feel well at all. Guest guest
I've tried 5-HTP but not SAM-e. My experience with 5-HTP was no improvement in mood nor an improvement in being able to sleep. L-Tryptophan helps me check out when I want to (taken 90 min. before I want to sleep), though I don't notice any particular mood elevation the next day. With that said, sleeping better = less grumpiness and anxiety, so I suppose others can tolerate me better the morning after taking L-Tryptophan. I've read concerns about 5-HTP converting into serotonin in the bloodstream before crossing the blood brain barrier. Without doing the bulk of its work in the brain, I don't see how 5-HTP would provide much help. ~Xian > > Anyone using these with good results? >
