Guest guest
Now I am really confused. I came here a few months ago when I had a blood test showing an incredibly low total Testosterone level of (44) I am 43 YO now was 42 at the time. I went for a follow=up and got a lot of things tested and the low T was verified but not as bad this time. It was still very low (112) on a scale where 260 is the minimum. It also showed very low FSH, LH and TSH as well and GF1 that I had never even heard of. With everything being low I had an MRI of my brain and pituiary but it was basically normal. So the doc said he had no idea what was happening or why but since my wife and I are trying to have children and I clearly need testosterone, I can't take any testosterone or it will shut down sperm production (which is actually above normal and makes no sense I realize). He said there is is only one " cure " until we leave child baring ages and that is HCG. I know I need something as I can sleep for 15 hours a day easily, and cold all the time, tied like you can't believe and can't even stand for more than 5 minutes or so without being wiped out (I guess it is all the very low T) My free T was measured at (21). So he prescribed 1500 units of HCG twice a week and said within about 10 days I would begin feeling great. I have now been on it for about 6 weeks and have taken 20,000 units of HCG and have blown up like a balloon. I have added almost 15 pounds in a month and my legs and feet look like a pregnant woman's. My wife jokes that I now have " cankles " , a new term for me? I was advised I would begin losing weight and feel great but instead I am so bloated, tired and swoolen I can't believe it. I moved this month, lost the doctor and will have no insurance for another month so any testing or follow-up with a doc is out for about a month or six weeks. Now I wonder if I should just stop the HCG. I don't get it. People take this for weight loss. Has anyone ever found that it causes weight gain? Since the doc said it was my on;y option It sounds like I am scr***ed. Is this normal? Since I seem to have an abnormal motabolism or something maybe HCG will not work or maybe it is just doing the opposite? Is 1500 units per dose normal, I am wondering about trying less. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
